The number and quality of sperm are decreased due to bisphenol A(BPA) exposure, an endocrine-disrupting chemical on the male reproductive system, especially in advanced paternal age(APA). Procyanidin C-1(PCY-1), an antioxidant from grape seed(Vitis vinifera L.), has demonstrated anti-viral, anti-melanogenic and immunostimulatory effects. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effects of PCY-1 intervention on sperm parameters, testis morphological changes, serum testosterone, oestradiol, and luteinizing hormone(LH) concentrations and the expression of apoptotic(Bax and Bcl-2) and mitochondria-related(Mfn1 and Opa1) genes in BPA-exposed aged mice. Results revealed that PCY-1 intervention improves aged male fertility in BPA-exposed conditions by decreasing abnormal sperms percentage and increasing spermatogenic cell diameter and epithelial height. PCY-1 also decreased oestradiol, and increased LH and testosterone levels. The gene expression of Bax was significantly down-regulated by PCY-1 intervention. In contrast, Bcl-2 was substantially up-regulated. Expression of Mfn1 and Opa1 genes were also significantly up-regulated in the PCY intervention group. Hence, it is demonstrated that PCY-1 was able to mitigate the adverse effects of BPA on reproductive parameters of aged mice. Collectively, we postulated that PCY-1 has a potential role in protecting the ageing male reproductive system against the damaging impacts of BPA.

The significance of metastastic disease in the cervical lymph nodes has long been appreciated. The rich lymphatics of the upper aerodigestive tract explained the high incidence of cervical metastasis, occasional bilaterally spread. Even with appropriate treatment, cervical recurrences do occur. Nonetheless, with the resurgence of tuberculosis, the differential of tuberculous cervical lymphadenitis should be excluded. Appropriate modalities should be employed in making the appropriate diagnosis possible.

The consistency of the ethanol foamed binders and mixtures prepared using asphalt binders foamed by the manual injection technique and laboratory foaming device were evaluated and compared in this study. The asphalt binders foamed using both methods was prepared at 120℃, 130℃ and 140℃. The performance of ethanol-foamed binders was evaluated in terms of rotational viscosity, expansion ratio, and low temperature ***, the performance of foamed WMA mixtures was tested using semi-circular bending(SCB), disk-shaped compact tension(DCT), and tensile strength ratio(TSR) tests. In order to conduct the TSR test, the samples were conditioned using the Moisture Induced Stress Tester(miST) to simulate the pore pressure and scouring effects due to a tire passing over wet pavement. The foamed WMA mixtures were produced using pre-heated aggregates at 80℃ and 100℃ and foamed asphalt binders produced at 130℃. The nano-hydrated lime was used as the filler and anti-stripping agent. Overall, the properties of ethanol-foamed binders and WMA mixtures produced via both methods are significantly comparable, except the resistance to moisture damage test result. However, the findings indicate that the ethanol-foamed WMA mixtures prepared using both techniques are having good resistance to moisture damage, based on the TSR values more than 0.8. The foamed WMA mixtures also exhibited a better resistance to cracking, as indicated by a higher tensile strength compared to the control HMA. Additionally, the WMA specimen prepared at 100℃ was less susceptible to rutting than the samples produced at 80℃.

Despite advancement in food analytical platforms and availability of CODEX standard,the fraud honey relentlessly remains as global *** with stringent guidelines,controlling the incoming honey product at ground level proved to be challenging and difficult to *** most analytical platforms are powerful enough to detect counterfeit honey products,there is also a need to develop a rapid screening test to support field regulatory activity.A chemical reagent developed based on biochemistry principle has proved to be able to differentiate synthetic honey product from its raw *** reaction required only three drops of honey product to react with few drops of reagent mixtures which resulted in a change of color and precipitation of proteins and other molecules within 2 min *** performed on raw honey samples inclusive of several stingless bees and Apis species honey resulted in a precipitation as compared to fake honey generated from a blend of white sugar,golden syrup,vinegar,lime juice and plantain which resulted in clear organic phase indicating missing natural honey biological *** difference between raw honey and fake honey reaction with the reagents can be utilized for real time on field screening activity before proceeding with authentication using complex analytical platforms.

Synovial sarcoma is a rare soft tissue sarcoma of the head and neck region involving the parapharyngeal *** diagnosis of synovial sarcoma can be very challenging to the *** present a rare case of parapharyngeal synovial sarcoma in a young female patient who had a two-month history of left cervical intumescent mass at level *** fine needle aspiration cytology of the mass was proved *** excision of the mass was performed and the first case of parapharyngeal sarcoma was identified in our center by fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) *** imaging revealed residual *** patient successfully underwent a second excision of the residual tumor and received adjuvant radiotherapy.

Latex is one of the natural rubbers that is used to enhance the performance of asphalt pavement for the last few *** presence of latex,which is categorized as an elastomer,helps to improve pavement performance and ***,higher viscosity of latex modified asphalt binder increases the production-temperatures of asphalt mixture,thus consuming higher energy during asphalt mixture’s production *** this study,the effectiveness of methanol as an energy-efficient foaming agent was assessed to reduce the viscosity and enhance the workability of the modified asphalt *** basic and rheological properties of the asphalt binders were determined through multiple laboratory tests including expansion ratio and half-life,rotational viscosity,softening point,torsional recovery,and dynamic shear *** properties of asphalt mixtures were assessed through the service characteristics,mechanical performance,and moisture resistance *** was found that the presence of latex results in an approximately twofold higher expansion ratio and a lower half-life of the asphalt binder at about the same *** the rotational viscosity test,the application of methanol into asphalt binder decreased the viscosity and led to better workability,despite the addition of latex as an asphalt *** application of methanol into asphalt binder improved the workability of mixture samples and lowered the compaction energy of the compaction process,which are the crucial criteria for a better mixing and compaction *** foamed asphalt mixtures with latex show much higher resistance to moisture damage and stiffness than control sample even though they were prepared at a lower temperature.

Herein,we reported a facile,cost efficient,synthesis of Gr@NiCu NCs nanocomposite and explored their application in supercapacitor and antibacterial *** Graphene sheets in the NiCu based electrode showed a high specific surface area and supports conductive networks decorated with oxygen groups,which synergistically improve charge storage ***,Gr@NiCu NCs contain hydrophilic oxygen groups of chemically reduced graphene oxide,which allows easy access of the electrolyte to the electrode’s *** electrochemical study demonstrated the highest specific capacitance of 977 Fg^(-1) at 10 Ag^(-1) and remarkable cyclic retentiveness~90%even after 1000 cycles.A noteworthy energy density of the Gr@NiCu NCs achieves approximately 542 KWh kg^(-1) and a power density of 21 kW kg^(-1) acquired through the CD description utilizing a current density of 10 Ag^(-1).The antimicrobial activity of synthesized Gr@NiCu NCs was performed against ***,***,and MRSA ATCC BAA 1708,***(ATCC 27853),***(MTCC SM 497)strains compared with ampicillin antibiotic *** potent antibacterial activity is attributable to the synergistic apoptosis from Cu2þand bacter.

Given the great advancements in soft computing and data science,artificial neural network(ANN)has been explored and applied to handle complicated problems in the field of pavement *** study conducted a state-of-the-art review for surveying the recent progress of ANN application at different stages of pavement engineering,including pavement design,construction,inspection and monitoring,and *** study focused on the papers published over the last three decades,especially the studies conducted since *** literature retrieval,a total of 683 papers in this field were identified,among which 143 papers were selected for an in-depth *** ANN architectures used in these studies mainly included multi-layer perceptron neural network(MLPNN),convolutional neural network(CNN)and recurrent neural network(RNN)for processing one-dimensional data,two-dimensional data and time-series ***-based pavement health inspection and monitoring attracted the largest research interest due to its potential to replace human *** ANN has been proved to be an effective tool for pavement material design,cost analysis,defect detection and maintenance planning,it is facing huge challenges in terms of data collection,parameter optimization,model transferability and low-cost data *** attention should be paid to bring multidisciplinary techniques into pavement engineering to tackle existing challenges and widen future opportunities.
