Congestion Pricing of Urban Street Segments along with MRT Route—The Case Study of Dhaka, Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh’s capital, already has a congestion problem to handle the ever-growing demand for traffic. The usage of private cars cannot be stopped by charging and the town is not encouraged by quality public transport. It is impossible to enforce congestion prices here in line with traditional cordon pricing systems since the region uses unusual land patterns. However, the current project Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line 6, which will be built by 2021, provides the prospect of congestion pricing. A price and optimum approach were established for this article. The congestion price is only payable for the segments and is accessible for private cars under this system. Two urban street segments along the MRT route were selected for the study and congestion toll for a private car is estimated for each segment separately. The sum of the toll in monetary terms is determined using certain associated parameters from the discrepancy from the actual Level of Service (LOS) travel time and traffic flow to the desired LOS. The outcome has shown that the price per passenger car is $0.3 - $0.44. The price is flexible, which means it will vary based on traffic volume. The findings for politicians to enforce congestion pricing are viewed as recommendations.

Objective:To investigation of cytotoxic,antimicrobial and analgesic activities of different fractions of Rhaphidophora glauca(Wall.)***:Two partially purified aqueous methanolic fractions from ethyl acetate extract(AMF-1)and chloroform extract(AMF-2)obtained from the partitioning were used in *** cytotoxic effect was determined by brine shrimp lethality *** activity was investigated by disc diffusion and minimal inhibitory concentration *** plate method and acetic acid test was used for determining analgesic ***:The LC_(50)values of AMF-1 and AMF-2 were found to be 287.73 and 428.54μg/mL respectively,where colchicines showed LC_(50)of 11.16μg/*** zone of inhibition of the fractions AMF-1 and AMF-2 was found to be in the range of 8-26 mm in 2000μg/disc,as compared to reference antibiotics kanamycin(11-28 mm at 30μg/disc)and ciprofloxacin(20-25 mm at 30μg/disc)indicating the antibacterial *** hot plate test,the highest pain inhibitory activity was found at a dose of 250 mg/kg for AMF-1 which was statistically significant(P<0.05)compared to both positive and negative control at 30 min *** acid induced model,both AMF-1 and AMF-2 at a dose of 500 mg/kg showed significant activity compared to positive and negative ***:This study found that Rhaphidophora glauca possesses potential cytotoxic,antibacterial and analgesic *** study may be needed to isolate the bioactive compounds responsible for different activities with subsequent mechanistic study.

Techniques of High Tibial Osteotomy: A Review

Main intention of the research is to understand about significance of techniques associated with HTO. This research reviewed the techniques of high tibial osteotomy namely high tibial osteotomy, open wedge high tibial osteotomy, closedhigh tibial osteotomy. Patients who are suffering from knee arthritis, high tibial osteotomy assists to prevent or delay the requirement for total or partial replacement of knee to preserve damaged tissue of joint. High tibial osteotomy technique is mainly suitable for active and young patients with knee osteoarthritis. Age plays a main factor in success rate of high tibial osteotomy technique. It could be done in open wedge or closed wedge high tibial osteotomy. For some cases, surgery could be done in combined method (open wedge and closed wedge high tibial osteotomy). When compared with clinical outcomes of closed wedge high tibial osteotomy and open wedge high tibial osteotomy, open wedge high tibial osteotomy performs well in reducing the pain, duration of weight-bearing and return to normal life as soon as possible.

We propose a new algorithm,named Asymmetric Genetic Algorithm(AGA),for solving optimization problems of steel *** AGA consists of a developed penalty function,which helps to find the best generation of the *** objective function is to minimize the weight of the whole steel structure under the constraint of ultimate loads defined for structural steel buildings by the American Institute of Steel Construction(AISC).Design variables are the cross-sectional areas of elements(beams and columns)that are selected from the sets of side-flange shape steel sections provided by the *** finite element method(FEM)is utilized for analyzing the behavior of steel frames.A 15-storey three-bay steel planar frame is optimized by AGA in this study,which was previously optimized by algorithms such as Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),Particle Swarm Optimizer with Passive Congregation(PSOPC),Particle Swarm Ant Colony Optimization(HPSACO),Imperialist Competitive Algorithm(ICA),and Charged System Search(CSS).The results of AGA such as total weight of the structure and number of analyses are compared with the results of these *** performs better in comparison to these algorithms with respect to total weight and number of *** addition,five numerical examples are optimized by AGA,Genetic Algorithm(GA),and optimization modules of SAP2000,and the results of them are *** results show that AGA can decrease the time of analyses,the number of analyses,and the total weight of the *** decreases the total weight of regular and irregular steel frame about 11.1%and 26.4%in comparing with the optimized results of SAP2000,respectively.

Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome (SRUS) is an uncommon disorder of defecation. Its management is usually unsatisfactory and responds best to surgery especially when there is rectal prolapse. There is a new report of the use of Argon plasma coagulation (APC) to enhance healing of these ulcers & control its bleeding in a study involving 16 patients. We involved a larger number of 18 patients in this case series to examine the role of APC in enhancing healing of SRUS & control its bleeding.

The study was undertaken for understanding the potential of deep aquifers as a source of safe drinking water and for assessing the status of groundwater aquifer near Madunaghat area, Chattogram. The specific issues are salinity, interconnectivity of the shallow and deep aquifers, mixing of groundwater with the adjacent Halda river water, recharge condition and groundwater age. The isotopic data suggest that most of the groundwater results from a mixture between recent recharge and an older component recharge under climatic conditions cooler than at present. The interconnectivity between shallow aquifers and river waters are mostly found in the line wells installed particularly in shallow depth (16 m) close to Halda river as evidenced from the similar tritium values of sampled line well water with that of the Halda river water. The groundwater in Madunaghat well field area is not affected by salinity, as it is evidenced by higher values of Na/Cl ratio of the groundwater samples compared to the sea water fresh water mixing line. The geochemistry of intermediate and deep groundwater is dominated by Na-Mg-HCO3 and Na-HCO3 type waters. Even the relationship between chloride and oxygen-18 (Cl-δ18O) depicts that the waters from the deep, intermediate and shallow wells do not fall on the seawater mixing line. The Carbon-14 contents of intermediate to deep groundwater samples vary from 16.2 to 59.3 pMC indicating the residence time in the range of 4300 to 15,000 years BP, i.e., the sourced water recharged the aquifers a long time ago. The intermediate and deep wells have water with arsenic concentrations less than the detection limit of 3.0 μg/L. Only a few shallow wells have arsenic concentrations greater than the detection limit varying from 13.7 - 47.4 μg/L, which is less than the DoE permissible limit (50 μg/L) implying that the groundwater at Madunaghat area is not affected by Arsenic contamination.

Type-2 Fuzzy Control for a Flexible-joint Robot Using Voltage Control Strategy

ype-1 fuzzy sets cannot fully handle the uncertainties. To overcome the problem, type2 fuzzy sets have been proposed. The novelty of this paper is using interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller （IT2FLC） to control a flexible-joint robot with voltage control strategy. In order to take into account the whole robotic system including the dynamics of actuators and the robot manipulator, the voltages of motors are used as inputs of the system. To highlight the capabilities of the control system, a flexible joint robot which is highly nonlinear, heavily coupled and uncertain is used. In addition, to improve the control performance, the parameters of the primary membership functions of IT2FLC are optimized using particle swarm optimization （PSO）. A comparative study between the proposed IT2FLC and type-1 fuzzy logic controller （T1FLC） is presented to better assess their respective performance in presence of external disturbance and unmodelled dynamics. Stability analysis is presented and the effectiveness of the proposed control approach is demonstrated by simulations using a two-link flexible-joint robot driven by permanent magnet direct current motors. Simulation results show the superiority of the IT2FLC over the T1FLC in terms of accuracy, robustness and interpretability.
