基于费米能级差,构建了以BiVO_4为光阳极,Cu_2O/CuO为光阴极的双光电极可见光响应光催化燃料电池体系,研究了该体系在不同氧化剂的辅助作用下光电催化降解苯酚的效率与动力学.结果表明,向该体系中投加H_2O_2可以显著促进苯酚的降解,且反应过程光电流稳定,铜溶出量低.详细探究了H_2O_2初始浓度、pH对降解的影响,结果表明在H_2O_2投加量为5 mmol·L^(-1),初始pH为3.5条件下利于苯酚降解,5 mg·L^(-1)的苯酚可在120 min内完全去除.顺磁共振和猝灭实验表明该体系的主要氧化物种为·OH、·O^-_2和光生空穴.该催化体系实现了苯酚在可见光下的高效催化降解.

A pot research has been conducted in Horticultural Department Nursery, Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry, Duhok University, during the period of May 15, 2012-Sep. 1, 2012. The study involved in testing the effects of two amended organic media （loam ＋ sheep manure and loam ＋ peat moss （1：1）） and different concentrations of seaweed （sea force 2） extract including （0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 mL/L） on growth and flowering of Periwinkle （Vinca rosea） plant. The results showed that growing vinca plants in peat moss medium and spraying sea force 2 extract with low concentrations especially 0.5 mL/L resulted in positive significant difference in vegetative and flowering characteristics.

This paper addresses a comprehensive design of RCC T-beam Bridge based on AASHTO design standards. The bridge is designed and proposed to be constructed over an irrigation canal (Zahirshahi canal) of Kandahar province, Afghanistan that has more than 30 bridges over it. Yet they are not enough, and the demand for construction of new bridges is gradually arising because of the vast urbanization in the surrounding of the canal. Most of the bridges on this canal are Reinforced Concrete Slab (RCS) bridges;?these type bridges are limited by capacity and are generally found only in smaller spans. Since they can only span short distances and are often constructed as multiple-span?bridges with vertical supports between the abutments to allow a longer length.?All constructed slab bridges over Zahirshahi canal are four-span bridges. Constructing multi-span bridges on the canal decreases waterway due to the existence of many piers and footings that could increase the water level during the peak flow, even, sometimes can cause over flow. Taking into consideration these deficiencies of the present (RCS) bridges, two-span RCC T-beam Bridge is one of the best alternatives to be constructed over the canal. In addition, canal cross-sectional dimensions are almost constant along its length, though the construction of two-span RCC T-beam bridge is applicable at any point of the canal. The design is selected based on exclusive survey of the area during all seasons including the peak flowing of the canal.

Human biometric analysis has gotten much attention due to itswidespread use in different research areas, such as security, surveillance,health, human identification, and classification. Human gait is one of the keyhuman traits that can identify and classify humans based on their age, gender,and ethnicity. Different approaches have been proposed for the estimation ofhuman age based on gait so far. However, challenges are there, for which anefficient, low-cost technique or algorithm is needed. In this paper, we proposea three-dimensional real-time gait-based age detection system using a machinelearning approach. The proposed system consists of training and testingphases. The proposed training phase consists of gait features extraction usingthe Microsoft Kinect (MS Kinect) controller, dataset generation based onjoints’ position, pre-processing of gait features, feature selection by calculatingthe Standard error and Standard deviation of the arithmetic mean and bestmodel selection using R2 and adjusted R2 techniques. T-test and ANOVAtechniques show that nine joints (right shoulder, right elbow, right hand, leftknee, right knee, right ankle, left ankle, left, and right foot) are statisticallysignificant at a 5% level of significance for age estimation. The proposedtesting phase correctly predicts the age of a walking person using the resultsobtained from the training phase. The proposed approach is evaluated on thedata that is experimentally recorded from the user in a real-time *** (50) volunteers of different ages participated in the experimental *** the limited features, the proposed method estimates the age with 98.0%accuracy on experimental images acquired in real-time via a classical generallinear regression model.

Leaf Water Status and Its Relationship with Reproductive Responses of Common Bean (<i>Phaseolus vulgaris</i>L.) Genotypes under Water Stress

Two tolerant (BB24 and BB43) and two susceptible (BARI busbean-2 and BB04) genotypes of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) were evaluated for their water status and its relationship with reproductive responses under continuous water stress (50% field capacity) and control (80% field capacity) conditions in a net house covered with polyethylene sheet at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Bangladesh. Under water stress condition, the susceptible genotype namely BB04 exhibited more negative leaf water potential (LWP) which was followed by that of BARI bushbean-2 in all the time of the day except at noon. The tolerant genotype namely BB24 exhibited less negative LWP at noon. The tolerant genotypes maintained higher relative water content (WRC) than the susceptible ones from dawn to dusk. The relationship between RWC and LWP was examined separately for four genotypes under water stress condition. The genotype BB24 showed a smaller decrease in RWC with more negative LWP than BB04. Water stress reduced pod setting ratio. The relationship between the leaf water status and reproductive responses showed that the genotype with a little reduction in mid-day drop of RWC or with high mid-day RWC displayed a high pod setting ratio.

This study included isolation and identification of E. sakazakii from 51 different samples of powdered infant formula milk involved (Dialak 1 & 2, Celia 1 & 2, Primalac, Biomil 1 & 2, Similac, Nictalia 1 & 2, MAMi, Novolac (AD), Novolac (AR), Novolac (Allernova), S-26 AR, Nursoy, S-26 PDF gold. The results showed that one batch from three of the batches identified of Novolac and Dialak were contaminated and all the types of other infants were non-contaminated. The strains code given as (E1, E2, E3, E4);the bacteria showed resistance to antibiotics used was cephalosporin batch;the third generation showed sensitive to antibiotics life results through inhibition processes such as (Cefotaxime, Sifutetan and Siftadizim), where the diameters of inhibition zone for Siftadizim (18 mm), Sifutetan (22 mm) & Cefotaxime (25 mm) confirmed the bacteria by API and Vitek Compact- 2 (biomero).

Aim: Graft vessel disease (GVD) is one of the main limiting factors to long-t erm survival after adult heart transplantation (HTx). The incidence of epicardia l and microvascular GVD in paediatric patients was studied. Methods: A total of 137 coronary angiographies from 130 paediatric HTx and heart and lung transplant (HLTx) patients (70 male, 60 female, aged 0-18 y) were evaluated according to the Stanford classification and its supplements (minor vessel alterations). In H &E stainings from right ventricular endomyocardial biopsies (EMB = 397), light microscopic diagnosis of acute cellular rejection (ISHLT classification) and vas cular reaction (morphology of endothelial cells and vessel walls) was performed. Results: Moderate rejection was present in 32.8%and severe rejection in 13.3 %of EMB. Microvascular EC swelling was found in 33.5%and vessel wall thickeni ng in 53.8%of EMB. The results of the coronary angiographic investigations wer e: Stanford lesions = 61.2%, peripheral obliterations = 52.5%, diameter fluc tuations = 86.3%, pathologic tapering = 64.0%, calcifications = 10.8%. Lon g-term survivors (≥5 y) showed macrovascular alterations in 78%of cases and m icrovascular alterations in 67%of cases. Conclusion: The development of micro- and macrovascular GVD is one of the predominant complications in long-term surv ivors after paediatric HTx and HLTx.

Inflammation plays a significant role in the etiology of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).The rise in the pro-inflammatory cytokines is the essential step in glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity induced mitochondrial injury,oxidative stress and beta cell apoptosis in T2 *** the recognized markers are interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1,IL-10,IL-18,tissue necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),C-reactive protein,resistin,adiponectin,tissue plasminogen activator,fibrinogen and *** mellitus has firm genetic and very strong environmental influence; exhibiting a polygenic mode of *** single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in various genes including those of pro and antiinflammatory cytokines have been reported as a risk for T2 *** all the SNPs have been confirmed by unifying results in different studies and wide variations have been reported in various ethnic *** inter-ethnic variations can be explained by the fact that gene expression may be regulated by gene-gene,gene-environment and gene-nutrient *** review highlights the impact of these interactions on determining the role of single nucleotide polymorphism of IL-6,TNF-α,resistin and adiponectin in pathogenesis of T2 DM.
