Arsenic(As)is carcinogenic and highly toxic to *** accumulate As when grown in field soils irrigated with As-contaminated *** accumulation of As in roots,shoots,and grains of pea varieties can negatively affect human health via the food *** research is focused on the biomass growth and alleviation of As accumulation in roots,shoots,and grains of pea varieties in high As soil amended with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF),biochar(BC),selenium(Se),silica gel(Si-gel),and sulfur(S).Root,shoot,and grain masses were found higher in pea grown in As soil amended with AMF,Se,Si-gel,and *** with rice husk and sawdust BC was found less effective to increase growth parameters in Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute(BARI)Motor *** in grains was reduced by 77%,71%,and 69%by AMF,Se,and Si-gel,*** is recommended that soil amendments with AMF,S,and Se have great potential for improving biomass production of pea grown in As-contaminated soil,as well as reducing As transfer to humans through the food chains.

Genetic diversity is one of the useful tools to select appropriate lines for hybridization. Twenty short-statured maize inbred lines were taken for present study, which were collected from CIMMYT India and Mexico through Plant Breeding Division, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Gazipur. This experiment was conducted from November 2015 to April 2016 to identify parental lines to produce single cross short statured maize hybrids. From the genetic diversity studies, the importance of both additive and non-additive gene actions for the expression of yield and yield contributing characters were found. Values of vector I and II revealed that both the vectors had positive values for date of silking, plant height, rows/cob, grains/row and yield. This paper presents an analysis of the effect of parasitic resistances on the performance of DC-DC Single Ended Pri- mary Inductor Converter (SEPIC) in photovoltaic maximum power point tracking (MPPT) applications. The energy storage elements incorporated in the SEPIC converter possess parasitic resistances. Although ideal components significantly simplifies model development, but neglecting the parasitic effects in models may sometimes lead to failure in predicting first scale stability and actual performance. Therefore, the effects of parasitics have been taken into consideration for improving the model accuracy, stability, robustness and dynamic performance analysis of the converter. Detail mathematical model of SEPIC converter including inductive parasitic has been developed. The performance of the converter in tracking MPP at different irradiance levels has been analyzed for variation in parasitic resistance. The converter efficiency has been found above 83% for insolation level of 600 W/m2 when the parasitic resistance in the energy storage element has been ignored. However, as the parasitic resistance of both of the inductor has increased to 1 ohm, a fraction of the power managed by the converter has dissipated;as a result the efficiency of the converter has reduced to 78% for the same insolation profile. Although the increasing value of the parasitic has assisted the converter to converge quickly to reach the maximum power point. Furthermore it has also been observed that the peak to peak load current ripple is reduced. The obtained simulation results have validated the competent of the MPPT converter model.

Bangladesh, a developing country, gained success towards the fifth-millennium development goals target of reducing its maternal mortality ratio by three quarters by 2015, but yet worked more on it for further reduction of maternal mortality. In this light, though Bangladesh is committed to the sustainable development goals target of reducing its maternal mortality ratio to be reduced from 170 to 105 per 100,000 live births, the scope of research on this issue is limited because the maternal morbidity data is scarce in Bangladesh. In this paper, the prospective data on maternal morbidity in rural Bangladesh (collected by BIRPERHT) have been employed to trace out the high-risk and life-threatening factors associated with pregnancy-related complications. The subject-specific generalized estimating equations (SS-GEE) model with random effect structure is used for multivariate binary data for the repeated observations. The findings indicate that the risk of suffering from pregnancy complications is higher for high economic status, lower age at marriage, not visited for medical check-ups, outside home workers, and having miscarriage or abortion. Comparing the SS-GEE model with other correlation structures and relative efficiency factors, the SS-GEE model with random effect structure is well fitted for the prospective repeated observation data.

Einstein’s field equations with variable gravitational and cosmological constants are considered in presence of perfect fluid for locally-rotationally-symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type-V space-time discussion in context of the particle creation. We present new shear free solutions for both absence and presence of particle creation. The solution describes the particle and entropy generation in the anisotropic cosmological models. We observe that time variation of gravitational and cosmological constant is needed for particle creation phenomena. Moreover, we obtained the particle production rate Γ(t) for this model and discussed in detail.

Objective: To examine immobilization stress-induced antioxidant defense alterations in rat kidney and the antioxidant effects of aqueous garlic extract in pre and post stress extract treatments. Methods: Albino rats were treated with aqueous extract of garlic both before and 6 h of immobilization stress. Pro-oxidant eminence of rat kidney was assessed by determining the levels of glutathione, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, glucose, uric acid, alkaline phosphatase and antioxidant enzymes activities. Results: In response to 6 h of immobilization stress, a significant rise in the level of kidney enzymes was recorded. However, antioxidant enzyme activities showed a sharp decline. Conclusions: The extract treatment before and after the stress reverted the activities of above mentioned enzymes towards their control values. Hence, garlic extract can be given as nutritional supplement for scavenging the free radicals generated in rat kidney.

Purpose:Identification of sex of unknown people becomes important in situations of mass *** studies have shown that morphological characteristic of frontal sinus is distinctive to particular individual and hence,literature suggests that it can be used in establishing identification of a ***,few researches have concluded that,its use in detennining sexual dimorphism is ***:This study aimed to evaluate frontal sinus index using cone beam computed tomography(CBCT)and differentiate sex dimorphism based on the index *** and Methods:A retrospective cross-sectional study was undertaken using three-dimensional-CBCT *** simple random sampling method,150 scans were selected,out of which 74 were of male and 76 were of female within the age group of20-64 *** frontal sinus width and the height were measured,and the ratio was taken as frontal sinus *** index was correlated to the differentiation of *** were analyzed using SPSS,and sex dimorphism was assessed using discriminant function ***:The mean height of the frontal sinus in both males and females was 30.12±7.6 mm and 30.14±7.8 mm,*** mean width of frontal sinus in males(13.39±3.6 mm)was slightly more than that of females(12.06±3 mm).Conclusion:The parameter frontal sinus index measured using CBCT was found to be a contributing factor in sex determination in forensic identification within the sample population.

The study was performed with seven groundnut varieties/genotypes and F1s derived from crossing in all possible combinations without reciprocal among the mentioned varieties/genotypes. The objective was to assess whether low Ca2＋ content and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratio of leaf tissue or stem tissue determine salinity tolerance in terms of economic yield （kernel yield） in groundnut. It revealed that the varieties, “Binachinabadam-6”, “Binachinabadam-5” and the F1 G2 × G3 were most tolerant based on kernel yield under 8 dS/m and 10 dS/m salinity stresses. These two tolerant varieties and the F1 also showed lower Ca2＋ and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratios in leaf tissue, which indicated lower Ca2＋ and Ca2＋/Na＋ ratio of leaf tissue determined salinity tolerance in terms of kernel yield in Spanish type groundnut. These findings could be applied in future plant breeding applications for screening salt tolerant Spanish type groundnut genotypes.
