Distributed Generation(DG)sources,predominantly renewable energy-based,such as solar photovoltaic and wind energy sources,have significantly penetrated into power system *** high penetration of DG sources may lead to the formation of unintentional islands,which is hazardous to both the equipment and personnel,if *** this paper,46 passive parameters are considered to find out which candidate(s)are promising for detecting sustained unintentional islands and avoid false DG *** 46 parameters are derived from point of common coupling(PCC)voltage,DG output current,frequency,power factor angle,active and reactive *** these parameters are tested on standard IEEE 13 and 34 bus distribution networks,integrated with inverter-interfaced DGs at different locations for different penetration levels in the MATLAB/SIMULINK *** parameters are tested for different islanding events(comprising of various local loads,such as conventional parallel RLC resonant load,R,RC,and RL loads)and for different non-islanding *** parameters are then ranked accordingly by a suitable averaging approach based performance ranking *** this analysis,the best candidates are obtained for detecting inverter DG islands at single-point(or single PCC)locations and multi-point(or multiple PCCs)*** best passive candidates are obtained for different island scenarios from which a set of promising islanding detection indicators are proposed.

A facile method for the carbonylative cycliza- tion of o-bromobenzoic acid with primary amine using Pd（OAC）2 as a metal precursor and 1, l′-bis（diphenylpho- sphino）ferrocene （dppf） as a ligand has been developed. The effect of various reaction parameters such as ligand, solvent, base, time and temperature on this cyclization was studied. The optimized protocol was used for a wide variety of substituted aryl amines with different steric and electronic properties, affording the corresponding isoindoline-l,3-diones in good to excellent yields under atmospheric pressure of carbon monoxide at 100℃ within 10h using 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane （DABCO） as a base. The reaction system finds attractive alternative to the conventional multistep synthetic process and thus repre- sents an effective utilization of carbonylative protocol for synthesis of valuable chemicals.

Effect of Gamma Irradiation on Total Phenolic Content and <i>in Vitro</i>Antioxidant Activity of Pomegranate (<i>Punica granatum</i>L.) Peels

Pomegranate peels were studied for the effect of gamma irradiation on microbial decontamination along with its effect on total phenolic content and in vitro antioxidant activity. Gamma irradiation was applied at various dose levels (5.0, 10.0, 15.0 and 25.0 kGy) on pomegranate peel powder. Both the values of total phenolic content and in vitro antioxi- dant activity were positively correlated and showed a significant increase (p < 0.05) for 10.0 kGy irradiated dose level immediately after irradiation and 60 days of post irradiation storage. At 5.0 kGy and above dose level, gamma irradia- tion has reduced microbial count of pomegranate peel powder to nil. Post irradiation storage studies also showed that, the irradiated peel powder was microbiologically safe even after 90 days of storage period.

A small focused library of eighteen new 1,2,3-triazole tethered acetophenones has been efficiently prepared via click chemistry approach and evaluated for their antifungal and antioxidant *** antifungal activity was evaluated against five human pathogenic fungal strains：Candida albicans,Fusarium oxysporum,Aspergillus flavus,Aspergillus niger,and Cryptococcus *** the synthesized compounds,9c,9i,and 9p found to be more potent antifungal agents that the reference *** 1,2,3-triazole based derivatives were also evaluated for antioxidant activity,and compound 9h was found to be the most potent antioxidant as compared to the standard ***,molecular docking study of the newly synthesized compounds was performed and results showed good binding mode in the active site of fungal *** enzyme P450 cytochrome ***,the synthesized compounds were also analyzed for ADME properties and showed potential as good oral drug candidates.
