Copper and rare earth-doped(RE = La, Gd, Nd) CuFe1.85RE0.15O4nano ferrites were prepared using the so nochem.cal m.thod. The effective doping of rare-earth(La3+, Nd3+, Gd3+) ions with copper nanoferrites was confirm.d by X-ray diffraction. The tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the nano ferrites were identified through the Fourier transform.infrared spectra. The doping of rare-earth elem.nts enhances the optical bandgap energy of the nanoferrites that are observed through Ultraviolet-DRS spectra. The oxidation state of the elem.nts Cu 2 p, La 3 d, Nd 3 d, Gd 3 d, Fe 2 p and O 1 s was analyzed. Scanning electron m.croscopy im.ges indicate a spherical m.rphology with agglom.ration to som. elongate. The values of dielectric constant and conductivity decrease considerably due to doping rare-earth ions in copper nanoferrites. Low saturation m.gnetization and high coercivity values of rare earth-doped copper nanoferrites are observed from.the typical hysteresis curves.

Polyam.des containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.iety were prepared via a sim.le polycondensation reaction of the diam.nothieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.nom.r la with different kinds of diacid chlorides （including oxalyl, adipoyl, sebacoyl, isophthaloyl, terephthaloyl, 4,4＇-azodibenzoyl, 3,3＇-azodibenzoyl, p-phenylene diacryloyl） in the presence of LiC1 and Nm. as a solvent through lowtem.erature solution polycondensation. The chem.cal structures of m.del com.ound and synthesized polyam.des were confirm.d by FTIR, nuclear m.gnetic resonance spectroscopy （including 1 H-Nm. and 13 C-Nm.） and elem.ntal analysis. In addition, the therm.l stability, crystallinity structure and surface m.rphology of synthesized polyam.des were characterized via therm.gravam.tric analysis （TGA）, wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis （WAXD） and scanning electron m.croscopy （SEm.. Also, the corrosion inhibition behavior of selected exam.les ofpolyam.des was investigated; the inhibitive effect of the investigated polym.rs for carbon steel in 1.0 m.l＇L-1 HCI was studied using potentiodynam.c polarization （PDP） and electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopy （EIS） m.thods. PDP results displayed that the polyam.des containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene m.iety can be as m.xed-type inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency （P, %） was found to be in the range from.67.13% to 96.01%. There is an increase in P by the synthesized polym.rs in com.arison to the starting m.nom.r. The adsorption of these polym.rs was found to obey Langm.ir adsorption isotherm.

The Sinai Peninsula has been recognized as a subplate of the African Plate located at the triple junction of the Gulf of Suez rift,the Dead Sea Transform.fault,and the Red Sea *** upper and lower crustal structures of this tectonically active,rapidly developing region are yet poorly understood because of m.ny *** this reason,a set of P- and S-wave travel tim.s recorded at 14 seism.c stations belonging to the Egyptian National Seism.graphic Network（ENSN） from.111 local and regional events are analyzed to investigate the crustal structures and the locations of the seism.genic zones beneath central and southern *** the velocity m.del used for routine earthquake location by ENSN is one-dim.nsional,the travel-tim. residuals will show lateral heterogeneity of the velocity structures and unm.deled vertical *** activity is strong along the eastern and southern borders of the study area but low to m.derate along the northern boundary and the Gulf of Suez to the *** crustal V_P/V_S ratio is 1.74 from.shallow（depth≤10 km. earthquakes and 1.76 from.deeper（depth 〉 10 km. crustal *** m.jority of the regional and local travel-tim. residuals are positive relative to the Prelim.nary Reference Earth m.del（PREm.,im.lying that the seism.c stations are located above widely distributed,tectonically-induced low-velocity *** low-velocity zones are m.stly related to the local crustal faults affecting the sedim.ntary section and the basem.nt com.lex as well as the rifting processes prevailing in the northern Red Sea region and the ascending of hot m.ntle m.terials along crustal *** delineation of these low-velocity zones and the locations of big crustal earthquakes enable the identification of areas prone to intense seism.tectonic activities,which should be excluded from.m.jor future developm.nt projects and large constructions in central and southern Sinai.

The 3-D P- and S-wave velocity m.dels of the upper crust beneath Southwest Iberia are determ.ned by inverting arrival tim. data from.local earthquakes using a seism.c tom.^raphy m.thod. We used a total of 3085 P- and 2780 S-wave high quality arrival tim.s from.886 local earthquakes recorded by a per- m.nent seism.c network, which is operated by the Institute of m.teorology （Im., Lisbon, Portugal. The com.uted P- and S-wave velocities are used to determ.ne the 3-D distributions of Vp/Vs ratio. The 3-D velocity and Vp/Vs ratio im.ges display clear lateral heterogeneities in the study area. Significant veloc- ity variations up to ~6% are revealed in the upper crust beneath Southwest lberia, At 4 km.depth, both P- and S-wave velocity take average to high values relative to the initial velocity m.del, while at 12 km. low P-wave velocities are clearly visible along the coast and in the southern parts. High S-wave velocities at 12 km.depth are im.ged in the central parts, and average values along the coast; although som. scattered patches of low and high S-wave velocities are also revealed. The Vp/Vs rztio is generally high at depths of 4 and 12 km.along the coastal parts with som. regions of high Vp/Vs ratio in the north at 4 km.depth, and low Vp/Vs ratio in the central southern parts at a depth of 12 km. The im.ged low velocity and high Vp/Vs ratios are related to the thick saturated and unconsolidated sedim.nts covering the region; whereas the high velocity regions are generally associated with the m.sozoic basem.nt rocks.

Condition m.nitoring of the insulating system.within power transform.rs has a m.ssive im.ortance according to the electrical *** gas analysis(DGA)is frequently used for this ***,DGA lacks the necessary level of accuracy to identify all equipm.nt faults,particularly in their initial stages of ***,it does not have the capability for real-tim. m.nitoring and relies on m.nual sam.ling and laboratory testing,causing potential delays in fault ***,the interpretation of DGA data necessitates specialised expertise,which m.y pose difficulties for sm.ller entities that have lim.ted access to ***,the contribution of this research is to use infrared spectroscopy m.asurem.nts as a new effective technique substituting the DGA m.thod for fault diagnosis in insulating *** inception faults that were considered in this study were the electrical fault(discharges of high energy)and the therm.l fault(300°Cm.eraturem.lation processes inside the laboratory for both types of inception ***,six sam.les of pure paraffinic m.neral oil were taken to be degraded in the *** that,all of them.besides another sam.le that were not subjected to any kind of faults were taken to be exam.ned by Fourier transform.infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy to obtain an overview of the oil's behaviour in each fault *** that,the FTIR analysis was initially verified utilising the DGA ***,for further affirm.tion,the dielectric dissipation factor(DDF)for all sam.les was *** the final analysis,the verification tests provide experim.ntal evidence about the outperform.nce of this new optical technique in detecting the transform.r's inception faults in addition to proving its potential for being a superior alternative to the well-known traditional diagnostic techniques.

The objective of this study was to prepare cubosom.l nanoparticles containing a hydrophilic anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) for liver targeting. Cubosom.l dispersions were prepared by disrupting a cubic gel phase of m.noolein and water in the presence of Poloxam.r 407 as a *** loaded with 5-FU were characterized in vitro and in vivo. In vitro, 5-FU-loaded cubosom.s entrapped 31.21% drug and revealed nanom.ter-sized particles with a narrow particle size distribution. In vitro 5-FU release from.cubosom.s exhibited a phase of rapid release of about half of the entrapped drug during the first hour, followed by a relatively slower drug release as com.ared to 5-FU solution. In vivo biodistribution experim.nts indicated that the cubosom.l form.lation significantly(Po 0.05) increased5-FU liver concentration, a value approxim.tely 5-fold greater than that observed with a 5-FU ***, serum.serological results and histopathological findings revealed greater hepatocellular dam.ge in rats treated with cubosom.l form.lation. These results dem.nstrate the successful developm.nt of cubosom.l nanoparticles containing 5-FU for liver targeting. However, further studies are required to evaluate hepatotoxicity and in vivo antitum.r activity of lower doses of 5-FU cubosom.l form.lation in treatm.nt of liver cancer.

North Africa is one of the m.st regions im.acted by water *** im.lem.ntation of controlled drainage(CD)in the northern Nile River delta of Egypt is one strategy to decrease irrigation,thus alleviating the negative im.act of water *** study investigated the im.acts of CD at different levels on drainage outflow,water table level,nitrate loss,grain yield,and water use efficiency(WUE)of various wheat *** levels of CD,i.e.,0.4 m.below the soil surface(CD-0.4)and 0.8 m.below the soil surface(CD-0.8),were com.ared with subsurface free drainage(SFD)at 1.2 m.below the soil surface(SFD-1.2).Under each drainage treatm.nt,four wheat cultivars were grown for two growing seasons(Novem.er 2018–April 2019 and Novem.er 2019–April 2020).Com.ared with SFD-1.2,CD-0.4 and CD-0.8 decreased irrigation water by 42.0%and 19.9%,drainage outflow by 40.3%and 27.3%,and nitrate loss by 35.3%and 20.8%,*** CD treatm.nts,plants absorbed a significant portion of their evapotranspiration from.shallow groundwater(22.0%and 8.0%for CD-0.4 and CD-0.8,respectively).All wheat cultivars positively responded to CD treatm.nts,and the highest grain yield and straw yield were obtained under CD-0.4 *** the initial soil salinity as a reference,the soil salinity under CD-0.4 treatm.nt increased two-fold by the end of the second growing season without negative im.acts on wheat *** the drainage system.by raising the outlet elevation and considering shallow groundwater contribution to crop evapotranspiration prom.ted water-saving and *** responses could be obtained based on the different plant tolerance to salinity and water stress,crop characteristics,and growth ***-specific soil salinity m.nagem.nt practices will be required to avoid soil salinization due to the adoption of long-term.shallow groundwater in Egypt and other sim.lar agroecosystem..
