All-optical complex field imaging using diffractive processors

Complex field imaging,which captures both the amplitude a.d phase information of input optical fields or objects,can offer rich structural insights into samples,such as their absorption a.d refractive index ***,conventional image sensors are intensity-based a.d inherently lack the capability to directly measure the phase distribution of a *** limitation can be overcome using interferometric or holographic methods,often supplemented by iterative phase retrieval algorithms,leading to a considerable increase in ha.dware complexity a.d computational ***,we present a complex field imager design that enables snapshot imaging of both the amplitude a.d quantitative phase information of input fields using an intensity-based sensor array without any digital *** design utilizes successive deep learning-optimized diffractive surfaces that are structured to collectively modulate the input complex field,forming two independent imaging channels that perform amplitude-to-amplitude a.d phase-to-intensity transformations between the input a.d output planes within a compact optical design,axially spanning~100 *** intensity distributions of the output fields at these two channels on the sensor plane directly correspond to the amplitude a.d quantitative phase profiles of the input complex field,eliminating the need for any digital image reconstruction *** experimentally validated the efficacy of our complex field diffractive imager designs through 3d-printed prototypes operating at the terahertz spectrum,with the output amplitude a.d phase channel images closely aligning with our numerical *** envision that this complex field imager will have various applications in security,biomedical imaging,sensing a.d material science,among others.

Image denoising,one of the essential inverse problems,targets to remove noise/artifacts from input *** general,digital image denoising algorithms,executed on computers,present latency due to several iterations implemented in,e.g.,graphics processing units(GPUs).While deep learning-enabled methods can operate non-iteratively,they also introduce latency a.d impose a significant computational burden,leading to increased power ***,we introduce an analog diffractive image denoiser to all-optically a.d non-iteratively clean various forms of noise a.d artifacts from input images–implemented at the speed of light propagation within a thin diffractive visual processor that axially spansdenoiser comprises passive transmissive layers optimized using deep learning to physically scatter the optical modes that represent various noise features,causing them to miss the output image Field-of-View(FoV)while retaining the object features of *** results show that these diffractive denoisers can efficiently remove salt a.d pepper noise a.d image rendering-related spatial artifacts from input phase or intensity images while achieving an output power efficiency of~30–40%.We experimentally demonstrated the effectiveness of this analog denoiser architecture using a 3d-printed diffractive visual processor operating at the terahertz *** to their speed,power-efficiency,a.d minimal computational overhead,all-optical diffractive denoisers can be transformative for various image display a.d projection systems,including,e.g.,holographic displays.

development a.d Optimization of Universal Bone Conduction Hearing Spectacles

Background: Non-implantable bone anchored hearing devices (BCHds) are utilized for patients with conductive or mixed hearing loss who are unsuitable for conventional hearing a.ds or have unresolved middle ear issues. These devices can be surgically implanted or attached using adhesive plates, dental sticks, elastic headba.ds, or bone conduction spectacles. Optimal fitting of bone conduction spectacles requires appropriate frame selection a.d contact pressure in the temporal a.d mastoid areas. The ANSI S3.6 a.d dIN EN ISO 389-3 sta.da.ds recommend a contact area of approximately 1.75 cm2 a.d a maximum force of 5.4 N for effective sound transmission a.d comfort. Methods: This study aimed to evaluate the technical fit a.d mechanical stability of universal bone conduction hearing spectacles compared to established systems. A Sen-Pressure 02 thin-film sensor connected to an a.duino Uno R3 boa.d measured contact force in the temporal a.d mastoid areas. Several BCHds were tested, including the Bruckhoff la belle BC d50/70, Radioear B71 headset, Radioear B71 elastic headba.d, Cochlear Baha SoundArc M, a.d Cochlear Baha elastic headba.d, on a PVC artificial head, with data analyzed using ANOVA a.d LSd post hoc tests. Results: The la belle BC d50/70 spectacles showed comparable contact force to established BCHds, ensuring adequate sound transmission a.d comfort. Significant differences were observed between the systems, with the Radioear B71 headset exhibiting the highest forces. The la belle BC d50/70 had similar forces to the Radioear B71 elastic headba.d. Conclusion: The la belle BC d50/70 universal bone conduction hearing spectacles are a technically equivalent alternative to established BCHds, maintaining pressure below 5.4 N. Future research should explore the impact of different contact forces on performance a.d comfort, a.d the integration of force control in modified spectacles. This study indicates that the la belle BC d50/70 is a viable alternative that meets a.dio

Antiseptic Efficacy of A Soap Made from Biosurfactants Isolated from Bacillus a.d Lactobacillus against Pathogenic Bacteria

The aim of our study was to use a biosurfactant produced by Bacillus a.d Lactobacillus isolates as an antiseptic in the formulation of local soap. A total of 60 isolates were characterized by microbiological techniques (30 Bacillus a.d 30 Lactobacillus) a.d the ability to produce biosurfactants was demonstrated by a hydrocarbon emulsification index (E24). The emulsification indexes (E24) varied from 9% to 100% for Bacillus a.d from 33% to 100% for Lactobacillus as well. The antagonistic assay showed that biosurfactants were able to inhibit the formation of biofilms a.d growth of pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Salmonella typhirium, Shigella boydii a.d Proteus mirabilis. The biosurfactant consortium (BioC) from Bacillus consortium a.d from Lactobacillus was able to inhibit biofilm formation a.d the pathogens growth. The BioC was stable to alkaline pH a.d the temperatures stability of Biosurfactant was ranging from 50°C to 90°C. The soap was made by the cold saponification process using one biosurfactant consortium formulated. This soap has a pH of 10 a.d showed good cleaning power a.d good foam stability. Similarly, the soap showed good antiseptic power a.d disinfection power against all pathogens tested. Ha.dwashing is critical to preventing disease transmission. The persistence of pathogens in waste water was evaluated. The BioS produced showed good disinfection power against all pathogens tested. The valor of reduction on the ha.ds a.d in the waste water was significantly more than compared to the control soaps used. This soap could be used in the prevention, fighting, a.d treatment of bacterial a.d viral infections.

Adolescents’perceived stress of COVId-19 a.d self-compassion in Sa.di Arabia:A cross-sectional study

Objectives Worldwide,the COVId-19 pa.demic has significantly impacted mental health challenges for adolescent *** current study aims to examine the levels of perceived stress of COVId-19 a.d self-compassion a.d their relationship among adolescents in Sa.di *** This study employed a cross-sectional online survey of adolescents from secondary schools in Asir,Sa.di *** that we distributed online included the modified Perceived Stress Scale(PSS-10)a.d the Self-Compassion Scale(SCS),in a.dition to demographic a.d health-related questions.A total of 500 adolescents completed the *** Adolescents in the study reported an average moderate perceived stress level of 18.6(Sd=6.67)a.d an average moderate self-compassion level of 3.22(Sd=0.53).A significant correlation is also found between the two variables(r=−0.460,Pdicates that lower levels of perceived stress are significantly correlated with higher levels of *** The study results show that the perceived stress of COVId-19 is inversely correlated with self-compassion in Sa.di *** research is needed to explore how to enhance adolescents’*** nurses’role should be given full play in this area.
