M2BPGi for assessing liver fibrosis in patients with hepatitis C treated with direct-acting antivirals

BACKGROUND Assessing liver fibrosis is important for predicting the efficacy of direct-acting antivirals(DAAs)and patient ***-invasive techniques to assess liver fibrosis are becoming ***,serum Mac-2 binding protein glycosylation isomer(M2BPGi)was identified as a non-invasive marker of liver *** To investigate the diagnostic accuracy of M2BPGi in assessing liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis C(CHC)treated with *** From December 2017 to August 2018,80 treatment-naive adult patients with CHC who were eligible for DAAs therapy were consecutively enrolled in this observational cohort *** 12 weeks,65 patients were treated with sofosbuvir/daclatasvir,and 15 patients were treated with sofosbuvir/daclatasvir and a weight-based dose of ribavirin at knowledge and technology association for hepatitis C management clinic,Cairo,*** measured serum M2BPGi levels,PAPAS index,fibrosis-4(FIB-4)score and liver stiffness measurements(LSM)at baseline and 12 weeks after the end of *** M2BPGi levels were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** All patients achieved sustained virologic response(SVR12)(100%).Serum M2BPGi levels,LSM,FIB-4 score and PAPAS index decreased significantly at SVR12(P<0.05).Serum M2BPGi levels correlated positively with LSM at baseline and SVR12(P<0.001).At baseline,compared with the FIB-4 score and PAPAS index,M2BPGi was the best marker to distinguish patients with grade F4 fibrosis(AUC=0.801,P<0.001),patients with grade F2 from grade F0-1 fibrosis(AUC=0.713,P=0.012),patients with grade F3-4 from grade F0-2 fibrosis(AUC=0.730,P<0.001),and patients with grade F2-4 from grade F0-1 fibrosis(AUC=0.763,P<0.001).At SVR12,M2BPGi had the greatest AUCs for differentiating patients with grade F4 fibrosis(AUC=0.844,P<0.001),patients with grade F3 from grade F0-2 fibrosis(AUC=0.893,P=0.002),patients with grade F3-4 from grade F0-2 fibrosis(AUC=0.891,P<0.001),and patients with grad

Background and Objective: Head trauma in infants is a common health problem that has not been the focus of many research articles. The aim of study was to describe the epidemiology, etiology, management and clinical outcome of head trauma in infants (<2 years) in a high flow tertiary hospital. Patients and Methods: This study was conducted on 95 consecutive infants with head trauma admitted to the neurotrauma unit in Cairo University hospitals during the period between September 2013 and December 2014. The data of these patients including age, sex, mode of trauma, neurological status on admission, CT findings, operative details in surgical cases, clinical outcome, and length of hospital stay were analyzed. Results: The study included 57 boys and 38 girls, with mean age of 13.2 months (range: 3 days - 23 months). The most common mode of trauma was falls (82.1%). Most of the patients had mild head injury (84.2%). Twenty two patients were operated upon, including 9 patients for evacuation of hematomas, 11 patients for elevation of depressed fractures, 1 patient for decompressive craniotomy and 1 patient for growing skull fracture. Good recovery followed in 83 patients. There were 4 deaths. Mean length of stay was 4 days (range: 1 - 31 days). Conclusion: Most of head injuries in infants are mild. The commonest etiology is falls, which is a preventable cause in many circumstances. The majority of these patients do not require surgical intervention. Good recovery is the rule in most of these infants with low mortality rates.

Chenopodium album is an invasive weed in wheat fields in Egypt. The present study indicated the potentials for utilization of MILAE （Mangifera indica leaves aqueous extract） at different concentrations （5%, 10%, 15% and 25%） to suppress the germination and growth of C. album in Petri dish experiment Results indicated that predictable degrees of inhibition in C album germination and growth rate of seedlings were accompanied with the increase in the concentration of MILAE. Insects are well recognized as a source of potentially useful compounds for modern medicine. Development of anticancer drugs from natural resources has been performed throughout the world. In the present study, anticancer activity of the hemolymph and fat body of Sarcophaga argyrostoma third larval instars is assayed against human breast cancer cell line (MDA-MB-231 cells). The cytotoxicity of the hemolymph and fat body samples were determined. The results showed that growth of MDA-MB-231 cells was inhibited at different concentrations upon 24 h of exposure. There is no inhibitory activity against Vero cells under these experimental conditions. Protein profile of the hemolymph and fat body were extracted and separated using sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Protein analysis showed differences in number of electrophoretic protein bands with different molecular weights between treated and control larvae. The present work assumes that hemolymph and fat body tissue have cytotoxicity against MDA-MB-231 cells and these results exhibit that larvae from S. argyrostoma could be used as a good source for developing anti-cancer agents and knowledge of these anti-cancer compounds will lead to better control of human disease.

Innovative definitions of the electric and magnetic diffusivities through conducting mediums and innovative diffusion equations of the electric charges and magnetic flux are verified in this article. Such innovations depend on the analogy of the governing laws of diffusion of the thermal, electrical, and magnetic energies and newly defined natures of the electric charges and magnetic flux as energy, or as electromagnetic waves, that have electric and magnetic potentials. The introduced diffusion equations of the electric charges and magnetic flux involve Laplacian operator and the introduced diffusivities. Both equations are applied to determine the electric and magnetic fields in conductors as the heat diffusion equation which is applied to determine the thermal field in steady and unsteady heat diffusion conditions. The use of electric networks for experimental modeling of thermal networks represents sufficient proof of similarity of the diffusion equations of both fields. By analysis of the diffusion phenomena of the three considered modes of energy transfer;the rates of flow of these energies are found to be directly proportional to the gradient of their volumetric concentration, or density, and the proportionality constants in such relations are the diffusivity of each energy. Such analysis leads also to find proportionality relations between the potentials of such energies and their volumetric concentrations. Validity of the introduced diffusion equations is verified by correspondence their solutions to the measurement results of the electric and magnetic fields in microwave ovens.

Objective:To compare both techniques of detubularized ileocaecal and ileal neobladder post radical cystectomy with regards to functional results in the form of continence(day and night)with the use of urodynamics(for assessment of voiding volume and pouch capacity).Methods:This is a prospective randomized clinical trial that was done at the National Cancer Institute,Cairo University from August 2016 and January ***-two patients presented with muscle invasive urinary bladder cancer and no history of urinary incontinence or urethral stricture were included in this *** patients underwent preoperative cystoscopic *** cystectomy was done,and patients were divided into two groups according to the type of *** A included 31 patients with orthotopoic detubularized ileal neobladder and group B included 31 patients with orthotopic detubularized ileocaecal *** studies were done to 27 patients in group A and 27 patients in group B at just 6 and 12 months ***:The mean age in group A was 59.2±8.0 while in group B was 57.8±*** each group,we compared day and night continence in a period of 3 and 6 *** in group A,day continence after 3 months was 81.5% which improved to 96.3% after 6 months postoperatively with significant P-value(0.025).Night continence after 3 months was fair in 66.7%,unsatisfactory in 33.3% and 0% for good state which improved to 70% for fair state,18% unsatisfactory and 11% for good state after 6 months with significant P-value(0.035)while in group B,day continence after 3 months and 6 months postoperatively was 100% and night continence after 3 months was good in 0.0%,fair in 78.6% and unsatisfactory in 21.4% which improved to 10.7% for good state,85.7% for fair state and 3.6% for unsatisfactory after 6 months with significant P-value(0.005).Conclusion:There are no significant differences between detubularized ileocaecal and ileal neobladder in relation to contin

汉语作为世界上使用人口最多的一种语言,这些年来,伴随着中国改革开放的不断深化,中国与世界各国之间的国际交流也变得越来越频繁,再加上中国拥有五千年悠久的历史文化,吸引了越来越多的人学习汉语。汉语中的谚语作为汉语文化中一个极具代表性的文化瑰宝,也是汉语教学中非常重要的一个部分;由于阿拉伯国家和中国在文化上有着很大差异,导致阿拉伯汉语学习者在学习汉语遇到很多的问题,学习汉语谚语时更是如此。因此,本论文的目的是通过问卷调查来了解阿拉伯汉语学习者在理解汉语谚语时出现障碍的原因。笔者以此为出发点,对阿拉伯汉语学习者进行了问卷调查和访谈,并据此深入分析归纳出学习者共同存在的问题,提出一些学习建议,依照自己的学习经验和积累的教学观摩知识,尝试设计一个针对阿拉伯学生汉语谚语学习的教学方案。本文内容分为五个部分:第一,主要阐述了本论文的选题背景、选题目的、相关的文献综述以及研究方法;第二,阿拉伯谚语和汉语谚语的来源及定义;第三,分析造成汉语谚语与阿拉伯谚语文化理解差异的主要因素,主要从宗教、自然环境、风俗习惯等三个方面来说明;第四,问卷设计思路和目的、问卷具体内容、以及调查分析和问卷调查的总结。最后的部分,在问卷调查的基础之上,提出的一些对阿拉伯学生学习汉语谚语的建议和方法以及汉语谚语的教学教案示例。

Numerical simulation and analysis of confined turbulent buoyant jet with variable source

In this work, experimental and numerical investigations are undertaken for confined buoyant turbulent jet with varying inlet temperatures. Results of the experimental work and numerical simulations for the problem under consideration are presented. Four cases of different variable inlet temperatures and different flow rates are considered. The realizable k-ε turbulence model is used to model the turbulent flow. Comparisons show good agreements between simulated and measured results. The average devia- tion of the simulated temperature by realizable k-ε turbulent model and the measured temperature is within 2%. The results indicate that temperatures along the vertical axis vary, generally, in nonlinear fashion as opposed to the approximately linear varia- tion that was observed for the constant inlet temperature that was done in a previous work. Furthermore, thermal stratification exits, particularly closer to the entrance region. Further away from the entrance region the variation in temperatures becomes relatively smaller. The stratification is observed since the start of the experiment and continues during the whole course. Numerical experime- nts for constant, monotone increasing and monotone decreasing of inlet temperature are done to show its effect on the buoyancy force in terms of Richardson number.

Herein,iron oxide/hydroxides deposits(gossans)were utilized,for the first time,in the fabrication of magnetite nanoparticles(MNPs)to load modified coal(MC).The as-synthesized MNPs@MC composite was characterized via different techniques and utilized for the Cr(Ⅵ)*** studies supported by theoretical treatment were applied to offer a new overview of the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption geometry and mechanism at 25-45℃.Experimental results suggested that the Cr(Ⅵ)uptake was mainly governed by adsorption-reduction coupled *** Langmuir model fitted well the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption data with maximum adsorption capacities extended from 115.24 to 129.63 mg·g^(-1).Theoretical calculations indicated that Cr(Ⅵ)ions were adsorbed on the MNPs@MC following the theory of the advanced monolayer statistical *** number of ions removed per site ranged from 1.88 to1.23 suggesting the involvement of vertical geometry and multi-ionic mechanism at all *** increment of the active sites density and the adsorption capacity at saturation with improving temperature reflected an endothermic ***,the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption was controlled by physical forces as the adsorption energies were less than 40 kJ·mol^(-1).The calculated free enthalpy,*** internal energy explained the spontaneous nature and the viability of Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption on the MNPs@MC *** results offer a new approach in utilizing the iron-rich deposits as gossans in the preparation of magnetic and low-cost adsorbents for wastewater remediation.
