In the present study,the effects of the magnetic field on the entropy generation during fluid flow and heat transfer of a Sisko-fluid over an exponentially stretching surface are *** similarity transformations are used to transfer the governing partial differential equations into a set of nonlinear-coupled ordinary differential ***-Kutta-Fehlberg method is used to solve the governing *** effects of magnetic field parameter,local slip parameterλ,generalized Biot numberγ,Sisko fluid material parameter,Eckert number Ec,Prandtl number Pr and Brinkman number Br at two values of power law index on the velocity,temperature,local entropy generation number N_(g) and Bejan number Be are ***,the tabular forms for local skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number under the effects of the physical parameters are *** current results are helpful in checking the entropy generation for *** is found that,an extra magnetic field parameter makes higher Lorentz force that suppresses the *** shear thinning fluids(ngeneration number is more for larger generalized Biot number,magnetic field parameter and Brinkman *** local skin friction coefficient increases as magnetic field parameter and material parameter are increase and it decreases as local slip parameter *** local Nusselt number decreases as magnetic field parameter,local slip parameter and Eckert number are increase,while it increases as material parameter,generalized Biot number and Prandtl number are increase.

MHD Boundary Layer Flow of a Power-Law Nanofluid Containing gyrotactic Microorganisms Over an Exponentially Stretching Surface

This study focusses on the numerical investigations of boundary layer flow for magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)and a power-law nanofluid containing gyrotactic microorganisms on an exponentially stretching surface with zero nanoparticle mass flux and convective *** nonlinear system of the governing equations is transformed and solved by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg *** impacts of the transverse magnetic field,bioconvection parameters,Lewis number,nanofluid parameters,Prandtl number and power-law index on the velocity,temperature,nanoparticle volume fraction,density of motile microorganism profiles is *** addition,the impacts of these parameters on local skin-friction coefficient,local Nusselt,local Sherwood numbers and local density number of the motile microorganisms are *** results reveal that the power law index is considered an important factor in this *** to neglecting the buoyancy force term,the bioconvection and nanofluid parameters have slight effects on the velocity *** resultant Lorentz force,from increasing the magnetic field parameter,try to decrease the velocity profiles and increase the rescaled density of motile microorganisms,temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction ***,an augmentation of power-law index drops the reduced local skin-friction and reduced Sherwood number,while it increases reduced Nusselt number and reduced local density number of motile microorganisms.

Safety and efficacy of posterior sub-Tenon＇s carboplatin injection versus intravitreal melphalan therapy in the management of retinoblastoma with secondary vitreous seeds

AIM： To evaluate the safety and efficacy of posterior sub-Tenon＇s carboplatin injection compared to intravitreal melphalan injection in the management of retinoblastoma （RB） with secondary vitreous seeds. The outcome measures were vitreous seeds regression, need for other treatment modalities to achieve ocular salvage and treatment side effects. METHODS： A prospective interventional comparative nonrandomized study included RB eyes developed secondary vitreous seeds during the period of follow up. They subdivided into two groups： study group Ⅰ where posterior sub-Tenon＇s carboplatin （20 mg/2 mL） was injected and study group Ⅱ where intravitreal melphalan （20 μg/0.1 mL） was injected. The injections repeated every 2-4wk. RESULTS： Thirty-three eyes were included in the study. Seventeen eyes （16 patients） in study group Ⅰ and 16 eyes （16 patients） in study group Ⅱ. Ten eyes （30.3%） were completely salvaged following local chemotherapies, Ocular salvage was 23.5% following posterior sub-Tenon＇s carboplatin injection versus 37.5% following intravitreal melphalan raised to 47.1% and 75% with addition of external beam radiotherapy （EBR） with no statistically significant difference between the study groups （P=0.16）. A statistically significant correlation was found between ocular salvage rate and type of vitreous seeds either dust, spheres and clouds （r=0.42, P=-0.015） and eyes harbor new solid tumor growth （r=0.35, P=0.045）. The mean and median follow up periods following local chemotherapy injections were 2.0y in the study group Ⅰand 2.37y in the study group Ⅱ. Few complications were reported： periorbital edema in all eyes and ocular motility disturbances in 13 eyes （76.5%） following posterior sub-Tenon＇s carboplatin injection. Vitreous hemorrhage developed in 2 eyes （12.5%） and localized retinopathy in 5 eyes （31.25%） following intravitreal melphalan. ~ CONCLUSION： Local chemotherapy for treatment of RB with secondary vitreous seeds is safe and can salvage 30.3% of eyes

Microbial infections cause complicated health influences along with bad economic *** the present investigation,three dominant seaweeds namely,Amphiroa anceps,Corallina officinalis and Sargassum filipendula were collected from different Egyptian sites at the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea during autumn *** extracts of the three algae were screened for their antibacterial activity against three pathogenic bacteria Salmonella typhiimurium,Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli,in addition to in vitro antiviral activity against Rotavirus(RV),and Coxsackie virus B3(CVB3)that cause severe diseases in *** extract of ***,*** and *** inhibit *** cells by 57.1%,85.7%,and 91.4%,*** highest level of concentration of the *** extract(100μg/mL)inhibits 100%of Staphylococcus aureus cells followed by *** and *** extract which inhibit 82.5%and 75%of ***,the highest concentration of *** extract inhibits *** by 80%.The extract of *** exhibited a high antiviral effect against RV infection with TI=22 and virus titers lessened by 2.75 log TCID_(50) followed by extractions of *** with TI=18.3 and virus titers reduced by 2.5 log TCID_(50).Against CVB3 infection,the extract of *** causes the highest antiviral activity with TI=15 and reduce the viral titers by 2.5 log TCID_(50),followed by extractions of *** with TI=8.8 and inhibition of virus titers by 1.75 log TCID_(50).Extract of *** displayed the lowest antiviral effects against RV and CVB3 infection with TI=2.4 and 1.4,*** obtained results clarified that the extract of three marine seaweeds maintains a potent antimicrobial activity,making them a future promising source of new antimicrobial drugs.

The edges between vertices in networks take not only the common binary values, but also the ordered values in some situations(e.g., the measurement of the relationship between people from worst to best in social networks). In this paper, the authors study the asymptotic property of the moment estimator based on the degrees of vertices in ordered networks whose edges are ordered random variables. In particular, the authors establish the uniform consistency and the asymptotic normality of the moment estimator when the number of parameters goes to infinity. Simulations and a real data example are provided to illustrate asymptotic results.

Recently,many researchers have tried to develop a robust,fast,and accurate *** algorithm is for eye-tracking and detecting pupil position in many applications such as head-mounted eye tracking,gaze-based human-computer interaction,medical applications(such as deaf and diabetes patients),and attention *** real-world conditions challenge the eye appearance,such as illumination,reflections,and *** the other hand,individual differences in eye physiology and other sources of noise,such as contact lenses or *** present work introduces a robust pupil detection algorithm with and higher accuracy than the previous attempts for real-time analytics *** proposed circular hough transform with morphing canny edge detection for Pupillometery(CHMCEP)algorithm can detect even the blurred or noisy images by using different filtering methods in the pre-processing or start phase to remove the blur and noise and finally the second filtering process before the circular Hough transform for the center fitting to make sure better *** performance of the proposed CHMCEP algorithm was tested against recent pupil detection *** and results show that the proposed CHMCEP algorithm achieved detection rates of 87.11,78.54,58,and 78 according to´Swirski,ExCuSe,Else,and labeled pupils in the wild(LPW)data sets,*** results show that the proposed approach performs better than the other pupil detection methods by a large margin by providing exact and robust pupil positions on challenging ordinary eye pictures.

Introduction Shielding of ionizing radiations,which are gamma rays,neutrons,and X-rays,can be achieved by attenuating its intensity using different *** is therefore crucial in ensuring the safety of lives and essential equipment in areas such as nuclear power plants,radiotherapy facilities,space exploration,and *** Intelligent technologies have become desirable in modeling shielding materials’attenuation behavior due to their unique *** The overview aims to present the recent application of AI technologies in modeling the radiation attenuation behavior of *** A total of 41 relevant articles were obtained using Scopus and web of science *** search was restricted to articles and conference papers published within the last two *** From the overview,it was realized that AI techniques can predict the attenuation properties of shielding materials and optimize the shield *** methods can be grouped into predictive models which are:fuzzy logic,Support Vector Regression,Neural Networks,and optimization models which include genetic algorithms,Ant Colony,and Particle Swarm *** networks are the most robust and widely used *** predictive models are used in predicting parameters such as attenuation coefficient,buildup factor,shield thickness,and radiation dose rates,whiles the optimization techniques are employed in single and multi-objective attenuator *** In the overview,the accuracies and complexities of the various AI techniques have been discussed giving insight into their *** AI techniques are easy to model compared to conventional methods and can save computational time when coupled with conventional statistical and deterministic models or employed as a standalone technique.

The Luconia Province-offshore Sarawak-is a key geological unit for understanding the distribution of hydrocarbon resources in Malaysia. Nevertheless, little effort has been made to address the palaeoenvironmental characteristics of the Tertiary carbonates in the key sector of Central *** study the sedimentology and petrography of core samples from a well in Central Luconia, for which thirteen microfacies have been identified reflecting different depositional settings. This is the first microfacies scheme elaborated for Luconian carbonates. Lithofacies and microfacies distribution are compatible with deposition in a reef complex, originating around a framework reef, within the euphotic zone. Sediments were deposited in environments of backreef, reef crest, and forereef. The fair weather wave base is marked by the presence of coralline red algae, foraminifera, decreasing degree of bioclast fragmentation and other microfacies features. As a result, a depositional-environmental model is constructed, depicting a reef complex built around a framework reef developed on the margin of an isolated platform. In addition, an innovative, preliminary time series analysis of facies, microfacies and depositional environment data reveal the existence of seasonal cycles in the stacking patterns of facies and microfacies.

The future network world will be embedded with different generations of wireless technologies,such as 3g,4g and *** the same time,the development of new devices equipped with multiple interfaces is growing rapidly in recent *** a consequence,the vertical handover protocol is developed in order to provide ubiquitous connectivity in the heterogeneous wireless ***,by using this protocol,the users have opportunities to be connected to the Internet through a variety of wireless technologies at any time and *** main challenge of this protocol is how to select the best access network in terms of Quality of Service(QoS)for *** that,many algorithms have been proposed and developed to deal with the issue in recent ***,all existing algorithms permit only the selection of one access network from the available networks during the vertical handover *** cope with this problem,in this paper we propose a new approach based on k-partite ***,we introduce k-partite graph theory to model the vertical handover ***,the selection of the best path is performed by a robust and lightweight mechanism based on cost function and Dijkstra’s *** experimental results show that the proposed approach can achieve better performance of QoS than the existing algorithms for FTP traffic and video streaming.
