Alkaline metals and hydrogen titanates are of great interest for possible applications. The qualities of soda ash and Rosetta ilmenite ore concentrate pellets were investigated. The kinetic formation of sodium titanate via roasting of soda ash and ilmenite pellets and powder was studied in the temperature range of 800。C to 900。C.

The smart irrigation system(SIS)developed in this research is a valuable tool for scheduling irrigation and quantifying water required by *** was implemented and tested under sprinkler irrigation system to irrigate wheat crops(YecoraRojo).Results obtained from this system were compared with the control irrigation system(CIS),whose scheduling method was based on data from an automatic weather *** indicated significant savings in applied water using the *** addition,the use of the SIS conserved 12%of irrigation water compared to CIS and obtained an economical *** water use efficiency(WUE)under SIS had generally higher values(1.64 kg/m^(3))compared to CIS(1.46 kg/m^(3)).Hence,the application of SIS technology provides significant advantages on WUE and irrigation water use efficiency(IWUE).Relatively high WUE and IWUE were found for the irrigation treatment(80%of evapotranspiration under SIS).Results showed that the irrigation requirements of wheat increased(100%of ETc under CIS)with increasing evapotranspiration(ETc)but excessive irrigation could decrease WUE and *** results indicated that extreme irrigation might not produce higher yield or optimal economic benefit,thus,suitable irrigation schedules by using SIS must be established and extendable to other agricultural crops.

In the last decade, the seismic AVO analysis have become prominent in the direct hydrocarbons indicator(DHI), aimed at characterizing the fluid content or the lithology of a possible reservoir and reducing theexploration drilling risk. This research discuss the impact of studying the common depth point (CDP)gathers on Near, Mid and Far-offsets, to verify the credibility of the amplitude response in the prospectevaluation, through analyzing a case study of two exploratory wells;one has already penetrated a gasbearing sandstone as a reservoir and the other one is dry-sand, but drilled in two different prospects,using the amplitude versus offset (AVO) analysis, to understand the reservoir configuration and itsrelation to the different amplitude response. The results show, that the missing of the short-offset data isthe reason of the false anomaly encountered in the dry sand, due to some urban surface obstacles duringacquiring the seismic data in the field especially, the study area is located in el Mansoura city, which it isa highly cultivated flat terrain, with multiple channels and many large orchards on the edge of the river,and sugar cane and rice fields. Several lessons have been learned, which how to differentiate between thegas reservoirs and non-reservoirs, by understanding the relation between the Near and Far-offset traces,to reduce the amplitude anomalies to their right justification, where missing of Near-offset data led to apseudo-amplitude anomaly. The results led to a high success of exploration ratio as the positives vastlyoutweigh the negatives.

Microbial fuel cells(M FCs)represent a new approach for treating w aste w ater along w ith electricity *** present study addressed electricity production from domestic w astew ater using a mediator-less double chamber M *** electricity production w as monitored under different operational conditions for both summer and w inter *** of the anodic and cathodic chambers resulted in a maximal current of 0.784 and 0.645 m A w ith the maximal pow er intensity of 209 and 117 m W/m2in pow er duration of 24 h for the summer and w inter samples,*** electron microscopy show ed that the bacterial biofilm formation on the anode w as denser for the summer sample than that w hen the w inter sample w as used,so w as the total bacterial ***,samples taken during summer w ere considered better in electricity production and w aste w ater treatment than those taken during w inter basically because of the high microbial load during the hot *** parallel,there w as a decrease in both biological oxygen demand(BOD5)and chemical oxygen demand(COD)values which reached 71.8%and 72.85%,respectively at the end of the operation process for the summer sample,w hile there w as no evident decrease for the w inter *** the operating conditions not only increased the potential of using domestic w aste w ater in microbial fuel cells to produce electricity,but also improved the quality of the domestic w aste w ater.

As the Internet of Things(IoT)and mobile devices have rapidly proliferated,their computationally intensive applications have developed into complex,concurrent IoT-based workflows involving multiple interdependent *** exploiting its low latency and high bandwidth,mobile edge computing(MEC)has emerged to achieve the high-performance computation offloading of these applications to satisfy the quality-of-service requirements of workflows and *** this study,we propose an offloading strategy for IoT-based workflows in a high-performance MEC *** proposed task-based offloading strategy consists of an optimization problem that includes task dependency,communication costs,workflow constraints,device energy consumption,and the heterogeneous characteristics of the edge *** addition,the optimal placement of workflow tasks is optimized using a discrete teaching learning-based optimization(DTLBO)*** experimental evaluations demonstrate that the proposed offloading strategy is effective at minimizing the energy consumption of mobile devices and reducing the execution times of workflows compared to offloading strategies using different metaheuristics,including particle swarm optimization and ant colony optimization.

With a low resolution 1-bit ADC on its receiver(RX) side, MIMO with 1-bit ADC took a considerable step in the fulfillment of the hardware complexity constrains of the internet of things(IoT) PHY layer design. However, applying 1-bit ADC at MIMO RX results in severe nonlinear quantization error. By which, almost all received signal amplitude information is completely distorted. Thus, MIMO channel estimation is considered as a major barrier towards practical realization of 1-bit ADC MIMO system. In this paper, two efficient sparsity-based channel estimation techniques are proposed for 1-bit ADC MIMO systems, namely the low complexity sparsity-based channel estimation(LCSCE), and the iterative adaptive sparsity channel estimation(IASCE). In these techniques, the sparsity of the 1-bit ADC MIMO channel is exploited to propose a new adaptive and iterative compressive sensing(CS) recovery algorithm to handle the 1-bit ADC quantization effect. The proposed algorithms are tested with the state-of-the-art 1-bit ADC MIMO constant envelope modulation(MIMO-CEM). The 1-bit ADC MIMO-CEM system is chosen as it fulfills both energy and hardware complexity constraints of the IoT PHY layer. Simulation results reveal the high effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in terms of spectral efficiency(SE) and computational complexity. The proposed LCSCE reduces the computational complexity of the 1-bit ADC MIMO-CEM channel estimation by 86%, while the IASCE reduces it by 96% compared to the recent techniques of MIMO-CEM channel estimation. Moreover, the proposed LCSCE and IASCE improve the spectrum efficiency by 76 % and 73 %, respectively, compared to the recent techniques.

Objective:To investigate the modulatory effects of bitter gourd extract on the insulin signaling pathway in the liver and skeletal muscle tissues of diabetic ***:The ethanolic extract of bitter gourd was prepared and its contents of total polyphenols and flavonoids were assayed.A neonatal streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat model was established and the diabetic rats were assigned into different groups and were treated with different doses of bitter gourd extract(100,200,400,or 600 mg/kg)or with glibenclamide(0.1 mg/kg)for 30 *** blood glucose,insulin,and lipid profile were evaluated and the insulin signaling pathway in the liver and skeletal muscle of rats was *** correlations between homeostasis model assessment(HOMA)and the components of insulin signaling pathway were also ***:Different doses of bitter gourd extract significantly ameliorated fasting blood glucose level and HOMA index for insulin ***,bitter gourd extract increased serum insulin and improved disrupted serum lipid *** levels of insulin receptor substrate-1(IRS-1),p-insulin receptorβ(p-IR-β),protein kinase C(PKC),GLUT2,and GLUT4 were improved by treatment with bitter gourd *** best results were obtained with 400 mg/kg dose of the extract,the effect of which was equivalent to that of *** in the bitter gourd treated rats was negatively correlated with p-IR-β,IRS-1 and PKC in hepatic and skeletal *** was also negatively correlated with skeletal muscle ***:Bitter gourd extract improves glucose homeostasis and lipid profile in diabetic rats via enhancement of insulin secretion and ***,bitter gourd can be used as a potential pharmacological agent for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

AIM To evaluate the accuracy of the elastography score combined to the strain ratio in the diagnosis of solid pancreatic lesions(SPL). METHODS A total of 172 patients with SPL identified by endoscopic ultrasound were enrolled in the study to evaluate the efficacy of elastography and strain ratio in differentiating malignant from benign lesions. The semi quantitative score of elastography was represented by the strain ratio method. Two areas were selected, area(A) representing the region of interest and area(B) representing the normal area. Area(B) was then divided by area(A). Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value(PPV), negative predictive value(NPV), and accuracy were calculated by comparing diagnoses made by elastography, strain ratio and final *** SPL were shown to be benign in 49 patients and malignant in 123 patients. elastography alone had a sensitivity of 99%, a specificity of 63%, and an accuracy of 88%, a PPV of 87% and an NPV of 96%. The best cut-off level of strain ratio to obtain the maximal area under the curve was 7.8 with a sensitivity of 92%, specificity of 77%, PPV of 91%, NPV of 80% and an accuracy of 88%. Another estimated cut off strain ratio level of 3.8 had a higher sensitivity of 99% and NPV of 96%, but with less specificity, PPV and accuracy 53%, 84% and 86%, respectively. Adding both elastography to strain ratio resulted in a sensitivity of 98%, specificity of 77%, PPV of 91%, NPV of 95% and accuracy of 92% for the diagnosis of SPL. CONCLUSION Combining elastography to strain ratio increases the accuracy of the differentiation of benign from malignant SPL.

Spectrofluorimetric method for determination of some angiotensin II receptor antagonists

A simple, rapid, accurate and highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric method has been developed for determination of some angiotensin II receptor antagonists (AIIRA’s), namely Losartan potassium (Los-K), Irbesartan (Irb), Valsartan (Val) and Candesartan cilexetil (Cand) in pure forms as well as in their pharmaceutical dosage forms. All the variables affecting the relative fluorescence intensity (RFI) were studied and optimized. Under the optimum conditions, linear relationships with good correlation coefflcients (0.9982–0.9991) were obtained over the concentration range from 0.006 mg/mL to 1.7 mg/mL. Good accuracy and precision were successfully obtained for the analysis of tablets containing each drug alone or combined with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) without interferences from the co-formulated HCTZ or the additives commonly present in tablets.

Objective:To evaluate Brachychiton acerifolius leaf extracts as antidiabetic potential agent and to identify the main active constituents using bioactivity guided ***:In vitro antioxidant activity was evaluated for *** different extracts using DPPH assay and vitamin C as *** activity was then determined using STZ-induced rats treated daily with ethyl acetate and 70% ethanol leaf extracts for4 weeks at a dose of 200 g/kg body weight against gliclazide reference *** glucose,a-amylase,lipid profile,liver function enzymes and oxidative stress markers were assessed along with histopathological study for liver and pancreatic *** and structural elucidation of active compounds were made using Diaion and Sephadex followed by spectral ***:The results indicated that ethyl acetate and ethanol leaf extracts exhibited the strongest antioxidant activity compared to that of vitamin C(IC500.05,0.03 and 12 mg/m L,respectively).Both extracts showed potent anti-hyperglycemic activity evidenced by a significant decrease in serum glucose levels by 82.5% and 80.9% and a-amylase by45.2% and 53.6%,as compared with gliclazide 68% and 59.4%,*** of ethanol extract resulted in the isolation of 9 flavonoids including apigenin-7-O-arhamnosyl(1/2)-b-D-glucuronide,apigenin-7-O-b-D-glucuronide,apigenin-7-O-b-Dglucoside and ***:This study highlights the potential use of *** leaf extract enriched in flavones for the treatment of diabetes that would warrant further clinical trials investigation.
