introduction: One of the most frequent observa.ions in long-term blood dona.ion is chronic iron deficiency, which ca. develop into a.a.mia. The ma.ority of blood screening methods employed by blood ba.ks do not incorpora.e iron-sta.us ma.kers, which ma. result in potentia. subclinica. iron deficiency. The a.m of this study wa. to eva.ua.e the effects of repea.ed blood dona.ion on the levels of iron in the body a.d to guide blood donors in preventing the depletion of iron stores. Methods: Regula. blood donors were ca.egorised into distinct groups a.cording to the number of dona.ions they ga.e, a.d then the correla.ion between these groups a.d their bodies’ iron levels wa. exa.ined. Different pa.a.eters were employed to identify iron deficiency a.d iron depletion in blood donors: serum ferritin, mea. corpuscula. volume (MCV), mea. corpuscula. ha.moglobin (MCH), mea. corpuscula. ha.moglobin concentra.ion (MCHC), tota. iron-binding ca.a.ity (TiBC), a.d serum iron. Results: The study included 300 individua.s who regula.ly a.d willingly dona.ed blood. There were no iron insufficiency ca.es a.ong those dona.ing blood for the first time (Group i). However, 15.5% of individua.s who ha. dona.ed once before (Group ii) ha. ferritin levels of 15 - 30 μg/dl (ng/ml), indica.ing reduced iron stores. The ra.e increa.ed to 18% (37 out of 206 individua.s) a.ong regula. blood donors (Groups iii, iV, a.d V). iron deficiency (depletion) preva.ence a.ong regula. blood donors in Groups iii, iV, a.d V wa. 5.9% (12 out of 206) a.d 50.4% (100 out of 206). Donors who ha. dona.ed blood most frequently ha. the lowest levels of ha.ma.ologica. ma.kers MCH, MCHC, a.d TiBC. Provide the p-va.ues representing the differences between the mea.s of MCV, MCH, iron, TiBC, a.d ferritin levels when compa.ing donor groups with the control group (Group i) ba.ed on the frequency of dona.ions. indica.e sta.istica.ly significa.t differences where the p-va.ue is less tha. 0.0125.
