High-temperature carbonized metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)derivatives have demonstrated their superiority for promising electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbers,but they still suffer from limited EMW absorption capacity and narrow *** the advantage of microstructure and chemical composition regulation for the design of EMW absorber,hierarchical heterostructured MoS_(2)/CoS_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4)@cabonized cotton fabric(CF)(MCC@CCF)is prepared by growing ZIF-67 MOFs onto CF surface,chemical etching,and *** from the dual loss mechanism of magnetic-dielectric multicomponent carbonized MOFs,chemical etching and carbonization process can effectively introduce abundant micro-gap structure that can result in better impedance matching and stronger absorption capacity via internal reflection,doped heteroatoms(Mo,N,S)to supply additional dipolar polarization loss,and numerous heterointerfaces among MoS_(2),CoS_(2),Co_(3)O_(4),and CCF that produce promoted conduction loss and interfacial polarization ***,a minimal reflection loss of−52.87 dB and a broadest effective absorption bandwidth of 6.88 GHz were achieved via tunning the sample thickness and filler loading,showing excellent EMW absorption *** research is of great value for guiding the research on MOFs derivatives based EMW absorbing materials.

Surgical Management of Mitral Valve Infective Endocarditis with Accidental Finding of Open Pulmonary Tuberculosis

Objective: This case report aimed to highlight intersections of TB and Cardiovasular diseases which carry high morbidity and mortality rates. Methods: We are reporting the surgical management of forty seven years female who had back ground history of IDDM (Insulin dependent diabetic Mellitus), ESRD (End stage renal disease) on HD (haemodialysis) also she had left subclavian artery stenosis, and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. She was diagnosed with mitral valve infective endocarditis and found accidently to have an open pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) on the day before surgery. Results: She was started on first line anti-TB treatment. She was isolated in her private room and airborne precautions measures applied. The patient underwent a tissue Mitral Valve replacement and tricuspid valve repair annuloplasty. Special precautions were applied in Theatre and on cardiopulmonary bypass Machine guided by KAMC-J disinfection protocol. The patient made good recovery postoperatively. She was discharged well on day 7 post operatively. Conclusion: Intersections of TB and cardiovasular diseases carry high morbidity and mortality rates. Early diagnosis and early anti tuberculosis treatment can surely improve the patient prognosis. Our decontamination and disinfective procedures are recommended. Cases like this should be monitored long term for the development of further cardiovascular complication.

Background: Nosocomial infections have become a major challenge in healthcare facilities as they affect the quality of medical care. Radiological imaging plays a crucial role in medical diagnosis. However, the equipment and accessories used increase the risk of transmission of nosocomial bacteria. Objective: This study aims to reveal the extent and nature of microbiological contamination in four hospital diagnostic imaging departments to determine their potential role in the spread of nosocomial bacteria and to evaluate the effectiveness of routine daily disinfection practices in controlling microorganisms in diagnostic imaging departments. Methods & Results: In each department, swabs were taken from the surfaces of selected parts of the equipment and accessories three times a day (early morning, noon, and evening) for five consecutive days. Bacteria were isolated from 65 swabs (36.1% of all samples). The bacteria were isolated 3 times (4.6%) in the morning, 16 times (24.6%) at midday, and 46 times (70.7%) in the evening. The bacteria isolated were Escherichia coli (isolated 34 times;52.3%), Staphylococcus aureus (20 times;30.8%), Staphylococcus epidermidis (6 times;9.3%), and Klebsiella species (5 times;7.7%). Discussion & Conclusion: Findings demonstrated that radiology equipment and accessories are not free of bacteria and further improvements in the sterilization and disinfection of radiology equipment and accessories are needed to protect staff and patients from nosocomial infections.

The current study aimed to evaluate the first aid knowledge and general awareness of bleeding control, and their relations with different variables among the population of Jazan City, Saudi Arabia, in 2023. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia between April 2023 and May 2023. Participants, >13 years old, living in Jazan City, were self-enrolled. Data collection was carried out by distributing a self-reported online survey questionnaire via email and social media apps. A validated, pretested online self-report questionnaire was used for data collection, with data analysis performed using (MS) Excel 2022 and SPSS version 26. A Chi-square test was used to determine the association of sociodemographic variables and Bleeding Control (BC) knowledge with, significance set at p < 0.05. A total of 250 participants completed the questionnaire, predominantly aged between 16 - 25 years, with 152 (60.8%) being male, and about 90% being Saudi citizens. Only 53 (21.2%) participated in previous first aid training concentrating on bleeding control. Only 76 (30.4%) of participants had good knowledge, while 131 (52.4%) exhibited positive attitude towards BC first aid. There were no statistically significant associations between BC knowledge and age, gender, occupation, nationality, and education. However, a significant association was observed between previous BC training and knowledge (Chi-test = 40.373, d.f = 1, p = 0.000) at p < 0.05. Conclusion: The prevalence of poor knowledge of bleeding control among community members in Jazan City was high. The findings of this study should be carefully considered by various healthcare organizations to implement educational first-aid programs and activities aimed at enhancing community awareness and knowledge of bleeding control.

t We propose a framework for automatic fall detection based on video visual feature extraction. The proposed approach relies on a membership histogram descriptor that encodes the visual properties of the video frames. This descriptor is obtained by mapping the original low-level visual features to a more discriminative descriptor using possibilistic memberships. This mapping can be summarized in two main phases. The first one consists in categorizing the low-level visual features of the video frames arid generating homogeneous clusters in an unsupervised way. The second phase uses the obtained membership degrees generated by the clustering process to compute the membership based histogram descriptor （MHD）. For the testing stage, the proposed fall detection approach categorizes unlabeled videos as ＂Fall＂ or ＂Non-Fall＂ scene using a possibilistic K-nearest neighbors classifier. The proposed approach is assessed using standard videos dataset that simulates patient fall. Also, we compare its performance with that of state-of-the-art fall detection techniques.

In power plants,flue gases can cause severe corrosion damage in metallic parts such as flue ducts,heat exchangers,and *** is an effective technique to prevent this damage.A robust fuzzy model of the surface roughness(Ra and Rz)of flue gas ducts coated by protective composite coating from epoxy and nanoparticles was constructed based on the experimental *** proposed model consists of four nanoparticles(ZnO,ZrO2,SiO2,and NiO)with 2%,4%,6%,and 8%,*** surface methodology(RSM)was used to optimize the process parameters and identify the optimal conditions for minimum surface roughness of this coated *** prove the superiority of the proposed fuzzy model,the model results were compared with those obtained by ANOVA,with the coefficient of determination and the root-mean-square error(RMSE)used as *** Ra,for the first output response,using ANOVA,the coefficient-of-determination values were 0.9137 and 0.4037,respectively,for training and ***,for Rz,the second output response,the coefficient-of-determination results were 0.9695 and 0.4037,respectively,for training and *** the fuzzy modeling of Ra,for the first output response,the RMSE values were 0.0 and 0.1455,respectively,for training and *** values for the coefficient of determination were 1.00 and 0.9807,respectively,for training and *** results prove the superiority of fuzzy *** modeling the second output response Rz,the RMSE values were 0.0 and 0.0421,respectively,for training and testing,and the coefficient-of-determination values were 1.00 and 0.9959,respectively,for training and testing.

It is important to determine early on which patients require ICU admissions in managing COVID-19 especially when medical resources are *** in ICU admissions is associated with negative outcomes such as mortality and ***,early identification of patients with a high risk of respiratory failure can prevent complications,enhance risk stratification,and improve the outcomes of severely-ill hospitalized *** this paper,we develop a model that uses the characteristics and information collected at the time of patients’admissions and during their early period of hospitalization to accurately predict whether they will need ICU *** use the data explained and organized in a window-based manner by the Sírio-Libanês hospital team(published on Kaggle).Preprocessing is applied,including imputation,cleaning,and feature *** the cleaning process,we remove zero-variance,redundant,and/or highly correlated(measured by the Pearson correlation coefficient)*** use Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)with early stopping as a predictor in our developed *** run the experiment in four stages starting from the features of Window 1 in Stage 1 and then incrementally add the features of Windows 2–4 in Stages 2–4 *** achieve AUCs of 0.73,0.92,0.95,and 0.97 in those four stages.

Many recent studies are concerned with low cost,easy to handle and alternative renewable energy as a feasible solution for the upcoming crisis of energy *** are unicellular entities the can only depend on CO_(2),water and solar power to cover their nutritional *** current study is concerned with using algal cells in a polymeric hydrogel,as a cheap source of energy for electricity *** vulgaris has been proved to be a promising algal species for electricity generation,as compared with Micractinium *** hydrogel has been used for the immobilization of both algal species in order to protect them from the adverse surrounding conditions in addition to its ability to slowly release the required water molecules according to *** these conditions,*** showed the ability to generate 60 mV compared with 15 mV generated by *** electron micrographs showed nano-threads that bind the *** cells to each other,indicating the ability of algae to create nanowires that facilitate the electron transfer among algal cells and from cells to the nearest ***,we would expect an increase in the produced potential with simultaneous amendment of environmentally polluted water,such as sewage or waste *** of FTIR and raman spectroscopy proved the presence of the characteristic groups of PVA hydrogel and proved the proper integration of the algal cells inside the hydrogel cavities.
