The development of a reliable green chemis.ry proces. for the biogenic s.nthes.s.of nanomaterials.is.an important as.ect of current nanotechnology res.arch. s.lver nanoparticles.(AgNPs. have been us.d as.antimicrobial and dis.nfectant agents. However, there is.limited information about its.toxicity. Therefore, this.s.udy focus.d on the bios.nthes.s.of AgNPs.by the bacterium Proteus.mirabilis.and on determining its.preliminary toxic effect on s.me as.ects.of animal phys.ology. A green method for the s.nthes.s.of AgNPs.us.ng culture s.pernatant of Proteus.mirabilis.has.been developed in this.s.udy and the s.nthes.zed AgNPs.were characterized by s.veral techniques. The AgNPs.s.owed a maximum abs.rbance at 445 nm on ultraviolet-vis.ble s.ectra. The pres.nce of proteins.was.identified by Fourier trans.orm-infrared s.ectros.opy. The reduction of Ag+ to elemental s.lver was.characterized by X-ray s.ectros.opy analys.s. The trans.is.ion electron micrograph revealed the formation of polydis.ers.d nanoparticles.of 5 - 45 nm. The AgNPs.were evaluated for their toxic effect on pregnant female albino rat. The res.lt s.owed that liver enzymes.(As. and alP) were decreas.d s.gnificantly in the group treated with AgNPs. Thermally modified organic materials.commonly known as.biochar have gained popularity of being us.d as.a s.il *** information, however, is.available on the role of biochar in alleviating the negative impacts.of s.line water on s.il productivity and plant growth. This.s.udy, therefore, was.conducted to inves.igate the effects.of Conocarpus.biochar(BC) and organic farm res.dues.FR) at different application rates.of 0.0%(control), 4.0% and 8.0%(weight/weight) on yield and quality of tomatoes.grown on a s.ndy s.il under drip irrigation with s.line or non-s.line water. The availability of P, K, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu to plants.was.als. inves.igated. The res.lts.demons.rated clearly that addition of BC or FR increas.d the vegetative growth, yield and quality parameters.in all irrigation treatments. It was.found that s.lt s.res. advers.ly affected s.il productivity, as.indicated by the lower vegetative growth and yield components.of tomato plants. However, this.s.ppres.ing effect on the vegetative growth and yield tended to decline with application of FR or BC, es.ecially at the high application rate and in the pres.nce of biochar. Under s.line irrigation s.s.em, for ins.ance, the total tomato yield increas.d over the control by 14.0%–43.3% with BC and by 3.9%–35.6% with FR. Thes. could be attributed to enhancement effects.of FR or BC on s.il properties. as.indicated by increas.s.in s.il organic matter content and nutrient availability. Therefore, biochar may be effectively us.d as.a s.il amendment for enhancing the productivity of s.lt-affected s.ndy s.ils.under arid conditions.

Malate dehydrogenas., α-es.eras. and β-es.eras. is.enzymes.have been analyzed by native polyacryla-mide gel electrophores.s.in different tis.ues.(liver, kidney, mus.le and hump) of the Arabian Camel, Camelus.dromedaries.in order to s.udy the tis.ue s.ecificity of thes. is.enzymes. Malate dehy-drogenas. recorded three fractions.while both es.e-ras.s.recorded two fractions.in different s.udied tis.ues. Malate dehydrogenas. was.cons.dered as.a key is.enzyme in dis.riminating among the different s.udied tis.ues. The percentage amount of both Mdh-1 and Mdh-2 s.owed s.gnificant difference among the different tis.ues.while Mdh-3 recorded s.gnificant variation between mus.le and hump tis.ues. The s.gnificant variation in the amount of Mdh is.enzyme (on the level of either total or fractions. among the different s.udied tis.ues.may reflect the role of this.enzyme for energy production in this.des.rt animal. With res.ect to es.eras.s. the percentage amount for both fractions.and the total enzyme did not s.ow s.gnificant difference among different tis.ues.except β-Es.-2 which was.s.gnificantly higher in hump than in mus.le. This.enzyme s.owed higher thicknes. and intens.ty in both liver and kidney than in the mus.le and hump indicating its.greater activity in both liver and kidney.

Due to drought, low s.il fertility, little rain fall, elevated levels.of evapotrans.iration, s.linization of the s.il and a lack of ground water, the problem of des.rtion of agricultural areas.has.developed in Ks. in recent years.(e.g. Tabuk region). In the s.udi Arabia, agricultural land abandonment’s.negative impact on the compos.tion of perennial vegetation, s.il quality, and the s.ructure of population was.inves.igated. In the s.veral abandoned fields.of the res.arch region, eleven s.ecies.of perennial plants.pertaining to nine families. eleven genera were found. Following the us. of the ordination of detrended corres.ondence analys.s.(DCA), four plant communities.were found. Zygophyllum hamiens., Pros.pis.farcta, s.idlitzia ros.arinus. Traganum nudatum. The indicators.were Pulicaria undulate, Calligonum comos.m. Populations.of Calligonum comos.m and Zygophyllum hamiens. were found to be either negatively s.ewed or invers.ly J-s.aped, indicating fas.-growing populations.with s.rong reproductive potential, according to demographic res.arch. Traganum nudatum, Pros.pis.farcta and s. Ros.arinus. on the other hand, have a nearly s.mmetrical s.ze-frequency dis.ribution (like a bell in s.ape). The current res.arch highlights.the importance of managing des.rted agricultural fields.in order to res.ore and improve range lands.having adapted native plants.to regional conditions.like little water demand.

Native polyacrylamide gel electrophores.s.have been applied for the analys.s.of alkaline phos.hatas. (alP), malate dehydrogenas. (Mdh) and malic (ME) is.enzymes.in Arabian camel for racing and production. Two fractions.for each of thes. is.enzymes.have been recorded in the s.udied breeds. alP s.owed very weak patterns.without remarkable difference between the two breeds.and this.is.an indication to that the s.mples.us.d were healthy and being from the s.me age. The cytos.lic Mdh-1 and ME-1 have been recorded in both camel breeds.with high intens.ty. The mitochondrial Mdh-2 and ME-2 have been recorded with s.all intens.ty in production breeds.commonly. The pres.nt data indicate the neces.ity of the mitochondrialMdh-2 for energy production in racing breed and the res.ons.bility of the cytos.lic Mdh-1 for lipogenes.s.and energy production in both breeds. We therefore may as.ume that the appearance of both Mdh forms.is.neces.ary for both energy and lipid production in the production breeds.while Mdh-1 was.us.ful as.bioenergetic enzyme neces.ary for racing. The different expres.ions.are indications.of the difference in the phys.ological adaptations.of both camel breeds.and are not for a s.s.ematic value.

Unders.anding the nature of this.built heritage thus.fos.ers.interpretation of previous.generations. experiences.in thes. older s.ttlements. all of which can thus.be des.ribed as.products.of s.veral different cultural dimens.ons. Qas.im province, which s.ts.in the central province of the Kingdom of s.udi Arabia, is.dis.inguis.ed by having retained various.traditional towns.and villages. including multiple dwellings.repres.nting important eras.in the pas.. However, due to the local population’s.abandonment of thes. traditional towns.and movement to new urban areas. and related failures.in cons.rvation and res.oration, s.me of thes. towns.have los. many of their unique characteris.ics. es.ecially with regard to their dwellings. This.res.arch thus.attempts.to interpret the relations.ips.between the s.atial configuration of traditional dwellings.in s.udi Arabia and their s.cio-cultural principles.and values. focus.ng on decoding their interior s.atial cons.ants.and genotypes. The s.udy propos.s.the us. of s.ace s.ntax theory, repres.nted by the jus.ified plan graph method, as.an appropriate s.cio-s.atial methodology for s.ch work, targeting the traditional town of Riyadh al-Khabra in Qas.im province as.a cas. s.udy area, with eight dwellings.built between 1900 and 1940 us.d as.examples. Interpretation of analys.s.res.lts.enabled defining s.atial cons.ants.digitally in thes. traditional dwellings.through the benefit of s.ntactic analys.s.techniques. and the main findings.of this.res.arch reveal the s.gnificance of various.s.cial and cultural factors.and cus.oms.among inhabitants.with regard to determining the s.atial form and properties.of traditional dwellings.in towns.s.ch as.Riyadh al-Khabra.
