magnesium and aluminum alloys continually attract interest as lightweight structural materials for transport applications. However, joining these dissimilar alloys is very challenging. The main obstacle that hinders progress in dissimilar mg-Al joining is the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds(ImCs). As a solid-state joining technique, FSW is an excellent candidate to attenuate the deleterious ImC effects in dissimilar Al-mg joining due to the inherent low heat inputs involved in the process. However, the ImCs, namely Al_(3)mg_(2) and Al_(12)mg_(17) phases, have also been reported to form during Al-mg dissimilar FSW;their amount and thickness depend on the heat input involved;thus,the weld parameters used. Since the heat dissipated in the material during the welding process significantly affects the amount of ImCs,the heat input during FSW should be kept as low as possible to control and reduce the amount of ImCs. This review aims to critically discuss and evaluate the studies conducted in the dissimilar Al/mg FSW through a scientometric analysis and also with a focus on the strategies recently applied to enhance joint quality. The scientometric analysis showed that the main research directions in mg/Al FSW are the technological weldability of aluminum and magnesium during FSW, structural morphology, and mechanical properties of dissimilar welded joints. Considering the scope of application of the aforementioned joints, the low share of articles dealing with environmental degradation and operational cracking is surprising. This might be attributed to the need for well-developed strategies for obtaining high-quality and sustainable joints for applications. Thus, the second part of this review is conventional, focusing mainly on the new strategies for obtaining high-quality mg/Al joints. A novel coordinated control strategy considering power smoothing for a hybrid photovoltaic/battery energy storage system

This work presents a novel coordinated control strategy of a hybrid photovoltaic/battery energy storage(PV/BES) system. Different controller operation modes are simulated considering normal, high fluctuation and emergency conditions. When the system is grid-connected, BES regulates the fluctuated power output which ensures smooth net injected power from the PV/BES system. In islanded operation, BES system is transferred to single master operation during which the frequency and voltage of the islanded microgrid are regulated at the desired level. PSCAD/EmTDC simulation validates the proposed method and obtained favorable results on power set-point tracking strategies with very small deviations of net output power compared to the power set-point. The state-of-charge regulation scheme also very effective with SOC has been regulated between 32% and 79% range.

Tunable phonon-photon coupling induces double magnomechanically induced transparency and enhances slow light in an atom-opto-magnomechanical system

We theoretically investigate the magnomechanically induced transparency phenomenon, Fano resonance and the slow-fast light effect in the situation where an atomic ensemble is placed inside the hybrid cavity of an opto-magnomechanical system. The system is driven by dual optical and phononic drives. We show double magnomechanically induced transparency in the probe output spectrum by exploiting the phonon-photon coupling strength. Then, we study the effects of the decay rate of the cavity and the atomic ensemble on magnomechanically induced transparency. In addition, we demonstrate that effective detuning of the cavity field frequency changes the transparency window from a symmetrical to an asymmetrical profile, resembling Fano resonances. Further, the fast and slow light effects in the system are explored. We show that the slow light profile is enhanced by adjusting the phonon-photon coupling strength. This result may have potential applications in quantum information processing and communication.

Urinary Kidney Injury molocule-1 Level in Preterm Neonates with Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Background: Despite recent advances in perinatal and neonatal care in respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) prevention and treatment, a considerable number of these neonates suffer from acute kidney injury (AKI), and it is associated with poor outcome as an independent risk factor. KIm-1 mRNA and protein are expressed at a low level in normal kidney but are increased in post ischemic kidney. Aim: The aim is to detect the value of urinary KIm-1 measurement as an early predictor marker of acute kidney injury in preterm neonates with respiratory distress syndrome. Patients and methods: The study included 30 preterm newborn with (RDS) ≤36 weeks during the period from October 2014 to march 2015. Also the study included 30 apparently healthy newborn ≤36 weeks as controls. They were selected from NICU of manshiate Elbakry hospital Cairo, Egypt. uKIm-1 along with serum creatinine levels and eGFR were assessed in days 1 of life for both groups and in day 3 for cases. Results: In day one of life, we found a significant increase in uKIm-1 levels in preterm newborn with RDS compared to their controls (2.88 ± 1.01 ng/ml and 0.95 ± 0.52 ng/ml respectively (p = 0.001)). There is no significant difference between both groups regarding serum creatinine and eGFR. In day 3 of life, preterm with RDS had significant decrease in uKIm-1 levels compared to day 1 of life with significant increase in non-survivor compared to survivor group ( 2.30 ± 1.56 ng/ml and 1.30 ± 0.90 ng/ml respectively (p = 0.03)). The sensitivity and specificity of uKIm-1 and serum creatinine was calculated (100.00%, 86.67% and 33.33%;95.00%) respectively. Conclusion: Preterm neonate with RDS is at high risk of developing AKI. Early and serial uKIm-1 measurements can be used as a non-invasive indicator of kidney injury in premature newborn with RDS.

A practical application of photogrammetry to performing rib characterization measurements in an underground coal mine using a DSLR camera

Understanding coal mine rib behavior is important for inferring pillar loading conditions as well as ensuring the safety of miners who are regularly exposed to ribs. Due to the variability in the geometry of underground openings and ground behavior, point measurements often fail to capture the true movement of mine workings. Photogrammetry is a potentially fast, cheap, and precise supplemental measurement tool in comparison to extensometers, tape measures, or laser range meters, but its application in underground coal has been limited. The practical use of photogrammetry was tested at the Safety Research Coal mine, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH). A commercially available, digital single-lens reflex(DSLR) camera was used to perform the photogrammetric surveys for the experiment. Several experiments were performed using different lighting conditions, distances to subject,camera settings, and photograph overlaps, with results summarized as follows: the lighting method was found to be insignificant if the scene was appropriately illuminated. It was found that the distance to the subject has a minimal impact on result accuracy, and that camera settings have a significant impact on the photogrammetric quality of images. An increasing photograph resolution was preferable when measuring plane orientations; otherwise a high point cloud density would likely be excessive. Focal ratio(F-stop) changes affect the depth of field and image quality in situations where multiple angles are necessary to survey cleat orientations. Photograph overlap is very important to proper three-dimensional reconstruction, and at least 60% overlap between photograph pairs is ideal to avoid unnecessary post-processing. The suggestions and guidelines proposed are designed to increase the quality of photogrammetry inputs and outputs as well as minimize processing time, and serve as a starting point for an underground coal photogrammetry study.

m2BPGi for assessing liver fibrosis in patients with hepatitis C treated with direct-acting antivirals

This study explores the feasibility of implementing a hybrid microgrid system powered by renewable energy *** solar photovoltaics,wind energy,and fuel cells to ensure a reliable and sustainable electricity supply for the SEKEm farm in WAHAT,*** study utilizes mATLAB/Simulink software to conduct simulations based on sun irradiation and wind speed *** control techniques,such as the proportional-integral(PI)controller,Fuzzy Logic Controller for PI tuning(fuzzy-PI),and neuro-fuzzy controllers,were evaluated to improve the performance of the *** results demonstrate that the Fuzzy-PI control strategy outperforms the alternative control systems,enhancing the overall dependability and long-term viability of energy *** hybrid system was integrated with a voltage source control(VSC)and fuzzy PI controller,which effectively addressed power fluctuations and improved the stability and reliability of the energy ***,it provides insightful information on how to design and implement a 100%renewable energy system,with the fuzzy PI controller emerging as a viable method of control that can guarantee the system’s resilience and outperform other approaches,such as the standalone PI controller and the neuro-fuzzy controller.

Development of new potentiometric sensors for the determination of proguanil hydrochloride in serum and urine

Potentiometric electrodes were developed for the rapid determination of proguanil hydrochloride in pure samples, pharmaceutical preparations and spiked serum and urine samples using PVC membrane,screen printed（SPE）, coated wired（CWE）, carbon paste（CPE） and modified carbon paste（mCPE）electrodes based on the ion-exchanger of proguanil with phosphotungestic acid（Pr-PT） as a chemical modifier. The prepared electrodes showed Nernestian slopes of 59.7, 58.1, 58.5, 58.5 and 57.0 for the PVC,SPE, CWE, CPE and mCPE for the proguanil ions in a wide concentration range of 1.0 ＊ 10^-5–1.0 ＊ 10^-2mol L^-1 at 25°C with detection limits of 7.94 ＊ 10^-6, 1.0 ＊ 10^-5, 1.0 ＊ 10^-6, 7.07 ＊ 10^-6 and 2.5 ＊ 10^-6 mol L^-1, respectively. The prepared electrodes exhibited high proguanil selectivity in relation to several inorganic ions and sugars and they could be successfully utilized for its determination in pure solutions, pharmaceutical preparations and serum and urine samples using the direct potentiometry and standard addition methods with very good recovery values.

There are several challenges that hospitals are facing according to the emergency department(ED).Themain two issues are department capacity and lead ***,the lack of consensus on performance criteria to evaluateEDincreases the complication of this ***,this study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the emergency department in 20 Egyptian hospitals(12 private and 8 general hospitals)based on 13 performance *** research suggests an integrated evaluation model assess ED under a framework of plithogenic *** proposed framework addressed uncertainty and ambiguity in information with an efficient manner via presenting the evaluation expression by plithogenic *** Envelopment Analysis(DEA)technique is used in order to measure the efficiency of the emergency department of 20 hospitals according to the number of treated patients and effect on patient’s life quality based on 11 *** the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP),the weight of efficiency factors will be measured based on neutrosophic linguistic scale pairwise *** operations provide more accurate aggregation result according to contradiction degree between criteria *** results show that ten of the hospitals are providing efficient service in their emergency department,while the other ten are less *** analysis of the results shows that 58%of private hospitals emergency department is operating efficiently,while the efficient general hospitals represent 38%.
