Wilt complex disease of eggplant is a severe problem in Bangladesh as well as in the world. The pathogenic variability and their survival nature make the disease complex. The pathogen includes a fungus (Fusarium oxysporum), a bacterium (Ralstonia solanacearum) and a nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) that attack the plant individually or combinedly. The present investigation aimed to evaluate the integrated effects of different chemicals, poultry manure and Trichoderma harzianum to manage the disease. Carbendazim (Autostin 50WP), Streptomycin sulphate 9% and Tetracycline hydrochloride 1% (Krosin 10SP) and Carbofuran (Furadan 3G) were used as a fungicide, bactericide and nematicide, respectively which were integrated with poultry manure and Trichoderma harzianum resulting in sixteen treatments. The treatment efficacy varied significantly in comparison to control in respect of wilt incidence, yield and yield contributing characters. No wilt incidence was observed where Trichoderma harzianum was applied individually or in combination with Furadan 3G, Krosin 10SP, Autostin 50WP and poultry manure. Among expert scientists and politicians, there is increasing agreement that it is absolutely necessary to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas (GHG) to lessen the severity of climate change. Although little, renewable energy sources currently reduce GHG that are being emitted from the energy industries. According to the majority of long-term energy estimates, renewable energy will be a substantial addition to the supply of energy worldwide by the end of this century, as capacity of renewable energy is gradually increasing in the early decades. However, developing nations like Bangladesh are largely reliant on pricey imported energy supplies (coal, gas, and oil) that lay a heavy weight on the country’s economy. Also, air pollution growing in importance as a national and international environmental issue. Regarding the development of clean and sustainable energy, renewable energy sources seem to be among the most practical and efficient alternatives, in both Bangladesh and globally. The geographic advantages of Bangladesh allow for widespread usage of the majority of such renewable energy sources. The comparative potential and use of fossil fuels against renewable energy sources globally and in Bangladesh is explored in this review.

A study on infectious bursal disease virus(IBDV)on chickens of Cobb-500 strain broiler breed at Thakurgaon district of Bangladesh was *** protective antibody was measured on one day old chicks(DOC)and post-vaccinated(PV)flocks up to 75 weeks by indirect enzyme linked-immunosorbent assay(I-ELISA).The assays have included five flocks with vaccination historic against IBDV contained 45,000 birds with age ranging from DOC to 75 weeks,just before *** derived antibody(MDA)mean titer(MT)ranged from 3,395 to 5,*** antibody from serum samples(N=92 per flock)were titer tested by I-ELISA at age 14 d,5,8,23,50 and 75 weeks of each vaccinated *** titer level gradually decreased before *** done by intermediate plus vaccine resulting titers level was increased and stayed at the same *** antibody MT at the 14th day was 500,which supported Deventer *** protective antibody MT was declined at growing,laying,mid laying and last stage of laying *** MDA titer was enough in offspring that could protect birds easily.

Microspheres of Al have been successfully fabricated utilizing electromigration using sudden change in geometrical shape of a specimen. The experimental sample was a passivated Al line with a hole at the transitional area of the sample. The hole was used to control the accumulation and discharge process. The formation of the microsphere is enhanced by controlling temperature and current density. The atomic flux was increased with the increasing current density that was happened along the electron flow direction in the small region at the geometrical shape of the sample.

BACKGROUND Sinapic acid(SA)has been shown to have various pharmacological properties such as antioxidant,antifibrotic,anti-inflammatory,and anticancer *** mechanism of action is dependent upon its ability to curb free radical production and protect against oxidative stress-induced tissue *** To study the hepatoprotective effects of SA against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)/Dgalactosamine(D-GalN)-induced acute liver failure(ALF)in *** Experimental ALF was induced with an intraperitoneal(i.p.)administration of 8μg LPS and 800 mg/kg D-GalN in normal *** was administered orally once daily starting 7 d before LPS/D-GalN *** Data showed that SA ameliorates acute liver dysfunction,decreases serum levels of alanine transaminase(ALT),and aspartate aminotransferase(AST),as well as malondialdehyde(MDA)and NO levels in ALF model ***,pretreatment with SA(20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg)reduced nuclear factor kappalight-chain-enhancer of activated B cells(NF-κB)activation and levels of inflammatory cytokines(tumor necrosis factor-αand interleukin 6).Also,SA increased the activity of the nuclear factor erythroid-related factor 2/heme oxygenase-1(Nrf2/HO-1)signaling *** In conclusion,SA offers significant protection against LPS/D-GalN-induced ALF in rats by upregulating Nrf2/HO-1 and downregulating NF-κB.

Study of Environmental Radiation on Sand and Soil Samples from Kuakata Sea Beach of Patuakhali

The activity concentrations of radionuclides in the sand and soil samples collected from Kuakata seabeach of Patuakhali district in Bangladesh have measured using a high resolution high purity germanium (HPGe) detector of relative efficiency 40%. The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K were found in the sand samples of Kuakata seabeach varied from 2.82 ± 4.89 to 87.96 ± 4.45 ***–1, 21.72 ± 16.27 to 290.93 ± 18.15 ***–1 and 26.24 ± 0.35 to 852.05 ± 142.15 ***–1 respectively. For soil samples the activity concentrations of corresponding radionuclides were found to be 20.98 ± 3.96 to 42.92 ± 4.76 ***–1, 59.25 ± 15.62 to 144.34 ± 18.52 ***–1 and 570.43 ± 100.3 to 1165 ± 166.27 ***–1 respectively. The average absorbed dose rate due to radionuclides in sand was estimated to range from 51.84 to 246.55 nGy.h–1 with an average of 98.33 nGy.h–1. Also the average absorbed dose rate due to radionuclides in soil was estimated to range from 76.63 nGy.h–1 to 142.36 nGy.h–1 with an average of 110.04 nGy.h–1. Radium equivalent activities were calculated for the analyzed samples to assess the radiation hazards arising due to the presence of this radionuclide in the samples. Most of the calculated radium equivalent activities are lower than the limit set in the OECD report (370 ***–1). The measured representative level index values for the investigated samples varied in the range 0.8 to 3.75.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a special type of communication medium through distributed sensor nodes. Popular wireless sensor nodes like ZigBee have splendid interoperability after IEEE 802.15.4 standardization in the domain of wireless personal area network (WPAN). ZigBee has another great feature mobility that makes the ZigBee network more versatile. The mobility feature of ZigBee mobile nodes has a greater impact on network performance than fixed nodes. This impact sometimes turns into more severe because of network structure and mobility model. This study mainly focuses on the performance analysis of the ZigBee mobile node under Random and Octagonal mobility management model with the Tree routing method. The Riverbed academic modeler is used to design, implement and simulate the ZigBee network under certain conditions. This study also presents a competitive performance analysis based on ZigBee mobile nodes transmitter and receiver characteristics under the observation of the mobility model. This indicates that Octagonal mobility model exhibits better performance than the Random mobility model. This study will constitute a new way for further designing and planning a reliable and efficient ZigBee network.

Sands along Brahmaputra River of Bangladesh have long been considered to be a source of heavy minerals (HMs) since it traversed a long way through various terrains. An attempt has been made under this research work to determine the kinds and amounts of heavy minerals in the sands sourced from the river system. Samples from 14 locations along Brahmaputra River covering 30 km distance from upstream to downstream of the river are found to contain different heavy minerals concentration with a range of 7.92 - 25.16 weight% with the remaining of the sample comprising silicate and aluminosilicates. Mineral characterization from peak positions in diffractogram of X-ray Diffraction (XRD) evaluate quartz, feldspar and mica are major categories light mineral while rutile, magnetite, illmenite, zircon, monazite, garnet, uranium arsenide and uranium fluoride are the major types heavy minerals. Ilmenite and rutile are main contributors of total heavy mineral (THM). Titanium bearing minerals ilmenite and rutile contributes 26.22% - 31.01% and 14.57% - 23.50% of THM. In the present study area, most of the sands are found to be fine and medium grained as obtained from the particle sizes analysis using 18- to 230-mesh.
