Estimation of soil erosion and sediment yield in Wadi El Hachem watershed(Algeria)using the RUSLE-SDR approach

Antimicrobial properties of dental cements modified with zein-coated magnesium oxide nanoparticles

the aim of this study was to test the antimicrobial properties of dental cements modified with magnesium oxide(MgO)***-modified MgO nanoparticles(zMgO)in concentrations(0.0,0.3,0.5,and 1.0%)were mixed with dental cements(Fuji II,Rely X temp E,Ionoglass Cem,Es temp NE,and System P link).Eight discs were fabricated from each zMgO-cement pair for a total of 32 specimens for each *** of the dental cements incorporating zMgO was done by X-ray Diffraction(XRD)and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FESEM).the antimicrobial properties of the mixtures were tested using direct contact and agar diffusion assays against Streptococcus mutans,Staphylococcus aureus,Enterococcus faecalis,and Candida *** was analyzed using two-way analysis of variance and LSD post hoc test at 0.05 significance *** spectra showed sharp peaks of zMgO indicating its high crystalline nature,while the amorphous dental cements with zMgO had broad *** analysis showed a uniform distribution of the zMgO nanoparticles in the *** were significant inhibition zone values associated with all concentrations of zMgO-cement mixtures tested compared to controls(pth a dose-response recorded only with Fuji *** density values were significantly lower in zMgO groups compared to controls for all *** effect was most prominent with Rely X against *** and *** cements containing zMgO showed significant antimicrobial properties that were dependent on the specific initial cement substrate.

An engine rubber mounting is one of the important parts of a vehicle. It is a function to isolate or absorb and to reduce vibration to the vehicle body thus to the passenger itself. Due to the engine compartments environment such as heat and massive vibration due to road conditions, the engine rubber mountings lifespan has been reduced. thus several studies have been conducted to upgrade the material lifespan to make it more reliable and better engine mounting components. this paper presents the conceptual design of kenaf fiber polymer as automotive engine rubber mounting composites using the integration of theory of Inventive Problem Solving(tRIZ). In this early stage, the solution is generated using 40 inventive principles and tRIZ contradiction method. the solution parameter for the specific design character is the selected using the morphological chart to develop a systematic conceptual design for the component. Four(4) innovative design concepts were produced and Analytic Network Process(ANP)methods were utilized to perform the multi-criteria decision-making process of selecting the best concept design for the polymer composite engine rubber mounting component.

Geochemistry of the High Dam Lake sediments,south Egypt:implications for environmental significance

the goal of the present work is to perform a geochemical assessment of High Dam Lake bottom sediments for determining the fate,dispersion and levels of trace elements causing environmental pollution,and provided an access to their probable *** sediment samples were analyzed using ICP-MS for 20 elements;Ag,Ba,Cr,Cu,Ga,Hf,Mn,Pb,Rb,Sc,Sc,Sn,Sr,ta th ti,t1,U,V and Zr,and their obtained data were treated using statistical,graphical and mapping *** results showed the data set of all analyzed elements affected by outliers and extreme values that caused deviation away from *** Wallis test revealed that median of some trace clement levels in Lake sediments,was not significantly different and other elements rejected the Null *** analyzed elements had high values of median and mean in sediments of Lake Nubia rather than Lake Nasser and their normalization gave the same results of calculated environment ***,Lake Nubia sediments possessed high combined EF levels of th,Sc,Sn,Ag,Zr,Hf,ta,Sr,U,ti,V,Cr,and Mn,causing significant contamination,which was great potentially related to industrial,agricultural,urbanization and mining ***,combined EF of Se,Cu,Ga,Pb,Ba,Rb,and tl,which are highly elevated in southern Lake Nasser sediments owing to their source are great possibly derived from Lake Nubia and geogenic *** decreasing distance towards the High Dam body,the contaminant elements were diminished due to reduction in the environmental factors and Sudanese pollution sources leading to the northern Lake Nasser considered to be less ***,the present study is an environmental alert for contaminated sediments that carried contaminants and considered the secondary source of pollution impact on ecosystem,and subsequently,their environmental risk on Human health.

the application of natural fibers as reinforcement in composite material has increased due to environmental concerns,low cost,degradability and health *** purpose of this study is to identify the best type of bamboo fibers to be used as reinforcement for kenaf(K)/bamboo hybrid *** were three types of bamboo fibers evaluated in this study which include bamboo mat(B),bamboo fabric(BF)and bamboo powder(BP).Chemical composition of B,BF,BP and K fibers were analyzed in this *** effect of different types of bamboo fibers on tensile,impact,and morphological properties were *** B/epoxy composites displayed the highest tensile strength(53.03 MPa)while K/epoxy composite had the highest tensile modulus(4.71 GPa).Scanning electron micrographs of B/epoxy composites displayed better fiber/matrix interfacial bonding in comparison to other studied *** showed that impact strength of BF-based composite was highest(45.70 J/m).In conclusion,the tensile strength of B/epoxy composite is superior to the other bamboo reinforced composites and will be further evaluated in the next study.

Effects of water stress on growth phenology photosynthesis and leaf water potential in Stipagrostis ciliata(Desf.)De Winter in North Africa

Stipagrostis ciliata(Desf.)De Winter is a pastoral C4 grass grown in arid *** research work focused on assessing the growth of *** accessions derived from two different climate regions(a wet arid region in the Bou Hedma National Park in the central and southern part of tunisia(coded as WA),and a dry arid region from the Matmata Mountain in the south of tunisia(coded as DA))under water stress ***,the study aimed to investigate the phenological and physiological responses of potted *** seedlings under different water treatments:t_(1)(200 mm/a),t_(2)(150 mm/a),t_(3)(100 mm/a)and t_(4)(50 mm/a).Growth phenology,net photosynthesis(Pn),stomatal conductance(gs),midday leaf water potential(Ψmd),predawn leaf water potential(Ψpd),soil water content(SWC)and soil water potential(Ψs)were observed during the water stress cycle(from December 2016 to November 2017).the obtained results showed that the highest growth potential of the two accessions(WA and DA)was recorded under treatment t_(1).the two accessions responded differently and significantly to water *** parameters,such as Pn and gs,decreased sharply under treatments t_(2),t_(3)and t_(4)compared to treatment t_(1).the higher water stress increased the R/S ratio(the ratio of root dry biomass to shoot dry biomass),with values of 1.29 and 2.74 under treatment t_(4)for accessions WA and DA,*** component analysis(PCA)was applied,and the separation of *** accessions on the first two axes of PCA(PC1 and PC2)suggested that accession DA was detected in the negative extremity of PC1 and PC2 under treatments t_(1)and t_(2).this accession was characterized by a high number of *** treatments t_(3)and t_(4),both accessions were detected in the negative extremity of PC1 and *** were characterized by a high root dry ***,*** accessions responded to water stress by displaying significant changes in their *** WA

Peripartum depression and its predictors:A longitudinal observational hospital-based study

BACKGROUND Depression is a common problem in women in childbearing years due to burdens of motherhood and building a *** studies estimate the prevalence of antepartum depression compared to those in the postpartum *** to estimate the prevalence and the severities of peripartum depression and major depressive disorder and their *** this is a longitudinal observation *** included 200 women scoring≥13 with the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale,indicating presence of symptoms of *** had a gestational age of≥6 wk and did follow-ups until the 10^(th) week to 12^(th) weeks *** of women's reactions to life circumstances and stressors during the current pregnancy were gathered from answers to questions of the designed unstructured clinical *** of depression,anxiety,and parenting stress were determined by the Beck Depression Inventory,State-trait Anxiety Inventory for Adults,and Parenting Stress Index-Short Form,*** interviewing was done to confirm the diagnosis of major *** the levels of triiodothronine(t3),thyroxine(t4),and thyroid stimulating hormone(tSH)was done in both antepartum and postpartum *** Out of 968(mean age=27.35±6.42 years),20.66%(n=200)of the patients had clinically significant symptoms of depression and 7.44%had major *** premenstrual dysphoria,post-abortive depression,and depression unrelated to pregnancy and were reported in 43%,8%,and 4.5%of the patients,*** stressors were reported in 15.5%of the *** anxiety and parenting stress were reported in 90.5%and 65%of the patients,*** t3,t4,and tSH levels did not significantly differ from reference *** analysis showed that anxiety trait was a predictor for antepartum(standardized regression coefficients=0.514,t=8.507,P=0.001)and postpartum(standardized regression coefficients=0.573,t=0.04

Internet of things(Iot)has become a major technological development which offers smart infrastructure for the cloud-edge services by the interconnection of physical devices and virtual things among mobile applications and embedded *** e-healthcare application solely depends on the Iot and cloud computing environment,has provided several characteristics and *** research works reported that the energy consumption for transmission process is significantly higher compared to sensing and processing,which led to quick exhaustion of *** this view,this paper introduces a new energy efficient cluster enabled clinical decision support system(EEC-CDSS)for embedded Iot *** presented EECCDSS model aims to effectively transmit the medical data from Iot devices and perform accurate diagnostic *** EEC-CDSS model incorporates particle swarm optimization with levy distribution(PSO-L)based clustering technique,which clusters the set of Iot devices and reduces the amount of data *** addition,the Iot devices forward the data to the cloud where the actual classification procedure is *** classification process,variational autoencoder(VAE)is used to determine the existence of disease or *** order to investigate the proficient results analysis of the EEC-CDSS model,a wide range of simulations was carried out on heart disease and diabetes *** obtained simulation values pointed out the supremacy of the EEC-CDSS model interms of energy efficiency and classification accuracy.
