The samples of Zn0.5CuxMg0.5-xFe2O4 nanoparticle ferrites, with x= 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 were successfully synthesised. Structural and optical properties were investigated by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectros-copy (FTIR) and UV-visible spectroscopy. The structural studies showed that all the samples prepared through the Co-precipitation method was a single phase of a face-cantered-Cubic (FCC) spinel symmetry structures with space group (SG): Fd-3m. In the series Zn0.5CuxMg0.5-xFe2O4, the lattice parameter was found to be 8.382 ? for x = 0 and was found to increase with copper con-centration. The grain size obtained from the XRD data analyses was found to be in the range of 15.97 to 28.33 nm. The increased in the grain size may be due to the large ionic radius of Mg2+ (0.86 ?) compared with Cu2+ (0.73 ?). The FTIR spectroscopy confirmed the formation of spinel ferrite and showed the characteristics absorption bands around 580, 1112, 1382, 1682, 1632 and 2920 cm-1. The energy band gap was calculated for samples were found to be in the range 4.04 to 4.67 eV.

AIM: To analyze and calculate the relative cost of various childhood glaucoma surgical interventions per mm Hg intraocular pressure(IOP) reduction($/mm Hg).METHODS: Representative index studies were reviewed to quantitate the reduction of mean IOP and glaucoma medications for each surgical intervention in childhood glaucoma. A US perspective was adopted, using Medicare allowable costs to calculate cost/mm Hg IOP reduction($/mm Hg) at 1y ***: At 1y postoperatively, the cost/mm Hg IOP reduction was $226/mm Hg for microcatheter-assisted circumferential trabeculotomy, $284/mm Hg for cyclophotocoagulation, $288/mm Hg for conventional ab-externo trabeculotomy, $338/mm Hg for ahmed glaucoma valve, $350/mm Hg for Baerveldt glaucoma implant, $351/mm Hg for goniotomy, and $400/mm Hg for ***: Microcatheter-assisted circumferential trabeculotomy is the most cost-efficient surgical method to lower IOP in childhood glaucoma, while trabeculectomy is the least cost-efficient surgical method.

碱激发矿渣(AAS)是一种具有胶凝性质的材料,可以拥有同传统波特兰水泥(OPC)相当的强度,是一种很有应用前景的材料。相比OPC,AAS的水化热更低,强度发展更快,耐久性也更高。但AAS的应用被其较高的收缩及较容易碳化等缺点所限制。这些缺点同AAS的收缩微裂纹及微结构有着较紧密的关系。因此,本研究关注于宏观,微观及纳米尺度的植物纤维对AAS收缩及微裂纹产生的缓解。首先,本文研究了宏观尺度植物纤维(NCFs)对最优配比AAS的力学性能、自收缩、干缩及微结构的影响。实验中测试了AAS的收缩,内部相对湿度(IRH),强度和水化放热量,同时还研究了NCFs对AAS微结构的影响。结果表明,这种NCFs有效减少了AAS的自收缩和干燥收缩,减少比例分别达35-66.9%和33.9-51.5%。除此之外,这种NCFs还能增强AAS的抗折和抗压强度,分别达4.6-8.0%和4.7-9.0%。实验结果表明内部湿度的变化同AAS的形变有很强的相关性,是造成AAS高收缩的主要因素。其次,本文研究了低掺量微纳尺度植物纤维(CFs)对AAS收缩微裂纹缓解的影响,这种纤维在其中起到了填充孔隙及控制裂纹的作用。实验测试了AAS的强度、收缩、孔隙率及孔径分布。本文对CFs对AAS收缩微裂纹及内部孔结构的影响进行了定性和定量的分析。结果表明,CFs的掺入可以增强AAS的强度达4.8-21.4%,减少AAS的收缩达12.5-21%。MIP和BET结果表明CFs的掺入会改变AAS的孔径分布及内部孔结构,可减少12-42%的孔隙率并减少1-100nm范围的介孔含量。利用SEM对AAS的表面形貌的观察表明,在1-50μm的尺度上,CFs增强的AAS的基体更加致密和均匀。声发射技术可以将早期AAS内的微裂纹发展同其形变及内部孔结构联系起来。尽管受到X-CT分辨率的限制,AAS孔结构在早期的演变还是很有趣的,实验证实了CFs实际上是起到了填充孔隙的作用。因此,通过研究孔径分布对AAS收缩的影响来分析AAS收缩的减小还是很有意义的,可以为AAS的收缩微裂纹的产生现象提供解释。由X-CT得到的三维重构模型表明,相比CFs增强的AAS,AAS对照组有更多的孔在微孔-介孔范围内。此外,决定收缩减少的重要因素是孔隙体积比的变化,而不是孔的数量。最后,同时掺入宏观、微观、纳米尺度的植物纤维可以改善AAS的内部相对湿度及孔结构,最终可缓解AAS的高收缩和微裂纹现象。因此,通过内部养护、填充孔隙及控制微裂纹的方法来增强AAS的宏观、微观及纳米尺度的短期及长期性能具有一定的可行性。

The Zn0.5CuxMg0.5-xFe2O4 (where x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4) was prepared by sol-gel route and characterized in detail in terms of their structural, morphological, elemental and optical properties as a function of Cu concentration. X-ray diffractometer (XRD) results confirmed the formation of cubic spinel-type structure with average crystallized size in the range of 30.56 to 40.58 nm. Lattice parameter was found to decrease with Cu concentration due to the smaller ionic radius of Cu2+ ion. The HR-SEM images show morphology of the samples as prismatic shaped particles in agglomeration. The elemental dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) confirmed the elemental composition of the as-prepared spinel ferrite material with respect to the initial concentration of the synthetic composition used for the material. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy confirmed the formation of spinel ferrite and showed the characteristics absorption bands around 463, 618, 876, 1116, 1442, 1622 and 2911 cm-1. The energy band gap was calculated for the samples were found to be in the range of 4.87 to 5.30 eV.

COVID-19 is a respiratory infection that has lately begun to affect other vital organs,including the heart,kidney,and *** purpose of this study was to investigate the hepatic complications in COVID-19 patients and the risk of being admitted to ICU or facing ***:Comorbidities(hypertension and diabetes),COVID-19 symptoms,laboratory findings(ALT level,AST level,and albumin),complications during hospitalization,treatment protocol used,and survival outcomes were all studied in 200 COVID-19 infected Egyptian patients who had virological symptoms and were followed up until they recovered or *** was found that older people and those with higher blood glucose levels have a higher risk of developing liver-associated COVID-19 ***,the majority of patients who developed liver complications in the course of the infection had high mortality *** with diabetes,hypertension,or hepatic disease are at higher risk of ICU admission or ***,it is important to pay attention to these problems in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 to develop a suitable individualized treatment *** was also a correlation between the mortality in COVID-19 patients and both,high blood glucose and liver enzyme *** can be attributed to the correlation between diabetes and liver disease as every disease may be a complication to the other;moreover,COVID-19 may lead to increased blood sugar levels in addition to ALT and AST *** theory is that COVID-19 may afiect the liver and hence people with chronic liver disease.

Background:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of limited-resource hospitals in managing mild and moderate hospitalized cases of COVID-19 with comorbidities and in preventing their progression to severe ***:Data were obtained from 88 moderate COVID-19 patients with comorbidities who were admitted to limitedresource *** data were classified into several parts:comorbidities,chronic medication before hospital admission,symptoms of COVID-19 before and during hospitalization,clinical features,laboratory findings on hospital admission,complications during hospitalization,as well as worst laboratory values during hospitalization,hospital stay,and *** clinical features,laboratory results,type of oxygen therapy used,and the final treatment outcome were all evaluated to assess for any potential ***:All patients were alive upon *** admission,the majority of patients(60.2%)received COVID-19 treatment,and the average hospital stay was 12 *** most common symptoms were fever(88.7%),cough(95.5%),shortness of breath(90.9%),myalgia(84.1%),confusion(63.6%),headache(62.5%),sore throat(88.7%),rhinorrhea(17%),chest pain(58%),diarrhea(19.3%),nausea and vomiting(38.6%),anosmia(62.5%),as well as dysgeusia(64.8%).Based on chest radiograph or computed tomography(CT)scan,9.1%of the patients had unilateral pneumonia,90.9% had bilateral pneumonia,and 96.6% had multiple mottling and ground-glass *** was found associated with a significant increase in headache(p=0.005),rhinorrhea(p=0.013),chest pain(p=0.007),and the need for positive airway pressure(p=0.008).Between pre-and post-hospital admissions,there was a significant increase in lactate dehydrogenase and ferritin but a decrease in platelet,D-dimer,hemoglobin,lymphocytes,neutrophils,and total leucocyte count(p<0.001).There was a significant association between hospital stay and D-dimer level(p=0.05).Conclusion:Limited-resource hospitals in Egypt w
