Background: Complications linked to postpartum & pregnancy are one of the major causes of female death. In order to understand the causes of complications and encourage women to take sufficient action in order to receive emergency treatment, a critical step should therefore be taken to minimize complications related to pregnancy, in order to ensure the safety of both women and newborns. Aim of the work: Evaluate the effectiveness of the education programs for pregnant women on obstetric danger signs in rural areas and help minimize the incidence of pregnancy loss and comorbidities. Methods: A quasi-experimental design on 70 women from a population of through 372 women in six-month in antenatal clinics recruited from the previously mentioned settings with pre- and post-test was conducted at antenatal clinics (M.C.H centers) affiliated to the available geographical health zones in EL-fayoum rural area including: Al-sheikh hassan at sanorse. Heterogeneous performance analysis of the new model of CFAR detectors for partially-correlated χ~2-targets

To mitigate the deleterious effects of clutter and jammer, modern radars have adopted adaptive processing techniques such as constant false alarm rate(CFAR) detectors which are widely used to prevent clutter and noise interference from saturating the radar’s display and preventing targets from being *** paper concerns with the detection analysis of the novel version of CFAR schemes(cell-averaging generalized trimmed-mean,CATM) in the presence of additional outlying targets other than the target under research. The spurious targets as well as the tested one are assumed to be fluctuating in accordance with the χ~2-model with two-degrees of freedom. In this situation, the processor performance is enclosed by the swerling models(SWI and SWII). Between these bounds, there is an important class of target fluctuation which is known as moderately fluctuating targets. The detection of this class has many practical applications. Structure of the CATM detector is described briefly. Detection performances for optimal, CAM, CA, trimmed-mean(TM) and ordered-statistic(OS) CFAR strategies have been analyzed and compared for desired probability of false alarm and determined size of the reference window. False alarm rate performance of these processors has been evaluated for different strengths of interfering signal and the effect of correlation among the target returns on the detection and false alarm performances has also been studied. Our numerical results show that, with a proper choice of trimming parameters,the novel model CAM presents an ideal detection performance outweighing that of the Neyman-Pearson detector on condition that the tested target obeys the SWII model in its fluctuation. Although the new models CAS and CAM can be treated as special cases of the CATM algorithm, their multi-target performance is modest even it has an enhancement relative to that of the classical CAcheme. Optimum Design of Passive Shunt Filters for Power Distribution Networks

Static, passive, filters present an economic and simple solution to the harmonic distortion at the distribution level and at the same time supply the required reactive power for voltage support and/or power factor correction. Applying these filters to a distribution network, if not properly designed, may have an adverse effect on the network. This paper presents analysis of the effects of using passive harmonic filters in a power distribution networks. The driving point impedance at the node where the filter installed, as a measure of how harmonic currents would produce harmonic voltages, is determined as function of the filter parameters. Hence, effects of filter parameters on the system impedance, parallel resonant frequency and impedance at resonance are illustrated. The effects of using more than one filter are also examined. A method for the optimal design of a passive filter considering the component limits, harmonic distortion limits and parameter tolerances is also presented. The proposed optimization model has proved its effectiveness through application to measurements at a real distribution feeder.

Umbilical Vein Oxytocin Injection versus Umbilical Cord Drainage in Management of Third Stage of Normal Vaginal Delivery: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objectives: Postpartum hemorrhage is an important cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Different preventive strategies were tried to determine the best approach for the management of the 3rd stage of labour. We aim to determine the effect of umbilical vein oxytocin injection and umbilical cord drainage in the management of third stage of labour in normal vaginal delivery. Patients and Methods: One hundred twenty three (123) females were enrolled into this randomized controlled trial. They were aligned into three groups: 1st group (I) (cord drainage group), 2nd group (II) (oxytocin group) and 3rd group (III) (control cord traction group). The primary outcomes were duration of 3rd stage and blood loss. Results: Both group I and II had statistically significant shorter third stage duration than patients of group III (p < 0.001). Mean ± SD (7.3 ± 3.45, 4.6 ± 1.74, 9.4 ± 3.67) respectively for groups I, II, III. Also, both group I and II had statistically significant less blood loss than patients of group III (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The current study demonstrated that umbilical vein oxytocin injection and umbilical cord drainage significantly reduce the duration and amount of blood loss in the 3rd stage of labour, thus, reducing the risk of post partum hemorrhage.

Incidence of orbital,conjunctival and lacrimal gland malignant tumors in USA from Surveillance,Epidemiology and End Results,1973-2009

AIM： To determine the types and incidence of tumors affecting the orbit, conjunctiva and lacrimal glands and to study the trend line of these tumors in the United States from 1973 to ***： We used the publicly available Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results （SEER） database registries to determine the incidence rates. Age was adjusted to the 2000 US Standard Population. Patients were stratified according to age group, gender, race and histological grouping of tumor lesions. Three age groups were defined： 0-19, 20-49 and ≥50y. Annual percentage changes were calculated to examine ***： The overall age adjusted incidence rate was 3.39 （95%CI： 3.27-3.52） per million person-years. The tumors were more prevalent in age group ≥50 counting 9.51 （95%CI： 9.11-9.92） per million person-years. Most of the soft tissue sarcomas occurred in the young age with incidence rate of 0.35 （95%CI： 0.28-0.42） per million person-years. Lymphomas were the dominant subtype in the adult population with incidence rate of 5.74 （95%CI： 5.43-6.06） per million person-years. Incidence rates were higher in males than females with an overall rate ratio of 1.31 （95%CI： 1.21-1.41） mainly caused by the increase in carcinoma subtypes. White race had a higher tumor incidence with a rate ratio of 1.47（95%CI： 1.25-1.73） driven by the higher incidence of most histological subtypes. Orbital tumors showed a higher incidence rate followed by conjunctival and lacrimal gland tumors with incidence rates of 1.59, 1.37 and 0.43 per million person-years respectively. The trend line of overall incidence of tumors showed a significant increase （APC=3.11, 95%CI： 2.61-3.61） mainly due to increase of lymphomas. PERFORMANCE COMPARISON OF A LINEARLY COMBINED ORDERED-STATISTIC DETECTORS UNDER POSTDETECTION INTEGRATION AND NONHOMOGENEOUS SITUATIONS

Several Constant False Alarm Rate （CFAR） architectures, where radar systems often employ them to automatically adapt the detection threshold to the local background noise or clutter power in an attempt to maintain an approximately constant rate of false alarm, have been recently proposed to estimate the unknown noise power level. Since the Ordered-Statistics （OS） based algorithm has some advantages over the Cell-Averaging （CA） technique, we are concerned here with this type of CFAR detectors. The Linearly Combined Ordered-Statistic （LCOS） processor, which sets threshold by processing a weighted ordered range samples within finite moving window, may actually perform somewhat better than the conventional OS detector. Our objective in this paper is to analyze the LCOS processor along with the conventional OS scheme for the case where the radar receiver incorporates a postdetection integrator amongst its contents and where the operating environments contain a number of secondary interfering targets along with the primary target of concern and the two target types fluctuate in accordance with the Swerling Ⅱ fluctuation model and to compare their performances under various operating conditions.

Potassium and Zinc in Relation to Improve Flax Varieties Yield and Yield Components as Grown under Sandy Soil Conditions

Two field experiments were carried out at the experimental station of National Research Centre, Al-Nubaria District, El-Behira Governorate, Egypt during winter seasons of 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 to study the effect of potassium soil application at the rates (0, 50, 75 and 100 kg/fed.) with or without chelated zinc foliar application 5% at the rate of (0.03 kg/fed.) on the yield and quality of two flax varieties (Sakha-2 and Amon) in newly reclaimed sandy soil. The obtained results could be summarized as follow: Sakha-2 variety significantly surpassed Amon in plant height, technical length, number of branches/plant, seed yield/plant, straw yield/plant, 1000 seed weight, seed yield/fed., straw yield/fed., fiber %, fiber yield/fed. and oil yield/fed. Amon variety surpassed Sakha-2 in fruiting zone length, number of capsules/plant and oil % in both seasons. Potassium soil application at the rate of (100 kg/fed.) with chelated zinc foliar application 5% at the rate of (0.03 kg/fed.) gave the highest value for all studied characters.

Humic and Oxalic Acid Stimulates Grain Yield and Induces Accumulation of Plastidial Carbohydrate Metabolism Enzymes in Wheat Grown under Sandy Soil Conditions

Humic and oxalic acids have the effects of promoting plant growth. We test whether they are able to positively impact wheat yield under newly reclaimed sandy soil, where water deficiency negatively influences yield. Foliar application of humic acid and oxalic acid on two wheat cultivars, Gemiza-9 and Sakha-93, leads to overall better performance of the plants and increases the yield significantly, irrespective of the cultivar genetic background. However, Gemiza-9 surpassed Sak- ha-93 in grain yield parameters. The highest values of grain and protein yields/ha were obtained in both cultivars, when the plants were sprayed with a combination of 17 mg/L humic acid and (300 mg/L) oxalic acid. Humic and oxalic acid showed accumulative yield-promoting effect. To understand the mechanism by which humic and oxalic acids promoted grain yield, we performed SDS-PAGE followed by MS-MS-LC analyses. We identified a unique humic acid-induced 52 KDa band in Gemiza-9. The band contained three major proteins, Ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase large chain, ADP-glucose synthase and NADP-dependent glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPN). Thus humic acid increased the activity of plastid enzymes involved in photosynthesis, sucrose biosynthesis and starched accumulation to improve the overall performance of the plant.

Critical Thinking Disposition among Nurses Working in Puplic Hospitals at Port-Said Governorate

Aim: This study aimed to investigate critical thinking disposition among nurses working in Public Hospitals in Port-Said ***: A descriptive research design was conducted in this study. Totally 196 respondents were chosen by systemic random sampling, to take part in the study as the sample. Data was collected from April to September in 2015. Tools of data collection: A personal and job characteristics data sheet and California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory(CCTDI) were used. Results: The results revealed that the total critical thinking disposition score mean was 257.05 ± 20.16 and the highest score mean was 48.67 ± 6.28 for inquisitiveness subscale, while the lowest score mean was 21.36 ± 7.19 for the truth-seeking subscale. Also, none of the personal&job characteristics showed statistically significant relations with the total critical thinking disposition. Conclusion: More than three quarters of the nurses had an ambivalent disposition toward critical thinking, and most nurses' scores indicated a negative tendency towards truth-seeking. So the findings pointed for upgrading nurses' critical thinking through educational programs and a need for more problem-based learning with advanced teaching strategies in clinical areas.
