Eg.ptian beach ilmenite occurs in a relatively hig. content in the naturally hig.ly concentrated superficial black sand deposits at specific beach zones in the northern parts of the Nile Delta at Rosetta. Microscopic study shows that the ilmenite occurs as fresh homog.neous black or heterog.neous multicoloured altered g.ains and exhibits three types （homog.neous, exsolved and altered） of ilmenite varieties. XRD data of ilmenite indicates their association with minor hematite and quartz, whereas leucoxene shows its association with Nb-rutUe, pseudorutile and hematite. g.ain size distribution sug.ests a very fine sand size of 〉89% and 80% and a fine sand size of 10.5% and 18.3% for fresh and altered ilmenites, respectively. The density of fresh, altered ilmenite and leucoxene concentrates varies from 2.70, 2.50 to 2.40 ton/m^3, sug.esting.a g.adual decrease from hig. g.ade fresh to leucoxene and consistent with variation in mag.etic susceptibility as a consequence of the leaching.of iron. Mass mag.etic susceptibility reveals 97.6% of ilmenite and 92% of the altered form are obtained at 0.20 and 0.48 ampere. Fresh iimenite exhibits variable TiO2 （47.18%） and Fe2O3^T （46.10%） with minor MnO, Mg. and Cr2O3 （1.22, 1.10 and 0.51%）. The altered ilmenite is hig.er in TiO2 （76.16%） and SiO2 （4.68%） and lower in Fe2O3^T （14.45%）, MnO, Mg. and Cr2O3 （0.39, 0.52 and 0.11%） compared with the fresh form. Three concentrates of ilmenites （g., g. and g.） were prepared from crude ore using.a Reading.cross belt mag.etic separator under different conditions, revealing.a g.adual increase of TiO2, SiO2, Al2O3 and CaO accompanied by a decrease of Fe2O3^T, Mg. and Cr2O3 with repetition of the separation processes. Several ore dressing.techniques were carried out to upg.ade the iimenite concentrate.

Effects of Nig.lla sativa on outcome of hepatitis C in Eg.pt

AIM: To evaluate the safety, efficacy and tolerability of Nig.lla sativa (N. sativa ) in patients with hepatitis C not elig.ble for interferon (IFN)-α. METHODS: Thirty patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, who were not elig.ble for IFN/ribavirin therapy, were included in the present study. Inclusion criteria included: patients with HCV with or without cirrhosis, who had a contraindication to IFN-α therapy, or had refused or had a financial constraint to IFN-α therapy. Exclusion criteria included: patients on IFN-α therapy, infection with hepatitis B or hepatitis Ⅰ virus, hepatocellular carcinoma, other malig.ancies, major severe illness, or treatment non-compliance. Various parameters, including.clinical parameters, complete blood count, liver function, renal function, plasma g.ucose, total antioxidant capacity (TAC), and polymerase chain reaction, were all assessed at baseline and at the end of the study. Clinical assessment included: hepato and/ or splenomeg.ly, jaundice, palmar erythema, flapping.tremors, spider naevi, lower-limb edema, and ascites. N. sativa was administered for three successive months at a dose of (450 mg.three times daily). Clinical response and incidence of adverse drug.reactions were assessed initially, periodically, and at the end of the study. RESULTS: N. sativa administration sig.ificantly improved HCV viral load (380808.7 ± 610937 vs 147028.2 ± 475225.6, P = 0.001) and TAC (1.35 ± 0.5 vs 1.612 ± 0.56, P = 0.001). After N. sativa administration, the following.laboratory parameters improved: total protein (7.1 ± 0.7 vs 7.5 ± 0.8, P = 0.001), albumin (3.5 ± 0.87 vs 3.69 ± 0.91, P = 0.008), red blood cell count (4.13 ± 0.9 vs 4.3 ± 0.9, P = 0.001), and platelet count (167.7 ± 91.2 vs 198.5 ± 103, P = 0.004). Fasting.blood g.ucose (104.03 ± 43.42 vs 92.1 ± 31.34, P = 0.001) and postprandial blood g.ucose (143.67 ± 72.56 vs 112.1 ± 42.9, P = 0.001) were sig.ificantly decreased in both diabetic and non-diabetic HCV patients. Assessment of spatial and seasonal water quality variation of Oum Er Rbia River(Morocco)using.multivariate statistical techniques

The aim of this study is to assess the spatial and temporal water quality variation and to determine the main contamination sources in the Oum Er Rbia River and its main tributary,El Abid *** water quality data were collected during.2000-2012 from fourteen sampling.stations distributed along.the *** water quality indicators used were TEMP,pH,EC,turbidity,TSS,DO,NH_(4)^(+),NH_(3)^(-),TP,BOD5,COD and *** water quality data was analyzed using.multivariate statistical methods including.Pearson's correlation,PCA,and *** results showed that in some stations the water quality parameters were over Moroccan water *** applied to compare the compositional patterns among.the analyzed water samples,identified and four factors accounting.for almost 63% of the total variation in the *** sug.ests that the variations in water compounds’concentration are mainly related to point source contamination(domestic and industrial wastewater),non-point source contamination(ag.iculture activities),as well as natural processes(weathering.of soil and rock).CA showed relatively spatial and seasonal chang.s in surface water quality,which are usually indicators of contamination with rainfalls or other ***,this study showed that the water was potentially hazardous to health of the consumers and hig.lig.ted the need to treat industrial and municipal wastewater and to encourag. sustainable ag.icultural practices to prevent adverse health *** therefore sug.est wise manag.ment of anthropog.nic activities in the catchment of Oum Er Bia River and their tributaries.

Hig.er Order Multipole Potentials and Electrostatic Screening.Effects on Cohesive Energ. and Bulk Modulus of Metallic Nanoparticles

Hig.er order rnultipole potentials and electrostatic screening.effects are introduced to incorporate the dan g.ing.bonds on the surface of a metallic nanopaticle and to modify the coulornb like potential energ. terms, respectively. The total interaction energ. function for any rnetallic nanoparticle is represented in terms of two- and three-body potentials. The two-body part is described by dipole-dipole interaction potential, and in the three-body part, triple-dipole （DDD） and dipole-dipole-quadrupole （DDQ） terrns are included. The size-dependent cohesive energ. and bulk modulus are observed to decrease with decreasing.sizes, a result which is in g.od ag.eement with the experimental values of Mo and W nanoparticles.

OBJECTIVE:To investig.te the effect of Anastatica hierochuntica ethanolic(KEE),aqueous(KAE)extracts,and their combination ag.inst CCl4-induced hepatotoxicity in ***:The HPLC analysis for KEE and KAE was quantitatively carried *** liver markers,antioxidant enzymes,and histopatholog.cal alterations were examined then total hepatoprotection potential was ***:Among.9 identified phenolic compounds(PC)in KEA,sinapic acid was the hig.est while syring.c acid was the hig.est among.21 identified PC in *** flavonoids were identified in KEE and two in KAE using.HPLC,*** administration of KEE,KAE,and KEE+KAE at 250 mg.kg.body weig.t sig.ificantly reduced aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT)levels,alkaline phosphatase(ALP),total bilirubin(TBILI),and also attenuated histopatholog.cal ***,they reduced malondialdehyde(MOD),restored reduced-g.utathione(g.H),and enhanced superoxide dismutase(SOD)***,KAE,and KEE+KAE protected the liver from CCl4-hepatotoxicity as they mainly attenuating.oxidative *** hepatoprotection was about 128.3%,114.5%,and 103.8%for KEE,KAE,and KEE+KAE,***:Biochemical observations,supplemented by histopatholog.cal examination revealed that AH affords extract-depending.protection ag.inst CCl4-hepatotoxicity.

A Novel Siamese Network for Few/Zero-Shot Handwritten Character Recog.ition Tasks

Mag.etoresistivity studies for BiPb-2223 phase added by BaSnO3 nanoparticles

Co-precipitation method and conventional solid-state reaction technique were used to synthesize BaSnO3 nanoparticles and (BaSnO3)x/Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ (0≤x≤ 1.50w t％) samples,respectively.X-ray powder diffraction (XRD),scanning.electron microscopy (SEM),and electrical resistivity data were used to characterize BiPb-2223 phase added by BaSnO3 *** relative volume fraction and superconducting.transition temperature Tc of BiPb-2223 phase were enhanced by increasing.BaSnO3 addition up to 0.50 wt％.These parameters were decreased with further increase of *** resistive transition broadening.under different applied DC mag.etic fields (0.29-4.40kg. was analyzed throug. thermally activated flux creep (TAFC) model and Ambeg.okar-Halperin (AH) *** of the derived flux pinning.energ.
