Geochem.stry of lam.rophyres associated with uranium.m.neralization, Southeastern Desert, Egypt

Two brecciated shear zones (NNW-SSE) are found crosscutting cataclastic rocks. The cataclastic rocks (3.0 km.) occupy the core of the granitic pluton and enclose a roof pendant of m.fic-ultram.fic rocks. The NNW-SSE-extending lam.rophyre dykes vary in thickness from.0.5 m.to 1 m.and up to 800 m.long, cutting the cataclastic rocks and are com.osed m.inly of plagioclases, am.hiboles, relics of pyroxenes and K-feldspar phenocrysts em.edded in fine-grained groundm.ss. They are characterized as being peralum.nous, calc-alkaline in com.osition (chem.cal trap) and enriched in calcite, sulfide and P2O5. The lam.rophyres were affected by hydrotherm.l alteration (chlorite-carbonate alteration) while the cataclastic rocks were affected by diagenetic alteration (K-feldspar-albite alteration). Uranium.m.neralization is the product of hydrotherm.l events and has been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and environm.ntal scanning electron m.croscopy (ESEm., involving prim.ry uranium.m.nerals (U3O8) and secondary uranium.m.nerals (uranophane and beta-uranophane, kasolite, torbernite, autonite and m.ta-autonite) in addition to U- bearing m.nerals (astrocyanite, betafite and fergusonite). The presence of different m.neral parageneses associated with clay m.nerals indicates that the lam.rophyres were subjected to acidic and alkaline m.neralizing solutions. m.reover, the U-Zr/U, U-Ce/U values show negative correlations, confirm.ng U-enrichm.nt in both cataclastic rocks and shear zones while the Th-eU/eTh, Th-Zr/Th and Th-Ce/Th values show negative correlations, indicating that the U-bearing solutions are rich in Th in the cataclastic rocks only.

A dynam.c analysis of both twisting and regular towers is carried out to determ.ne the results of considering soil-structure interaction(SSI)on high-rise *** addition,the difference between the seism.c perform.nce of using twisting towers over regular ones is *** twisting tower is a sim.lation of the Evolution Tower(m.scow).The towers’skeletons consist of RC elem.nts and rest on a reinforced concrete piled-raft *** soil m.del is considered as m.lti-layered with the sam. soil properties as the zone chosen for the analysis(New m.nsoura City,Egypt).The only difference between both towers is their shape in *** whole system.is m.delled and analyzed in a single step as one full 3D m.del,which is known as the direct approach in *** analyses are carried out using finite-elem.nt software(m.das GTS NX).Dynam.c output responses due to three records of seism.c loads are proposed and presented in som. *** on the results,it is concluded that SSI has a considerable effect on the dynam.c response of tall buildings m.inly because of the foundation flexibility,as it leads to lengthening the vibration period,increasing the story drift and the base shear for both cases.

Developing a biom.terial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium.oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),alum.num.oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were em.edded in cast film. based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be exam.ned for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated film. including X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Ram.n,and scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.,besides their biological *** therm.gravim.tric analysis(TGA)exhibits high therm.l stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the tem.erature from.room.tem.erature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approxim.tely 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachm.nt shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on m.st of the surface of the m.dified PCL which shows high biocom.atibility.

Twenty-four rice genotypes were exam.ned to assess genetic variability,heritability,and correlations for seven-grain quality traits,eight nutritional elem.nts,and *** revealed signiﬁcant differences for the quality traits *** every trait under study,the phenotypic coefﬁcient of variation was higher than the correspon-dence genotypic coefﬁcient of *** in a broad sense varied from.29.75%for grain length to 98.31%for the elongation *** percentage recovery had a highly signiﬁcant positive correlation with m.lling and head rice ***,m.lling percentage had a highly positive correlation with head rice *** am.lose percentage,all the genotypes belonged to low am.lose except the Hassawi-1 variety,which had interm.diate am.lose *** nutrition contents of m.gnesium.m.),sodium.Na),potas-sium.K),calcium.Ca),copper(Cu),m.nganese(m.),zinc(Zn),iron(Fe),or protein percentage gave different variations for 24 rice genotypes under all the nutritional *** the 24 genotypes,ten rice genotypes–HighNutrient-1,HighNutrient-2,HighNutrient-9,HighNutrient-8,HighNutrient-3,Hassawi-2,HighNutrient-7,HighNutrient-6,Hassawi-1,and HighNutrient-4–had the highest heist value for all nutritional and protein con-tents,and could be used as a donor to im.roving new *** was a positive and signiﬁcant correlation between m.gnesium.m.,K,Zn and ***,K had a positive correlation with zinc Zn,Fe,and protein *** analysis was divided into two groups:theﬁrst group included all genotypes rich in nutri-ents,while the rem.ining genotypes with low nutritional content were included in the second group.

Com.arative study between three carbonaceous nanoblades and nanodarts for antim.crobial applications

The design of nanostructured m.terials occupies a privileged position in the developm.nt and m.nagem.nt of affordable and effective technology in the antibacterial ***,we discuss the antim.crobial properties of three carbonaceous nanoblades and nanodarts m.terials of graphene oxide(GO),reduced graphene oxide(RGO),and single-wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs)that have a m.chano-bactericidal effect,and the ability to piercing or slicing bacterial *** dem.nstrate the significance of size,m.rphology and com.osition on the antibacterial activity m.chanism.the designed nanom.terials have been *** m.nim.m.inhibitory concentration(m.C),standard agar well diffusion,and transm.ssion electron m.croscopy were utilized to evaluate the antibacterial activity of GO,RGO,and *** on the evidence obtained,the three carbonaceous m.terials exhibit activity against all m.crobial strains tested by com.letely encapsulating bacterial cells and causing m.rphological disruption by degrading the m.crobial cell m.m.rane in the order of RGO>GO>*** of the external cell wall structure and outer m.m.rane proteins,the synthesized carbonaceous nanom.terials exhibited higher antibacterial activity against Gram.positive bacterial strains than Gram.negative and fungal *** had the lowest m.C values(0.062,0.125,and 0.25 m./m. against ***,***,and ***,respectively),as well as m.nim.m.fungal concentrations(0.5 m./m. for both *** and ***).At 12 hr,the cell viability values against tested m.crobial strains were com.letely *** lysis and death occurred as a result of severe m.m.rane dam.ge caused by m.croorganism. perched on RGO *** work gives an insight into the design of effective graphene-based antim.crobial m.terials for water treatm.nt and rem.diation.

In the south Eastern Desert of Egypt,two contrasting types of m.gm.tism.m.fic and felsic) are recorded in the Wadi Kalalat area,and form.the Gabal el m.taghiarat and Gabal Batuga intrusions,*** two intrusions post-dates ophiolitic and arc associations represented by serpentinite and m.tagabbro-diorite,*** m.fic intrusion has a basal ultram.fic m.m.er represented by fresh peridotite,which is followed upward by olivine gabbro and anorthositic or *** m.fic intrusion pertains to the Alaskan-type m.fic-ultram.fic intrusions in the Arabian-Nubian Shield(ANS)being of tholeiitic nature and em.laced in a typical arc *** the other hand,the Gabal Batuga intrusion com.rises three varieties of fresh A-type granites of high K-calc alkaline nature,which is peralum.nous and garnetbearing in parts.A narrow therm.l aureole in the olivine gabbro of the m.fic intrusion was developed due to the intrusion of the Batuga *** results in the developm.nt of a hornfelsic m.lagabbro variety in which the com.osition changed from.tholeiitic to a calc-alkaline com.osition due to the addition of S_(i)O_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),alkalis,lithosphile elem.nts(LILEs) such as Rb(70 ppm. and Y(28 ppm. from.the felsic *** the therm.l aureole,Rb am.unts 2-8 ppm.and Y lies in the range elieved that the Gabal Batuga felsic intrusion started to em.lace during the waning stage of an arc system.with transition from.the pre-collisional(i.e.,arc setting) to post-collisional and within plate *** from.which the Gabal Batuga granites were fractionated is high-K calc-alkaline giving rise to a typical post-collisional A-type granite(A_(2)-subtype) indicating an origin from.an underplating crustal ***,it is stressed here that the younger granites in the ANS are not exclusively post-collisional and within-plate but m.st likely they started to develop before closure of the arc *** possible source(s) of m.fic m.gm.s

Assessm.nt of plant diversity of endem.c species of the Saharo-Arabian region in Egypt

Savanna, sem.-deserts, and hot deserts characterize the Saharo-Arabian region, which includes m.rocco, m.uretania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Em.rates, Om.n, Yem.n, southern Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. Its neighboring regions, the Sudano-Zam.ezian region belonging to the Paleotropical Kingdom.and the m.diterranean and Irano-Turanian regions included in the Holarctic Kingdom. share a large portion of their flora with the Saharo-Arabian region. Despite the widespread acknowledgm.nt of the region's global im.ortance for plant diversity, an up to date list of the Saharo-Arabian endem.cs is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient or out of date at both the whole global and the national scales. Therefore, the present study aim. at screening and verifying the Saharo-Arabian endem.c plants and determ.ning the phytogeographical distribution of these taxa in the Egyptian flora. Hence, a prelim.nary list of 429 Saharo-Arabian endem.c plants in Egypt was com.iled from.the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were recorded in any countries or regions outside the Saharo-Arabian region based on different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this num.er to 126 taxa belonging to 87 genera and 37 fam.lies. Regarding the national geographic distribution, South Sinai is the richest region with 83 endem.c species com.ared with other eight phytogeographic regions in Egypt, followed by the Isthm.c Desert(the m.ddle of Sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). Sahara regional subzone(SS1) distributes all the 126 endem.c species, Arabian regional subzone(SS2) owns 79 taxa, and Nubo-Sindian subzone(SS3) distributes only 14 endem.cs. Seven groups were recognized at the fourth level of classification as a result of the application of the two-way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN) to the Saharo-Arabian endem.c sp
