Novel yellow colored flame compositions with superior spectral performance

The production of colored flames is the primary purpose of military signaling, projectile tracing, and illuminating devices. Certain elements and compounds when heated to high temperature have the unique property of emitting lines or narrow bands in the visible region(380-780 nm). This study, reports on the development of novel yellow colored flame compositions with enhanced spectral performance in terms of luminous intensity, and color quality to standard Russian yellow tracer. The light intensity and the imprint spectra of developed yellow flares were measured using digital luxmeter and UV e Vis. spectrometer respectively. The main giving of this study is that the light intensity, and color quality of Russian yellow tracer were improved by 287%, and 170% respectively. This was accomplished by means of optimizing the ratio of novel binder to color source using aluminum metal fuel. Aluminumbased formulations were found to maximize the formation of yellow reactive emitting specimens, and to eliminate any interfering incandescent emission resulted from Mg O. Quantification of yellow color emitting specimens in the combustion gaseous products was achieved using chemical equilibrium thermodynamic code named ICT(Institute of Chemical Technology in Germany, Virgin 2008); in an attempt to judge the light quality. This improvement in yellow flare performance established the rule that the emission intensity increases as the reaction temperature increases. In the meantime upper limit of temperature was avoided to maximize the color quality.

Colored flame compositions have distinctive variety of applications ranging from military signaling,rocket tracking, and illuminating devices. Certain elements and compounds when heated to high temperature are able to emit unique wavelengths in the visible region. This study, reports on the development of novel colored flames that cannot be generated by emitting atomic/molecular species. This was achieved by using chromaticity of basic colored flames. Mixing of high quality primary colored flames including Blue, Yellow, and Red in proper ratio was conducted; any interfering incandescent emission resulted from MgO was eliminated using Al metal fuel. The spectral characteristics in terms of luminous intensity, and color quality were evaluated using digital luxmeter and UV-Vis. spectrometer *** quality mixed colored flames include violet, sweet pink, and marigold were developed. This study shaded the light on the state of the art for the real development of novel colored flame compositions and chromaticity of basic colored flames.

Effect of reperfusion strategy on QT dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction:Impact on in-hospital arrhythmia

BACKGROUND Myocardial ischemia and ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)increase QT dispersion(QTD)and corrected QT dispersion(QTcD),and are also associated with ventricular *** To evaluate the effects of reperfusion strategy[primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PPCI)or fibrinolytic therapy]on QTD and QTcD in STEMI patients and assess the impact of the chosen strategy on the occurrence of in-hospital *** This prospective,observational,multicenter study included 240 patients admitted with STEMI who were treated with either PPCI(group I)or fibrinolytic therapy(group II).QTD and QTcD were measured on admission and 24 hr after reperfusion,and patients were observed to detect in-hospital *** There were significant reductions in QTD and QTcD from admission to 24 hr in both group I and group II *** and QTcD were found to be shorter in group I patients at 24 hr than those in group II(53±19 msec vs 60±18 msec,P=0.005 and 60±21 msec vs 69+22 msec,P=0.003,respectively).The occurrence of in-hospital arrhythmia was significantly more frequent in group II than in group I(25 patients,20.8%vs 8 patients,6.7%,P=0.001).Furthermore,QTD and QTcD were higher in patients with in-hospital arrhythmia than those without(P=0.001 and P=0.02,respectively).CONCLUSION In STEMI patients,PPCI and fibrinolytic therapy effectively reduced QTD and QTcD,with a higher observed reduction using *** was associated with a lower incidence of in-hospital arrhythmia than fibrinolytic *** addition,QTD and QTcD were shorter in patients not experiencing in-hospital arrhythmia than those with arrhythmia.

A Study of Heavy Metals in the Dust Fall around Assiut Fertilizer Plant

A study of an environmental assessment of dust fall and the associated heavy metal contents was conducted during the period from the first of March 2011 to the end of February 2012 at adjoining area of a phosphate fertilizer plant. Around the industrial area 8 dust fall stations were established and one of them was built upwind far from pollution activities to be taken as a control sample. Dust fall samples collected monthly weighed and then prepared to be analyzed through Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS) to obtain heavy metal concentration. Meteorological parameters influencing the distribution of dust fall such as wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, rain fall and pressure were determined. Results showed that deposition flow rates were 38.2. 47.5, 57.7, 44.3, 39.4, 38.2, 42.7 and 5.9 g/m2·month for the sites No., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively, and were compared with the findings of other investigators of like industrial areas worldwide. Levels of heavy metal As, Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, and Hg in the deposited dust fall were 3.30, 26.46, 22.33, 235.00, 4.53 and 3.80 μg/g respectively. Enrichment coefficients of the heavy metals in the dust fall were found to be significant and reached the values 1.81, 0.90, 0.85, 0.65, 0.41 and 0.35 for zinc, lead, cadmium, copper, mercury and arsenic respectively. The paper ends with results and recommendations suggesting a methodology to remediate the investigated area polluted with heavy metals and control measures for the fertilizer plant to reduce pollution into the surrounding environment.

This paper aims to turn complex groundwater data into comprehensible information by indexing the different factors numerically comparative to the standards of World Health Organization (WHO) to produce Water Quality Index (WQI). Water Quality Index (WQI) has been used to assess groundwater quality and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has been used to create maps representing the spatial distribution of groundwater categories in Assiut governorate, Egypt. Water Quality Index has been computed by Un-weighted Arithmetic Water Quality Index (WQIUA) method and applied on 796 wells over eight years from 2006 to 2013. The results showed that WQIUA values for drinking purposes were high and most of them reached higher or close to 100, which indicated that the groundwater was polluted and unsafe for drinking. On the other hand, the quality index of groundwater for irrigation purposes in most of the study area ranges between 55.78 and 78.38 (poor and very poor category);this means that groundwater is moderately polluted and rather suitable for irrigation.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) represents about 90% of all entrapment neuropathies and is caused by entrapment of the median nerve while passing in the carpal tunnel. US has revealed equal effectiveness as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in diagnosis of CTS;however further attention should be given in case of equivocal results from nerve conduction studies (NCS) and/or before endoscopic surgical intervention. This study was conducted to evaluate the role of US in diagnosis and treatment of CTS which was done by endoscopic release. This is a prospective study including patients having CTS who were treated by endoscopic release between December 2017 and December 2018. All cases were evaluated by electrophysiological studies and US at the preoperative period. US was used to measure the cross sectional area (CSA) of the median nerve. Patients underwent endoscopic carpal tunnel release and were called for follow up after 1, 3, and 6 months for clinical and US assessment of the median nerve. Forty cases were included with mean age of 27.85 years. Numbness was the predominant symptom (92.5%) followed by wrist pain (85%). The mean diameter of median nerve showed a significant decrease at different time points (P < 0.001). The sensitivity of US in diagnosis of CTS was 87.5% in the preoperative assessment as compared to electrophysiological study. The sensitivity of US in detecting the improvement of CTS as compared to clinical examination increased from 28% at 1 month postoperative, 53.4% at 3 months to 92.1% at 6 months. Ultrasonography is a sensitive non-invasive diagnostic tool in diagnosis of CTS preoperative and diagnosis of improvement of the patients postoperatively especially at 6 months.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce second order (K, F)-pseudoconvex and second order strongly (K, F)- pseudoconvex functions which are a generalization of cone-pseudoconvex and strongly cone-pseudoconvex functions. A pair of second order symmetric dual multiobjective nonlinear programs is formulated by using the considered functions. Furthermore, the weak, strong and converse duality theorems for this pair are established. Finally, a self duality theorem is given.

This paper presents a modified method to solve multi-objective nonlinear programming problems with fuzzy parameters in its objective functions and these fuzzy parameters are characterized by fuzzy numbers. The modified method is based on normalized trade-off weights. The obtained stability set corresponding to α-Pareto optimal solution, using our method, is investigated. Moreover, an algorithm for obtaining any subset of the parametric space which has the same corresponding α-Pareto optimal solution is presented. Finally, a numerical example to illustrate our method is also given.

Background:Warfarin is widely regarded as the main anticoagulant in lowering the risk of *** study used indicators to compare pharmacist-managed anticoagulation services,using a well-prepared protocol,with physician-managed anticoagulation services・Methods:A retrospective prospective pilot study was conducted to compare patient outcomes before and after transitioning patients to phannacist-managed anticoagulation services,comparing the proportion of those with therapeutic international normalized ratio(INK),subtherapeutic INK,and supratherapeutic INR,as well as their bleeding occurrences as indicators of assuring quality ***:A significant improvement in anticoagulation management was noted in the transition to pharmacist-managed anticoagulation *** proportion of those with subtherapeutic INR decreased from 61.8%to 11.8%(p<0.001),those with supratherapeutic INR decreased from 20.6%to 2.9%(p<0.001),those with therapeutic INR increased from 17.6%to 85.3%(p<0.001),and the occurrence of bleeding decreased from 11.8%to 0.0%,without significant difference in warfarin doses(median from 4 before the transition to 5 after);in addition,the time to reach therapeutic INR decreased from 12-24 weeks to 2-8 weeks after transitioning to pharmacist-managed anticoagulation ***:Pharmacist-managed anticoagulation services are considered safer and more effective than physician-managed anticoagulation services alone in terms of patientsJ adherence and satisfaction,which provide an excellent opportunity for quality assurance care.
