Over the past years,many efforts have been accomplished to achieve fast and accurate meta-heuristic algorithms to optimize a variety of real-world *** study presents a new optimization method based on an unusual geological phenomenon in nature,named Geyser inspired Algorithm(GEA).The mathematical modeling of this geological phenomenon is carried out to have a better understanding of the optimization *** efficiency and accuracy of GEA are verified using statistical examination and convergence rate comparison on numerous CEC 2005,CEC 2014,CEC 2017,and real-parameter benchmark ***,GEA has been applied to several real-parameter engineering optimization problems to evaluate its *** addition,to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of GEA,a comprehensive investigation is performed for a fair comparison with other standard optimization *** results demonstrate that GEA is noticeably prosperous in reaching the optimal solutions with a high convergence rate in comparison with other well-known nature-inspired algorithms,including ABC,BBO,PSO,and *** that the source code of the GEA is publicly available at https://***/projects/gea.

A Stacking Machine Learning Model for Student Performance Prediction Based on Class Activities in E-Learning

After the spread of COVID-19,e-learning systems have become crucial tools in educational systems worldwide,spanning all levels of *** widespread use of e-learning platforms has resulted in the accumulation of vast amounts of valuable data,making it an attractive resource for predicting student *** this study,we aimed to predict student performance based on the analysis of data collected from the OULAD and Deeds *** stacking method was employed for modeling in this *** proposed model utilized weak learners,including nearest neighbor,decision tree,random forest,enhanced gradient,simple Bayes,and logistic regression *** a trial-and-error process,the logistic regression algorithm was selected as the final learner for the proposed *** results of experiments with the above algorithms are reported separately for the pass and fail *** findings indicate that the accuracy of the proposed model on the OULAD dataset reached 98%.Overall,the proposed method improved accuracy by 4%on the OULAD dataset.

Highly efficient vanadium redox flow batteries enabled by a trilayer polybenzimidazole membrane assembly

A novel polybenzimidazole(PBI)-based trilayer membrane assembly is developed for application in vanadium redox flow battery(VRFB).The membrane comprises a 1μm thin cross-linked poly[2,2′-(p-oxydiphenylene)−5,5′-bibenzimidazole](OPBI)sandwiched between two 20μm thick porous OPBI membranes(p-OPBI)without further lamination *** trilayer membrane demonstrates exceptional properties,such as high conductivity and low area-specific resistance(ASR)of 51 mS cm−1 and 81mΩcm^(2),*** with vanadium electrolyte increases the ASR of trilayer membrane only to 158mΩcm^(2),while that of Nafion is 193mΩcm^(2).VO^(2+)permeability is 2.73×10^(-9) cm^(2) min^(−1),about 150 times lower than that of Nafion *** addition,the membrane has high mechanical strength and high chemical stability against VO^(2+).In VRFB,the combination of low resistance and low vanadium permeability results in excellent performance,revealing high Coulombic efficiency(>99%),high energy efficiency(EE;90.8%at current density of 80mA cm^(−2)),and long-term *** EE is one of the best reported to date.

The Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)is a swarm intelligence metaheuristic inspired by the bubble-net hunting tactic of humpback *** spite of its popularity due to simplicity,ease of implementation,and a limited number of parameters,WOA’s search strategy can adversely affect the convergence and equilibrium between exploration and exploitation in complex *** address this limitation,we propose a new algorithm called Multi-trial Vector-based Whale Optimization Algorithm(MTV-WOA)that incorporates a Balancing Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(BS_TVP),a Local Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(LS_TVP),and a Global Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(GS_TVP)to address real-world optimization problems of varied degrees of ***-WOA has the potential to enhance exploitation and exploration,reduce the probability of being stranded in local optima,and preserve the equilibrium between exploration and *** the purpose of evaluating the proposed algorithm's performance,it is compared to eight metaheuristic algorithms utilizing CEC 2018 test ***,MTV-WOA is compared with well-stablished,recent,and WOA variant *** experimental results demonstrate that MTV-WOA surpasses comparative algorithms in terms of the accuracy of the solutions and convergence ***,we conducted the Friedman test to assess the gained results statistically and observed that MTV-WOA significantly outperforms comparative ***,we solved five engineering design problems to demonstrate the practicality of *** results indicate that the proposed MTV-WOA can efficiently address the complexities of engineering challenges and provide superior solutions that are superior to those of other algorithms.

Haptic is the modality that complements traditional multimedia,i.e.,audiovisual,to evolve the next wave of innovation at which the Internet data stream can be exchanged to enable remote skills and control *** will require ultra-low latency and ultra-high reliability to evolve the mobile experience into the era of Digital Twin and Tactile *** the 5th generation of mobile networks is not yet widely deployed,Long-Term Evolution(LTE-A)latency remains much higher than the 1 ms requirement for the Tactile Internet and therefore the Digital *** work investigates an interesting solution based on the incorporation of Software-defined networking(SDN)and Multi-access Mobile Edge Computing(MEC)technologies in an LTE-A network,to deliver future multimedia applications over the Tactile Internet while overcoming the QoS *** network scenarios were designed and simulated using Riverbed modeler and the performance was evaluated using several time-related Key Performance Indicators(KPIs)such as throughput,End-2-End(E2E)delay,and *** best scenario possible is clearly the one integrating MEC and SDN approaches,where the overall delay,jitter,and throughput for haptics-attained 2 ms,0.01 ms,and 1000 packets per *** results obtained give clear evidence that the integration of,both SDN and MEC,in LTE-A indicates performance improvement,and fulfills the standard requirements in terms of the above KPIs,for realizing a Digital Twin/Tactile Internet-based system.

Corneal diseases,the second leading cause of global vision loss affecting over 10.5 million people,underscores the unmet demand for corneal tissue *** the scarcity of fresh donor corneas and the associated risks of immune rejection,corneal tissue engineering becomes *** nanofibrous scaffolds that mimic the natural corneal structure is crucial for creating transparent and mechanically robust corneal equivalents in tissue ***,Aloe Vera Extract(AVE)/Polycaprolactone(PCL)nanofibrous scaffolds were primed using *** electrospun AVE/PCL fibers exhibit a smooth,bead-free morphology with a mean diameter of approximately 340±95 nm and appropriate light *** measurements reveal Young’s modulus and ultimate tensile strength values of around 3.34 MPa and 4.58 MPa,respectively,within the range of stromal *** addition,cell viability of AVE/PCL fibers was measured against Human Stromal Keratocyte Cells(HSKCs),and improved cell viability was *** cell-fiber interactions were investigated using scanning electron *** conclusion,the incorporation of Aloe Vera Extract enhances the mechanical,optical,hydrophilic,and biological properties of PCL fibers,positioning PCL/AVE fiber scaffolds as promising candidates for corneal stromal regeneration.

Levisticum officinale extract protects against CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity through anti-inflammatory,anti-fibrotic,and antioxidant properties in rats

Objective:To investigate the hepatoprotective effects of Levisticum officinale extract on CCl4-induced ***:Different doses of Levisticum officinale extract were given orally to rats for 10 days,then rats received a single dose of CCl4(2.5 mL/kg,50%v/v in liquid paraffin).Biochemical and histopathological assays were performed to assess the effects of the extract on liver function and ***,antioxidant and oxidative markers as well as inflammatory and fibrotic indicators were ***:Pretreatment with Levisticum officinale extract significantly mitigated CCl4-induced damage to liver structure,improved serum levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatase,urea,total bilirubin,and total protein,enhanced glutathione content and superoxide dismutase and catalase activities in the liver,as well as decreased plasma and hepatic malondialdehyde *** results demonstrated that the extract reduced Ki-67 andα-SMA expression and Masson’s trichrome staining revealed decreased liver collagen in rats treated with Levisticum officinale ***,Levisticum officinale extract markedly decreased the gene expressions of TNF-α,IL-6,TGF-β1,MCP-1,and ***:Levisticum officinale extract exerts hepatoprotective effects on CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity through antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,and anti-fibrotic activities.

Respiratory complications of propofol,sevoflurane,and dexmedetomidine anesthesia for fiberoptic bronchoscopy in children aged 1 month to 3 years:a randomized trial

Objective To evaluate the effect of propofol,sevoflurane,and dexmedetomidine on respiratory complications inchildren undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy(FOB).Methods This double-blind randomized clinical trial was conductedamong 120 children aged 1 month to 3 years undergoing *** patients were randomized into 3 groups(n=40)foranesthesia induction with sevoflurane inhalation,1 mg/kg propofol,or 1μg/kg dexmedetomidine before bronchoscopy,andthe changes in hemodynamic parameters,sedation level,and respiratory complications during and after the procedure *** The patients'heart rate during bronchoscopy was significantly lower and the mean arterial blood pressuresignificantly higher in dexmedetomidine group than in sevoflurane and propofol groups(P<0.05).Cough duringbronchoscopy did not occur in any of the cases in propofol group,while the highest frequency of cough was recorded indexmedetomidine *** incidence of laryngospasm in the propofol group(12.5%)was significantly lower than those insevoflurane and dexmedetomidine groups(30%and 32.5%,respectively)(P<0.05).Conclusion Sevoflurane and propofol aresafe and suitable for anesthesia induction in children below 3 years of age undergoing diagnostic FOB and can achieve bettersedative effect and lower the incidences of cough and respiratory complications as compared with dexmedetomidine.

城市道路的目标识别和监测技术是计算机视觉领域的关键研究途径,在日常生活中得到了广泛应用。人类探测作为主要焦点,具有独特的特征,将目标的典型属性与无与伦比的可变性相结合。因此,与行人检测和跟踪相关的技术挑战超过了普通目标所面临的挑战,这使得这一主题变得特别复杂和苛刻。对这一主题的探索不仅具有科学研究意义,而且具有相当大的社会应用价值。智能汽车技术的快速发展导致了解决城市道路交通复杂性的范式转变。本文介绍了新能源智能汽车领域内交通识别系统的一种开创性方法,利用最先进的深度学习算法。本研究强调YOLO v8(You Only Look Once)和DETR(Detection Transformer)的融合,推动了物体检测的前沿,特别是在自动驾驶汽车的背景下。使用深度学习算法进行城市道路交通监测面临着一些挑战,包括高计算需求、实时处理要求、多样化和复杂的城市环境,以及对物体检测和分类的高精度要求。像Faster R-CNN这样的传统模型虽然准确,但计算密集且速度较慢,因此不太适合实时应用。DETR以其基于转换器的架构提供了稳健的特征提取,但可能会在速度和复杂性方面遇到困难。YOLO模型效率高、速度快,适用于实时检测,但它们可能会为速度牺牲一些准确性。所提出的DETR-YOLO v8n融合模型旨在通过将DETR的鲁棒特征提取的优势与YOLO v8n的实时检测能力相结合来解决这些问题。这种融合利用注意力机制来突出相关特征,在不显著影响速度的情况下提高准确性。通过集成这些方法,DETR-YOLO v8n Fusion模型提供了一个平衡的解决方案,可以提高检测精度,保持实时处理,并有效地导航城市道路环境的复杂性,从而改善整体交通监控和管理。这项研究错综复杂地探索了YOLO v8的细微改进,展示了其在城市道路交通场景中的卓越性能。细化的锚盒预测细化了空间定位,而特征金字塔网络增强了模型在不同尺度上辨别物体的能力。先进的主干架构增强了特征提取,从而增强了网络的整体辨别能力。所提出的系统以YOLO v8和DETR的融合为基础,强调了其在复杂交通环境中显著提高新能源智能汽车安全性和有效性的潜力。这项研究不仅有助于新兴的智能交通解决方案领域,而且有助于不断完善自动驾驶汽车的目标检测机制。这些发现强调了接受YOLO v8进化改进的关键性,为追求智能和响应能力强的城市交通系统的先进识别系统树立了新的基准。近年来,深度学习的出现在计算机视觉方面取得了重大进展,特别是在目标检测精度方面。然而,深度模型的复杂性阻碍了检测速度的提高,再加上硬件需求的提高,从而阻碍了其对行人检测和跟踪的适用性。因此,本文对行人检测与跟踪进行了全面的研究。这项研究的高潮涉及对峰值响应和目标损失之间相关性的检查。在本文中,我们使用最新的YOLO v8升级了这三项改进,用于城市道路的交通监控。*** v8引入了精细的锚盒预测,增强了空间定位,以更精确地识别对象位置。这一改进对于智能汽车在复杂城市环境中的精确导航至关重要。2.在YOLO v8中引入特征金字塔网络解决了多尺度检测中的挑战。这种增强使该模型能够有效地识别和分类不同大小的对象,确保在不同的交通场景中具有强大的检测能力。*** v8的高级骨干架构提高了特征提取效率,捕捉了复杂的细节和上下文信息。这一改进提高了模型的鉴别力,特别是在具有挑战性的城市道路交通条件下,从而提高了物体检测任务的整体性能。在我之前的研究中,我使用Tensor Flow深度学习框架,来完成网络模型的设计与训练。为了验证本文提出模型的可行性与检测效果,将本文算法的检测实验结果与当前常见的目标检测算法进行对比分析,对比的算法包括SSD、YOLO V3和GANet(Guided Attention Net Work),在相同数据集进行对比,检测准确率结果如下:SSD模型的平均查准率为68.2%,YOLO V3网络模型的平均查准率为73.8%,GANet网络模型的平均查准率为76.8%:而本文采用的Faster R-CNN平均查准率为86.3%。由此可知,Faster R-CNN网络模型在城市道路目标检测准确.在智能汽车自动驾驶道路智能识别实验中,本文改进了DETR(Detection Transformer)网络结构,并与其他常见的识别算法,如Faster R-CNN、YOLO(You Only Look Once)和SSD(Single Shot Multi Box Detector)进行了对比。在我之前的研究中,它的结果如下,以评价指标的数据说明:(1)准确率(Precision):指模型检测到的物体中真实物体的比例。综合了测试集上的准确率结果,DETR网络达到了90%的准确率,超过了Faster R-CNN和YOL
