Background: Pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) involves defects in β-cell function with impaired first and second phase insulin response, and reduced insulin sensitivity. Diabetic dyslipidemia is an important and common risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD). Aims: This study examined the effect of glycemic control on post prandial insulin and lipid parameters in response to a standardised meal challenge among Type 2 diabetes patients with good and poor glycemic control. Methods: We cross-sectionally studied 31 T2DM patients with good glycemic control and 32 T2DM patients with poor glycemic control. Subjects were given, after minimum 10 hours of fasting, a standard meal containing 58% fat. Fasting and serial postprandial blood samples were taken over 8 hours to determine levels of triglyceride, direct LDL-C, apoB lipoprotein, non-esterified-fatty-acid, insulin and blood glucose. Results: Post prandial NEFA was significantly higher in poor controlled diabetes patients compared to good control diabetes patients (p = 0.019), and post-hoc analysis showed significant difference from 3 hours post prandial to 4 hours post prandial, where p= 0.021. Although the difference in insulin between the 2 groups did not reach statistical significance (p =0.058), post-hoc analysis showed significant difference between the 2 groups from fasting to 1 hour post prandial (p = 0.034) despite postprandial glucose being significantly higher in poor controlled diabetes patients (p < 0.001), throughout the postprandial period. Conclusion: T2DM patients with good glycemic control have improved insulin response with lower non-esterified fatty acid.

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(***)is associated with the development of gastrointestinal disorders ranging from gastritis to gastric *** evidence of the association between metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis(MASH)and *** infection in the literature is ***,we aim to evaluate the risk of developing MASH in patients who have had a diagnosis of *** infection independently of any confounding *** To evaluate the risk of developing MASH in patients who have had a diagnosis of *** *** This study used a validated multicenter research database of over 360 hospitals across 26 healthcare systems across the United States from 1999 to *** regression analysis assessed the risk of developing MASH,adjusting for confounders including *** infection,obesity,type 2 diabetes,hypertension,dyslipidemia,and male gender.A two-sided P value<0.05 was considered as statistically significant,and all statistical analyses were performed using R version 4.0.2(R Foundation for Statistical Computing,Vienna,Austria,2008).RESULTS A total of 79476132 individuals were screened in the database and 69232620 were selected in the final analysis after accounting for inclusion and exclusion ***(14.30%),patients with hyperlipidemia(70.35%),hypertension(73.86%),diabetes mellitus type 2(56.46%),and obese patients(58.15%)were more common in patients with MASH compared to *** a multivariate regression analysis,the risk of MASH was increased in diabetics[odds ratio(OR):3.55;95%CI:3.48-3.62],obese(OR:5.93;95%CI:5.81-6.04),males(OR:1.49;95%CI:1.46-1.52),individuals with hyperlipidemia(OR:2.43;95%CI:2.38-2.49)and *** infection(OR:2.51;95%CI:2.31-2.73).CONCLUSION This is the largest population-based study in the United States illustrating an increased prevalence and odds of developing MASH in patients with *** infection after adjusting for risk factors.

The Preparation of 9-Methyl-3-thiophen-2-yl-thieno [3, 2-e] [1, 2, 4] triazolo [4, 3-c] pyrimi-dine-8-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is described. Elemental analysis, IR spectrum, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and X-ray crystal structure analyses were carried out to determine the composition and molecular structure of the title compound. There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit exhibiting intermolecular C-H…N, C-H…O interactions with additional π-π interaction that further helps in stabilizing the supramolecular structure. The results showed that the proposed method for synthesis is simple, precise and accurate which was further confirmed by crystal structure analysis.

normal" style="font-size:medium;white-space:normal;"> normal" style="text-align:justify;font-size:medium;white-space:normal;"> Distribution patterns of selected heavy metals content in sediments from the Bay of Quiberon and Gulf of Morbihan were studied to understand the current heavy metals contamination due to urbanization and mariculture activities in the coastal area. Therefore, a survey was conducted and 196 sediments collected were characterized for heavy metals content using Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) after mix acid digestion process. The distribution maps of the concentrations of the heavy metals studied were produced as an isopleth map based on data interpolation by the ArcGIS software application. The association with the adverse effects on aquatic organisms was determined by the classification of the sediment according to the sediment quality guidelines. Therefore, two approaches were employed namely: direct comparison with Sediment Quality Guidelines (SQGs) by USEPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) and comparison with other numerical SQGs, threshold effect level/probable effect level, and effect range low/effect range medium. In order to estimate the effect of multiple contaminations of heavy metals, the mean-ERM-quotient was calculated at each sampling point.

This paper has proposed a new methodology extracting stability classes of field association words depending on automatically power link analysis to enhance the precision of decision tree. In this paper, we have studied the effects of the time variation based on the frequencies of specific words called field association words that connected to documents using power link in a specific period. The stability classes have referred to the popularity of field association words based on the change of time in a given period. The new approach has evaluated by conducting experiments simulating results of 1575 files (about 5.16 MB). Based on these experiments, it has turned out that, the F-measure for ascending, stable and descending classes have achieved 93.6%, 99.8% and 75.7%, respectively. These results mean that F-measure was increasing by 12%, 4% and 34% than traditional methods because of the power link analysis.

BACKGROUND Cognitive frailty,characterized by the coexistence of cognitive impairment and physical frailty,represents a multifaceted challenge in the aging *** role of cardiovascular risk factors in this complex interplay is not yet fully *** To investigate the relationships between cardiovascular risk factors and older persons with cognitive frailty by pooling data from two cohorts of studies in *** A comprehensive approach was employed,with a total of 512 communitydwelling older persons aged 60 years and above,involving two cohorts of older persons from previous *** related to cardiovascular risks,namely sociodemographic factors,and cardiovascular risk factors,including hypertension,diabetes,hypercholesterolemia,anthropometric characteristics and biochemical profiles,were pooled for *** frailty was defined based on the Clinical Dementia Rating scale and Fried frailty *** risk was determined using Framingham risk *** analyses were conducted using SPSS version *** Of the study participants,46.3%exhibited cognitive *** risk factors including hypertension(OR:1.60;95%CI:1.12-2.30),low fat-free mass(OR:0.96;95%CI:0.94-0.98),high percentage body fat(OR:1.04;95%CI:1.02-1.06),high waist circumference(OR:1.02;95%CI:1.01-1.04),high fasting blood glucose(OR:1.64;95%CI:1.11-2.43),high Framingham risk score(OR:1.65;95%CI:1.17-2.31),together with sociodemographic factors,i.e.,being single(OR 3.38;95%CI:2.26-5.05)and low household income(OR 2.18;95%CI:1.44-3.30)were found to be associated with cognitive *** Cardiovascular-risk specific risk factors and sociodemographic factors were associated with risk of cognitive frailty,a prodromal stage of *** identification and management of cardiovascular risk factors,particularly among specific group of the population might mitigate the risk of cognitive frailty,hence preventing dementia.
