The parameters of power system slowly change with time due to environmental effects or may change rapidly due to faults. It is preferable that the control technique in this system possesses robustness for various fault conditions and disturbances. The used flexible alternating current transmission system （FACTS） in this paper is an advanced super-conducting magnetic energy storage （ASMES）. Many control techniques that use ASMES to improve power system stability have been proposed. While fuzzy controller has proven its value in some applications, the researches applying fuzzy controller with ASMES have been actively reported. However, it is sometimes very difficult to specify the rule base for some plants, when the parameters change. To solve this problem, a fuzzy model reference learning controller （FMRLC） is proposed in this paper, which investigates multi-input multi-output FMRLC for time-variant nonlinear system. This control method provides the motivation for adaptive fuzzy control, where the focus is on the automatic online synthesis and tuning of fuzzy controller parameters （i.e., using online data to continually learn the fuzzy controller that will ensure that the performance objectives are met）. Simulation results show that the proposed robust controller is able to work with nonlinear and nonstationary power system （i.e., single machine-infinite bus （SMIB） system）, under various fault conditions and disturbances.

The majority of existing information systems deals with crisp data through crisp database systems. Traditional Database Management Systems （DBMS） have not taken into account imprecision so one can say there is some sort of lack of flexibility. The reason is that queries retrieve only elements which precisely match to the given Boolean query. That is, an element belongs to the result if the query is true for this element; otherwise, no answers are returned to the user. The aim of this paper is to present a cooperative approach to handling empty answers of fuzzy conjunctive queries by referring to the Formal Concept Analysis （FCA） theory and fuzzy logic. We present an architecture which combines FCA and databases. The processing of fuzzy queries allows detecting the minimal reasons of empty answers. We also use concept lattice in order to provide the user with the nearest answers in the case of a query failure.

Improving Association Rules Accuracy in Noisy Domains Using Instance Reduction Techniques

Association rules’learning is a machine learning method used in finding underlying associations in large *** intentionally or unintentionally present,noise in training instances causes overfitting while building the classifier and negatively impacts classification *** paper uses instance reduction techniques for the datasets before mining the association rules and building the *** reduction techniques were originally developed to reduce memory requirements in instance-based *** paper utilizes them to remove noise from the dataset before training the association rules *** experiments were conducted to assess the accuracy of association rules with different instance reduction techniques,namely:DecrementalReduction Optimization Procedure(DROP)3,DROP5,ALL K-Nearest Neighbors(ALLKNN),Edited Nearest Neighbor(ENN),and Repeated Edited Nearest Neighbor(RENN)in different noise *** show that instance reduction techniques substantially improved the average classification accuracy on three different noise levels:0%,5%,and 10%.The RENN algorithm achieved the highest levels of accuracy with a significant improvement on seven out of eight used datasets from the University of California Irvine(UCI)machine learning *** improvements were more apparent in the 5%and the 10%noise *** RENN was applied,the average classification accuracy for the eight datasets in the zero-noise test enhanced from 70.47%to 76.65%compared to the original *** average accuracy was improved from 66.08%to 77.47%for the 5%-noise case and from 59.89%to 77.59%in the 10%-noise *** confidence was also reported in building the association rules when RENN was *** above results indicate that RENN is a good solution in removing noise and avoiding overfitting during the construction of the association rules classifier,especially in noisy domains.

Residential sector is one of the energy-consuming districts of countries that causes CO_(2)emission in large *** this regard,this sector must be considered in energy policy making related to the reduction of emission of CO_(2)and other greenhouse *** the present work,CO_(2)emission related to the residential sector of three countries,including Indonesia,Thailand,and Vietnam in Southeast Asia,are discussed and modeled by employing Group Method of Data Handling(GMDH)and Multilayer Perceptron(MLP)neural networks as powerful intelligent *** to modeling,data related to the energy consumption of these countries are represented,discussed,and ***,to propose a model,electricity,natural gas,coal,and oil products consumptions are applied as inputs,and CO_(2)emission is considered as the model’s *** obtained R^(2) values for the generated models based on MLP and GMDH are 0.9987 and 0.9985,***,values of the Average Absolute Relative Deviation(AARD)of the regressions using the mentioned techniques are around 4.56%and 5.53%,*** values reveal significant exactness of the models proposed in this article;however,making use of MLP with the optimal architecture would lead to higher accuracy.

Poor stability and dispersibility,as well as aggregation are considered as major challenges in clinical application of iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs).Several studies have shown that the synthesis parameters and post-synthesis treatments e.g.,drying methods,have the capability to improve the particles'***,we investigate the combined effect of synthesis and post-treatment parameters on the particle size,stability and magnetism of ***(Fe_(3)O_(4))NPs were prepared via co-precipitation and post-treated using different methods,i.e.(i)freeze dried at-53℃,0.133 mbar for 48 h(liquid nitrogen frozen(LFD)and freezer frozen(FFD)),(ii)vacuum oven dried(VOD)at 60℃for 24 h,and(iii)kept wet colloidal(WET),dispersed in deionized *** Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs’chemical functional groups,size,shape,crystallinity,stability,aggregation,porosity,and magnetic properties were further analysed using different characterisation *** results showed that,while the WET sample had the best stability and significantly less aggregation at different temperatures,amongst post-treated Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs,LFD sample exhibited the best stability(up to 37℃),dispersion and smallest polydispersity ***,all dried NPs had superparamagnetic characteristics,while,LFD Fe_(3)O_(4)NPs had better magnetic properties and stability than other drying methods.

Cursive text recognition of Arabic script-based languages like Urdu is extremely complicated due to its diverse and complex *** approaches like genetic algorithms have been used in the past for various optimization as well as pattern recognition tasks,reporting exceptional *** proposed Urdu ligature recognition system uses a genetic algorithm for optimization and *** the proposed recognition system observes the processes of pre-processing,segmentation,feature extraction,hierarchical clustering,classification rules and genetic algorithm optimization and *** pre-processing stage removes noise from the sentence images,whereas,in segmentation,the sentences are segmented into ligature *** features are extracted from each of the segmented ligature ***-feature hierarchical clustering is observed that results in clustered ***,classification rules are used for the representation of the clustered *** genetic algorithm performs an optimization mechanism using multi-level sorting of the clustered data for improving the classification rules used for recognition of Urdu *** conducted on the benchmark UPTI dataset for the proposed Urdu ligature recognition system yields promising results,achieving a recognition rate of 96.72%.

Agricultural soils in semi-arid regions have frequently been degraded due to adverse climatic conditions,organic matter depletion,and poor farming *** enhance soil quality,this study examines the reuse of sewage sludge(SS)as an available source of organic matter in a typical Mediterranean sandy-loam ***,we studied the cumulative effect of two annual applications of 40,80 and 120 tons of sludge per ha on soil quality in absence of *** dose-dependent improvement of organic matter content was the most significant event that reflected sludge application rates,and consequently influenced other soil ***,soil structural stability increased by 13.3%,28.8%and 59.4%for treatments SS-40,SS-80 and SS-120 respectively as compared to unamended *** stability improvement was also confirmed by the dose-dependent variation of other edaphic factors including calcium content,the microbial quotient as well as Welt and C:N *** param-eters are involved in cementing soil aggregates by cation bridging,the formation of microbial mucilage,and clay-humic *** magnetic susceptibility(SMS)was measured in situ as a possible rapid tool to evaluate soil *** showed significant correlation with sludge dose and stability amelioration testifying to the aggregation role that can play Al2O3 and particularly Fe2O3 minerals added by the hematite-rich ***,analytical results and field observations revealed no trends of soil salinization or acidification by excessive sludge *** avoiding the rhizosphere effect,outcomes could reflect the resilience and intrinsic capacity of the soil to cope with excessive sludge loads.

Many geophysical and geological data have been used to interpret the tectonic evolution of the south-eastern part of the Tunisian margin and to analyze the dominant structures in the *** Menzel habib Plain(MHP)and surroundings,targeted by this study,exhibits thick siliciclastic and carbonate formations attributed to the Early Cretaceous *** of seismic and gravimetric data coupled with analysis of the syndepositional faults affecting these formations prove that the Tunisian margin is dominated,during this period,by N-S to NE-SW extensional *** geodynamic evolution of the MHP is mainly due to the irregular normal movement of the N-S faults,which represents the southernmost branch of the N-S Axis(NSA)and of the NW-SE faults,which constitutes the SE segment of the South Atlasic fault corridor(SAFC).In addition,the NE-SW and E-W oriented faults contributed to this *** extensive periods,this network of faults determines horst and grabens basin geometry or tilted blocks inducing formation of several distinct areas with different subsidence ***,the normal activity of the major faults promotes the vertical mobilization of the Triassic salt resulting in the individualization of several diapiric bodies,some of which pierced their sedimentary *** dynamics reflect echoes of the sinistral drifting of Africa with respect to Europe,integrated in a long Tethyan rifting cycle,and the beginning of opening of the Mesogean Sea,respectively.
