The association of acute pancreatitis with ulcerative colitis [UC] has been described in the literature. It is usually induced by drugs, but sometimes it may be idiopathic. This association remains rare. We report the case of a patient who was treated in our department. Medical observation: Mr. ka, a 60-year-old man, was admitted in our unit for management of acute epigastric. The clinical examination at the admission was normal. After eliminating a cardiac or surgical cause, the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis was made on the basis of the presence of a serum lipase up to 5 times the normal level and pain intensity. An abdominal scanner tomography was performed for the assessment of the pancreatitis. It has shown a pancreatitis stage C associated with a thick rectosigmoidien that was discovered incidentally. Symptomatology was enriched 10 days after by the occurrence of rectal bleeding. A lower endoscopy was performed after the improvement of the pancreatitis and had shown an ulcerative colitis on pancolitis which was confirmed by biopsy. In order to search other causes of this pancreatitis, other tests were made [a biliary IRM, endoscopic ultrasonography, autoimmune tests] and the results were negative. We concluded an idiopathic pancreatitis. The ulcerative colitis was classified as moderate and the patient was put on oral corticosteroids with degression. The evolution was marked by a clinical and biological improvement of pancreatitis and colitis. Conclusion: The association of idiopathic pancreatitis with ulcerative colitis is rare. The case of our patient is the first case reported in our series with 400 cases of ulcerative colitis diagnosed in our service.

Introduction: The purpose of cardiac rehabilitation is to improve the effects of aging and maintain a good quality of life for older individuals. This study aims to assess how cardiac rehabilitation affects the autonomy and quality of life of older adults. Patients and Method: This was a longitudinal, descriptive and comparative before-and-after cardiovascular rehabilitation study conducted over a two-year period from January 2019 to December 2021. This study was conducted at four cardiac rehabilitation units in Dakar: the Aristide Le Dantec Hospital (HALD), National Dalal Jamm Hospital, and the General Idrissa Pouye Hospital (HOGIP). We compared the degree of autonomy, dependence and quality of life of subjects aged over 65 before and after the cardiac rehabilitation program using the katz index, the Lowton index and the SF12 quality-of-life questionnaire. Results: Over a two-year period, a total of 345 patients had benefited from a complete cardiovascular rehabilitation program in the four cardiovascular rehabilitation units in Dakar, and 86 patients, or 24.92% of the population, were at least 65 years old. The patients were predominantly male (sex ratio M/F = 4.73). The mean age was 70.35 ± 4.55 years for men and 69.27 ± 4.59 years for women. The main pathology motivating cardiac rehabilitation was ischemic heart disease, which was found in 73 patients (84.88%). Initial assessment revealed exertional dyspnea in 35 patients (40.69%), followed by residual exertional angina in 21 patients (4.41%). Mean functional capacity increased from 5.81 ± 2.38 Mets in pre-cardiac rehabilitation to 8.68 ± 2.28 Mets in post-cardiac rehabilitation (p < 0.001). The mean distance covered in the 6-minute walk test increased from 330.42 ± 170.50 m in pre-cardiac rehabilitation to 524 ± 98.54 m in post-cardiac rehabilitation (p = 0.119). The Lowton dependency index in pre-cardiac rehabilitation was 44.18% versus 36.04% in post-cardiac rehabilitation (p = 0.0156). The mental quality of

Factors Prognosis of Ebola Virus Disease at the Wonkifong Ebola Treatment Center, Coyah, Guinea

Background: The Ebola Virus Epidemic epidemic in Guinea was marked by its rapid spread in the capital, forcing the authorities to build several Ebola treatment centers including Wonkifong (Coyah), Conakry. Objective: To evaluate the case fatality rate of Ebola Virus Disease in this center and to identify associated factors. Patients and Method: There is a prospective study at wonkifong Ebola treatment center from January 1st, 2014 to April 30th, 2015. All patients diagnosed with an Ebola Virus Disease from January 1st, 2014 to April 30th, 2015 were enrolled in this study. kaplan-Meier curves and multivariate regression model were used to analyze factors associated with death. Results: 216 patients were included, the mean age was 30.52 ± 17 years and 53.2% were female. The average time between admission to the Ebola treatment center and the onset of signs was 5.13 ± 3.8 days. The average period of stay in the Ebola Treatment Center was 12.64 ± 11.31 days and duration median of death after admission in Wonkifong ETC was 11 days. According to the source, more than half of the patients were from Forécariah, i.e. 60.2% (n = 134). The case fatality rate was 64.4%. This rate was 72.0% in Dubréka, 65.1% in Coyah and 64.6% in Forécariah. The factors independently associated with Ebola Virus Disease death were signs of diarrhea [OR = 2.22 (1.17 - 4.20)], anorexia [OR= 0.40 (0.19 - 0.81)] and period of patients stay in ETC [OR = 0.96 (0.93 - 0.99)]. Conclusion: These results show that the fatality rate linked to the Ebola virus disease remains high. The factors independently associated with death were Diarrhea, anorexia and period between beginning of illness and date of latest news. Biological monitoring and resuscitation seem interesting for the reduction of this mortality.

Laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)-processed high-silicon steel has great advantages in freely designed electric engines,and various studies have been conducted in this ***,the analysis of both the mechanical and magnetic properties,focusing on the multiscale microstructure under as-fabricated and heat-treated conditions,which is indispensable for industrial applications,has not been *** this study,an Fe–Ni–Si sample was fabricated using the L-PBF ***,the following hot isotropic pressing(HIPing)process was employed as a post heat treatment step for the Fe–Ni–Si *** effects of HIPing on the microstructure were investigated,focusing on the metastable stable phase transformation in the Fe–Ni–Si system.X-ray diffraction results showed single-phase fccγ(Fe,Ni)in the L-PBF-processed samples before and after ***,the acicular Ni/Si-rich structure(formed in the as-fabricated L-PBF sample because of its high cooling rates)transformed to the equilibrium austenite,Ni3Si,and FeNi3 phases during *** HIP,the compressive modulus and strength increased from 11 GPa and 650 MPa to approximately 18 GPa and 900 MPa,*** magnetic properties were evaluated via a hysteresis loop,and the coercivity increased from 1.8 ka/m and to 2.9 ka/m after the HIPing process.
