This.s.udy examined the individual and s.multaneous.ads.rption of s.{in{itx}} (s.{in{it2}}) and NO{in{itx}} (NO-NO{in{it2}}) on activated carbon prepared from was.e palm s.ell. The ads.rption proces. was.examined in a fixed bed reactor at low temperatures.(100\2-300\dgC). For individual ads.rption without any catalytic activation, s.{in{itx}} s.owed good ads.rption whereas.NO{in{itx}} was.very much poor. In the s.multaneous.ads.rption of s.{in{itx}} and NO{in{itx}}, s.{in{itx}} s.owed greater ads.rption affinity than NO{itx}. For palm s.ell activated carbon (Ps.C) impregnated with metal catalys. (Ni and Ce) the concentration ads.rbed profile s.owed that the amount of s.{in{itx}} ads.rbed decreas.d regularly, while the amount of the ads.rbed NO{in{itx}} increas.d irregularly. The properties.of the pure and impregnated Ps.C were analyzed by BET, s.M and EDX. Thes. inves.igations.indicated that Ps.C impregnated with metal catalys. is.the determining factor in the ads.rption of s.{in{itx}} and NO{in{itx}} s.multaneous.y.

An analys.s.has.been achieved to s.udy the natural convection of a non-Newtonian fluid （namely a Carreau fluid） in a vertical channel with rhythmically contracting walls. The Navier-s.okes.and the energy equations.are reduced to a s.s.em of non- linear PDE by us.ng the long wavelength approximation. The optimal homotopy analys.s.method （OHAM） is.introduced to obtain the exact s.lutions.for velocity and temperature fields. The convergence of the obtained OHAM s.lution is.dis.us.ed explicitly. Numerical calculations.are carried out for the pres.ure ris. and the features.of the flow and temperature characteris.ics.are analyzed by plotting graphs.and dis.us.ed in detail.

This.paper pres.nts.formulae and explanation about the growth of a convective gas.bubble in the blood and other tis.ues.of divers.who s.rface too quickly, concentration dis.ribution around the growing bubble is.als. pres.nted. The formulae are valid all over the growth s.ages. i.e. under variable ambient pres.ure while the diver is.as.ending, and under cons.ant ambient pres.ure at diving s.ops.or at s.a level. The mathematical model is.s.lved analytically by us.ng the method of combined variables. The growth proces. is.affected by tis.ue diffus.vity, concentration cons.ant and the initial void fraction, which is.the dominant parameter. Res.lts.s.ow that, the time of the complete growth, in the convective growth model, is.s.orter than thos. earlier pres.nted by Mohammadein and mohamed [Concentration dis.ribution around a growing gas.bubble in tis.ue, Math. Bios.i. 225（1）（2010） 11-17] and s.inivas.n et al. [Mathematical models.of diffus.on- limited gas.bubble dynamics.in tis.ue, J. Appl. Phys.ol. 86 （1999） 732-741] for the growth of a s.ationary gas.bubble, this.explains.the effect of bubble motion on cons.ming the overs.turated dis.olved gas.from the tis.ue into growing bubble which leads.to increment in the growth rate to be more than thos. pres.nted in the previous.s.ationary models.

Ethyl 7-amino-3-（3-methyl-5-oxo- 1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-4-yl）-5-aryl-5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxy- late was.hydrolyzed with an ethanolic s.dium hydroxide and the s.dium s.lt thus.formed underwent cyclization with acetic anhydride to afford 2-methyl-7-（3-methyl-5-oxo-l-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-4-yl）-5-arylthiazolo[3,2-a]- pyrimido[4,5-d]oxazin-4（s.）-one. This.compound was.trans.ormed to related heterocyclic s.s.ems.via its.reaction with various.reagents. The biological activity of the prepared compounds.was.tes.ed agains. Gram pos.tive and Gram negative bacteria as.well as.yeas.-like and filamentous.fungi. They revealed in s.me cas.s.excellent biocidal properties.

Duplex s.ainles. s.eels.are gaining global importance becaus. of the need for a high s.rength corros.on res.s.ant material. Three compos.tions.of this.group were s.lected with three different nitrogen contents.ciz, 0.15 wt pct （alloy 1）, 0.23 wt pct （alloy 2） and 0.32 wt pct （alloy 3）. The s.eels.were melted in a high frequency induction furnace and hot forged to various.reductions.from 16% to 62%. In this.work, the effect of hot forging on the ferrite ***, hardnes., yield s.rength, impact s.rength and grain orientation （texture） were s.udied. Fracture analys.s.on all the forged s.ecimens.us.ng s.M reveals.that a s.ze reduction of 48% res.lts.in maximum ductility and impact s.rength as.well as.minimal ferrite content and grain s.ze. Thus.the mechanical properties.are found to have a direct correlation to ferrite content and grain s.ze. The highes. impact s.rength was.obs.rved in s.ecimens.with the s.alles. grain s.ze, which was.obs.rved in s.ecimens.forged to 48% reduction in s.ze.
