Numerous plant species,particularly those that can accumulate selenium(Se)and silicon(Si),benefit from these essential *** and Si accumulation in plants profoundly affects several biochemical reactions in *** how plants react to Se/Si enrichment is crucial for ensuring adequate dietary Se/Si intake for humans and animals and increasing plant tolerance to environmental *** studies have shown that Se/Si-enriched plants are more resistant to salinity,drought,extreme temperatures,UV radiation,and excess *** interplay between Se/Si in plants is crucial for maintaining growth and development under normal conditions while providing a critical defense mechanism against stressors like heavy metals and *** and Si commonly stimulate antioxidant defense systems in plants exposed to environmental stressors,but the involved mechanisms are complex and not well *** ensure the positive effects of Se/Si fortification in plants,it is essential to consider the degree of accumulation,the chemical form of Se/Si used,the method of application,and the likelihood of interaction with other *** this review,we will discuss the effects of Se/Si bio-fortification on plants subjected to abiotic *** responses to exogenous Se/Si will also be reviewed,emphasizing the influences of Se/Si in the modulation of enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant defense mechanisms under various abiotic stress conditions.

Efficiency decomposition in parallel production systems with shared sources on interval data： An illustration of Iranian Banks

In real-world applications, some systems are composed of independent production units that use different inputs to produce outputs. The conventional data envelopment analysis model measures the relative efficiencies of a set of decision-making units with exact values of both inputs and outputs. In this paper, we propose an approach to assess parallel production systems with shared sources and bounded interval data, and also we provide a model that focuses on calculating the efficiency of the whole of a system along with the efficiencies of its components.

A NEW METHOD TO MEASURE EFFICIENCY IN PARALLEL PRODUCTION SYSTEMS WITH SHARED SOURCES IN NATURAL LIFE

A few models in data envelopment analysis （DEA） have been proposed to evaluate performance of production systems which are composed of independent parallel production units. In this paper, we have developed a parallel DEA model for production systems which are composed of independent parallel subunits, so that each subunit uses its own inputs and a portion of the shared inputs to produce final outputs. Also, we will propose the models to calculate the efficiency of the whole system along with the efficiencies of its subunits. In addition to theoretical derivations, a case of 25 areas of Iran＇s Bank is used as an example to illustrate the whole idea.

Restricted variation in data envelopment analysis with undesirable factors in nature

In standard data envelopment analysis （DEA） models, inefficient decision-making units （DMUs） should change their inputs and outputs arbitrarily to meet the efficient frontier. However, in many real applications of DEA, because of some limitations in resources and DMU＇s ability, these variations cannot be made arbitrarily. Moreover, in some situations, undesirable factors with different disposability, strong or weak disposability, are found. In this paper, a DEA-based model is proposed to determine the relative efficiency of DMUs in such a restricted environment and in presence of undesirable factors. Indeed, variation levels of inputs and outputs are pre-defined and are considered to evaluate the performance of DMUs. Numerical examples are utilized to demonstrate the approach.

A New Approach for Solving Nonlinear Equations by Using of Integer Nonlinear Programming

One of the most important issues in numerical calculations is finding simple roots of nonlinear equations. This topic is one of the oldest challenges in science and engineering. Many important problems in engineering, to achieve the result need to solve a nonlinear equation. Thus, the formulation of a recursive relationship with high order of convergence and low time complexity is very important. This paper provides a modification to the Weerakoon-Fernando and Parhi-Gupta methods. It is shown that, in each iterate, the improved method requires three evaluations of the function and two evaluations of the first derivatives of function. The proposed with the Kou et al., Neta, Parhi-Gupta, Thukral and Mir et al. methods have been applied to a collection of 12 test problem. The results show that proposed approach significantly reduces the number of function calls when compared to the above methods. The numerical examples show that the proposed method is more efficiency than other methods in this class, such as sixth-order method of Parhi-Gupta or eighth-order method of Mir et al. and Thukral. We show that the order of convergence the proposed method is 9 and also, the modified method has the efficiency of .
