Solar-driven hydrogen production from seawater attracts great interest for its emerging role in decarbonizing global energy consumption. Given the complexity of natural seawater content, photocatalytic vapor splitting offers a low-cost and safe solution, but with a very low solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency. With a focus on cutting-edge photothermal–photocatalytic device design and system integration, the recent research advances on vapor splitting from seawater, as well as industrial implementations in the past decades were reviewed. In addition, the design strategies of the key processes were reviewed, including vapor temperature and pressure control during solar thermal vapor generation from seawater, capillary-fed vaporization with salt repellent, and direct photocatalytic vapor splitting for hydrogen production. Moreover, the existing laboratory-scale and industrial-scale systems, and the integration principles and remaining challenges in the future seawater-to-hydrogen technology were discussed.

Background: The knowledge on pericardial disease has increased but the European Society of Cardiology in the last guidelines 2015 stated a section of perspective and unmet needs referring to the surgical management as one of these needs. Here, we present an institutional experience to contribute with other studies in explanation of questionable aspects about their surgical management. Methods: Among 127 cases (93 adults and 34 children) that were diagnosed as pericardial syndrome, we retrospectively analyzed 45 cases (40 adults and 5 children) operated for pericardial syndrome from May 2012 to June 2019. Echocardiogram was the main preoperative diagnostic tool. Surgical approach was selected according to each diagnosis. Postoperative clinical assessment, recurrence and mortality rate were the main determinants of outcome. Results: Regarding pericardial effusions, the mean preoperative medical treatment period was 17.7 ± 21.9 days and pericardial window through thoracotomy was the common approach (54.5%). In constrictive pericarditis, infection was the main etiology (40%), mean preoperative medical treatment period was 16 ± 8.8 days and complete pericardiectomy was the surgical procedure for most cases. Trans-sternal drainage was the standard approach for cardiac tamponade. Acral melanoma(AM)is the most common histologic subtype of melanoma in dark-skinned patients and is associated with a worse prognosis and a high mortality rate,largely due to the inconspicuous nature of early-stage lesions,which can lead to late *** of the overlapping clinical and histopathological features of AM with other forms of cutaneous melanomas,early detection of AM requires a multidisciplinary approach that integrates various diagnostic modalities,including clinical examination,dermoscopy,histopathology,molecular testing,radiological imaging,and blood *** surgery is the preferred method of treatment for AM,other therapeutic options may be employed based on the stage and underlying etiology of the *** checkpoint inhibitors,molecular targeted therapy,radiotherapy,chemotherapy,and oncolytic virotherapy represent promising advanced treatment options for *** this review,we provide an overview of the latest advancements in diagnostic and therapeutic methods for AM,highlighting the importance of early detection and the prompt,individualized management of this challenging disease.

Objective:The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of intravesical instillation of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)to treat interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome(IC/BPS).Materials and methods:Twenty PRP samples were tested in vitro for stability after exposure to urine samples with different pH.A pilot study involving 21 female patients with IC/BPS was conducted,and 6 weekly doses of autologous PRP(50 mL)were *** were followed up at the 2nd,4th,8th,and 12th weeks after terminating *** primary endpoint was the visual analog scale(VAS)for pain,and the secondary endpoints included the IC symptom index,IC problem index of the O'Leary-Sant questionnaire and global response assessment,urine culture,and *** was defined as a reduction in VAS by 30%or more compared with basal level,and adverse events were ***:The mean±SD of VAS was significantly reduced compared with basal level(4.4±2.6 vs.8.8±1.1,respectively,p=0.001).Meanwhile,80%of cases were considered successful,with a 50.1%reduction in the mean score compared with the basal *** mean±SD of IC symptom index and IC problem index significantly improved compared with the basal *** response assessment was markedly,moderately,and slightly improved in 2(10%),10(50%),and 5(25%)patients,respectively,and showed no change in 3(15%).Three patients had positive urine cultures at follow-up,but 1 withdrew after 2 sessions because of a lack of ***:Repeated intravesical instillation of PRP could be considered an effective and safe approach for treating IC/BPS.

肢端黑色素瘤（AM）是深色皮肤患者中最常见的黑色素瘤组织学亚型，常伴有更差的预后和高死亡率，主要原因为早期病变的不典型特征导致诊断延误。由于AM的临床和组织病理学特征与其他形式的皮肤黑色素瘤相近，其早期检测需要综合各种诊断模式的多学科方法，包括临床检查、皮肤镜检查、组织病理学检查、分子检测、放射学成像和血液检测。虽然手术是AM的首选治疗方法，但是根据疾病的分期和潜在病因，也可以采用其他治疗方案。免疫检查点抑制剂、分子靶向治疗、放疗、化疗和溶瘤病毒治疗在AM治疗上具有应用前景。在本文中，我们概述了AM诊断和治疗方法的最新进展，强调了早期发现和及时、个性化管理在这一具有挑战性疾病诊疗上的重要性。

Additive manufacturing(AM)technologies such as fused deposition modeling(FDM)rely on the quality of manufactured products and the process ***,the dimensional accuracy and stability of any AM process is essential for ensuring that customer specifications are satisfied at the highest standard,and variations are controlled without significantly affecting the functioning of processes,machines,and product *** study aims to investigate the effects of FDM fabrication conditions on the dimensional accuracy of cylindrical *** this study,a new class of experimental design techniques for integrated second-order definitive screening design(DSD)and an artificial neural network(ANN)are proposed for designing experiments to evaluate and predict the effects of six important operating *** determining the optimum fabrication conditions to obtain better dimensional accuracies for cylindrical parts,the time consumption and number of complex experiments are reduced considerably in this *** optimum fabrication conditions generated through a second-order DSD are verified with experimental *** results indicate that the slice thickness,part print direction,and number of perimeters significantly affect the percentage of length difference,whereas the percentage of diameter difference is significantly affected by the raster-to-raster air gap,bead width,number of perimeters,and part print ***,the results demonstrate that a second-order DSD integrated with an ANN is a more attractive and promising methodology for AM applications.

This paper introduces the mathematical model of ammonia and urea reactors and suggested three methods for designing a special purpose controller. The first proposed method is Adaptive model predictive controller, the second is Adaptive Neural Network Model Predictive Control, and the third is Adaptive neuro-fuzzy sliding mode controller. These methods are applied to a multivariable nonlinear system as an ammonia–urea reactor system. The main target of these controllers is to achieve stabilization of the outlet concentration of ammonia and urea, a stable reaction rate, an increase in the conversion of carbon monoxide(CO) into carbon dioxide(CO_2) to reduce the pollution effect, and an increase in the ammonia and urea productions, keeping the NH_3/CO_2 ratio equal to 3 to reduce the unreacted CO_2 and NH_3, and the two reactors' temperature in the suitable operating ranges due to the change in reactor parameters or external disturbance. Simulation results of the three controllers are compared. Comparative analysis proves the effectiveness of the suggested Adaptive neurofuzzy sliding mode controller than the two other controllers according to external disturbance and the change of parameters. Moreover, the suggested methods when compared with other controllers in the literature show great success in overcoming the external disturbance and the change of parameters.
