Designing high-gain observers(HGOs)for the state estimation of an electric vehicle’s electrohydraulic brake(EHB)system is *** type of observer is applicable to model nonlinearities and constant feature ***,they are very sensitive to measurement noise,which is unavoidable in *** first novelty of this study is that it compensates for the measurement noise using a filtered high-gain observer(FHGO)to ensure EHB state *** proposed FHGO provides an estimate of the master cylinder pressure,motor current,and rotor speed from measurements of the rotor *** second novelty is the design of an extremum-seeking(ES)optimization loop to adjust the FHGO gains *** performance of the developed FHGO with ES-based online gain optimization was highlighted in the presence of model uncertainties and output measurement noise using a Matlab/Simulink *** superiority of the FHGO(even with a fixed gain)over a standard high gain observer(SHGO)was also demonstrated.

Bio-based polyurethanes(PUs)have been occurred a large attention *** was found to be an alternative to the petrochemical based materials to the fact of their weak environmental influence,availability,good price and *** addition,the nature shows several bio-derived compounds as raw materials for the synthesis of polyols,including the vegetable oils,polyphenol,terpene,and other bio-renewable *** the aim to develop a new family of biobased polyurethanes(PUs)via vegetable oils,the elaboration of new Jojoba-based PUs was performed by catalyst-free polycondensation reaction of a synthesized Jojoba diol with various diisocyanates such us toluene diisocyanate(TDI)and isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI).All the compounds were characterized by FTIR and NMR spectroscopies,and their properties were determined by gel permeation chromatography,differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric *** obtained results show renewable vegetable oils-based PUs materials can be preparing using a new environmentally ways and giving various good properties performances.

Prazosin（PRZ） and levonorgestrel（LNG） are widely used as an anti-disease drugs due to their biological activity in the human body. The frequent detection of these compounds in water samples requires alternative technologies for the removal of both compounds. After electrochemical degradation of PRZ and LNG, the parent compounds could be completely removed after treatment, but the identification and characterization of by-products are necessary as well. In this study, the effects of NaCl concentration and applied voltage were investigated during the electrochemical degradation process. The results revealed that the increase of NaCl concentration and applied voltage could promote the generation of hypochlorite OCl-and then enhance the degradation of PRZ and LNG. After initial study, 6 V and 0.2 g NaCl were selected for further experiments（96% and 99% removal of PRZ and LNG after 40 min, respectively）. Energy consumption was also evaluated and calculated for PRZ and LNG at 3, 6 and 8 V. Solid phase extraction（SPE） method plays an important role in enhancing the detection limit of by-products. Furthermore, characterization and identification of chlorinated and non-chlorinated by-products were conducted using an accurate liquid chromatography-time of flight/mass spectrometry LC-TOF/MS instrument. The monitoring of products during the electrochemical degradation process was performed at6 V and 0.2 g NaCl in a 50 m L solution. The results indicated that two chlorinated products were formed during the electrochemical process. The toxicity of by-products toward E. coli bacteria was investigated at 37°C and 20 hr incubation time.

Noninvasive assessment of hepatic fibrosis in Egyptian patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infection

AIM: To evaluate the accuracy of specific biochemical markers for the assessment of hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. METHODS: One hundred and fifty-four patients with chronic HCV infection were included in this study; 124 patients were non-cirrhotic, and 30 were cirrhotic. The following measurements were obtained in all patients: serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), albumin, total bilirubin, prothrombin time and concentration, complete blood count, hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), HCVAb, HCV-RNA by quantitative polymerase chain reaction, abdominal ultrasound and ultrasonic-guided liver biopsy. The following ratios, scores and indices were calculated and compared with the results of the histopathological examination: AST/ALT ratio (AAR), age platelet index (API), AST to platelet ratio index (APRI), cirrhosis discriminating score (CDS), Pohl score, G teborg University Cirrhosis Index (GUCI). RESULTS: AAR, APRI, API and GUCI demonstrated good diagnostic accuracy of liver cirrhosis (80.5%, 79.2%, 76.6% and 80.5%, respectively); P values were: 0.05). In addition, we found significant correlations for the AAR, APRI, API, GUCI and Pohl score between the non-cirrhotic (F0, F1, F2, F3) and cirrhotic (F4) groups (P values: 0.05). CONCLUSION: The use of AAR, APRI, API, GUCI and Pohl score measurements may decrease the need

The demand for duck meat, duck eggs, and associated products is increasing each year. Classic and modern selection programs have been applied to enhance the economic traits of ducks to satisfy the requirements of consumers and enhance the incomes of producers. The nutritional requirements of unselected ducks may not be adequate, however, to fulfill the potential productivity performance of modern birds, including both meat-type and egg-type ducks. In particular, an imbalanced diet is associated with low productive performance and signs of nutritional deficiency（if insufficient nutrients are supplied）, as well as with high feed costs and manure problems that reflect flock health and welfare（if excessive nutrients are supplied）. Thus, the main aim of this review is to summarize the results of previous studies that estimated the nutrient requirements of meat-type and egg-type ducks in order to evaluate current knowledge and to identify further issues that need to be addressed. In addition,the results obtained in previous studies are compared in order to understand how to lower commercial feed costs,fulfill the genetic potential of selected ducks, protect the environment from pollution, and satisfy the welfare and health needs of ducks.

Background and Aims:Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis(SBP)is a serious complication of liver cirrhosis and a prognostic model to predict it is *** study was designed to test the ability of different laboratory tests and the new scoring system by Wehmeyer and colleagues(consisting of age,C-reactive protein(CRP)and platelet count)to predict ***:Three-hundred patients admitted to the National Liver Institute,University of Menoufia,Egypt(2015-2016)with liver cirrhosis and ascites were included in our *** was diagnosed if ascetic neutrophil count was≥250/μL with no sign of secondary ***:The patient population had age range of 29-81 years old,was 60%men and showed a majority(91.7%)with primary cause of liver disease being hepatitis *** univariate analysis,associations with age,total bilirubin,aspartate aminotransferase level,creatinine level,international normalized ratio,model for endstage liver disease score,total leucocytic count,platelet count and CRP level were *** multivariate analysis,independent predictors were age,platelet count and CRP level(p=0.004,0.013 and<0.001,respectively).CRP at a cut-off point≥13.5 mg/L could predict SBP(sensitivity of 86.4%and specificity of 66.0%).Wehmeyer's SBP scoring system was predictive(p<0.001);only 4%of patients with 0 score developed SBP(CRP cut-off of 30 mg/L),while 92.8%with score of 3 or 4 developed *** using our modified Wehmeyer score with CRP cut-off value of 13.5 mg/L,no patient with 0 score developed ***:Age,CRP level and platelet count are independent predictors for SBP and a scoring system including them could easily predict the *** diagnosis could be excluded in patients with 0 score,using CRP cut-off value of 13.5 mg/L.

Comparative study on yields and quality parameters of argan oils extracted by conventional and green extraction techniques

Argan oil is most frequently sold as pure oil,which can be directly applied topically due to its cosmetological proprieties or ingested in order to provide several health ***'s also commonly mixed into a number of cosmetic products like shampoos,soaps and *** this study we aimed to improve the argan oil extraction yield and quality parameters by comparing the effects of different extraction *** kernel oils were extracted using four methods:mechanical cold press,Soxhlet extraction with n-hexane,supercritical fluid extraction(SFE),and enzyme assisted extraction with three different enzyme solutions cellulase(cellulast),pectinase(Pectinex)and a mixture of carbohydrase enzymes(Viscozyme®).The quality parameters was evaluated by determining the acid,peroxide and iodine values aswell as the extinction coefficients K_(232) and K_(270) as measures of conjugated dienes and trienes,*** results showed that the highest yield(66.37%±3.3%)was obtained by enzyme assisted extraction using the carbohydrases enzymes mixture(Viscozyme®),followed by Soxhlet extraction(59.5%±3.1%)and pectinase extraction(52.03%±3.55%).All argan oils samples obtained by the different methods showed a good oxidation stability,with acid,peroxide and iodine values lower than 0.8 mg/g,15 meq/kg and 110 g/100 g according to the official argan oil norm,*** results of argan oils quality parameters demonstrated that the enzyme extracted argan oils showed low oxidation,with the following quality parameters:acid values(0.4-0.6 mg/g),iodine values(95-100 g/100 g),dienes(K_(232)<2),trienes(K_(270)<0.35),and peroxide values(<1.5 meq/kg).The results proved that the enzyme assisted extraction method can be applied to improve the argan oil yield without affecting the oil *** enzyme extraction method may be a great alternative to solvent and cold press extractions for this eco-friendly processing approach.

Cellulose nanocrystal(CNC)is a biomaterial derived from plant lignocellulosic components,widely applied in various industrial ***,with the growth of awareness in developing green nanomaterial,the explored Washingtonia fibre could be alternative biomass for obtaining CNC *** the present work,different acid concentrations of 5%,15%,and 25%hydrochloric solutions were employed to produce CNCs from Washingtonia *** the chemical treatments,the yield of the CNC product was successfully retained at 21.6%-25.1%.Individually separated and needle-shaped CNC particles could be observed under the microscopic viewing with the increased acid *** elemental analysis,a relatively pure cellulose compartment was produced for all CNC *** zeta potential values between-10 to-16 mV proved that each nanoparticle sample possessed dispersion ability within an aqueous ***,the degree of crystallinity and the thermal behavior of CNCs were enhanced with the increased acidic ***,the isolated CNCs(with 15%)from Washingtonia fibre lead a CNC with the highest aspect ratio(30).This parameter is so important that these structures show empowering points of view as nanomaterials for reinforced polymer composites,and it could be a reliable nano-filler for the composite fabrication process in the future.

Worldwide, more than one million people die each year from hepatitis C virus(HCV) related diseases, and over 300 million people are chronically infected with hepatitis B or C. Egypt used to be on the top of the countries with heavy HCV burden. Some countries are making advances in elimination of HCV, yet multiple factors preventing progress; remain for the majority. These factors include lack of global funding sources for treatment, late diagnosis, poor data, and inadequate screening. Treatment of HCV in Egypt has become one of the top national priorities since 2007. Egypt started a national treatment program intending to provide cure for Egyptian HCV-infected patients. Mass HCV treatment program had started using Pegylated interferon and ribavirin between 2007 and 2014. Yet, with the development of highly-effective direct acting antivirals(DAAs) for HCV, elimination of viral hepatitis has become a real possibility. The Egyptian National Committee for the Control of Viral Hepatitis did its best to provide Egyptian HCV patients with DAAs. Egypt adopted a strategy that represents a model of care that could help other countries with high HCV prevalence rate in their battle against HCV. This review covers the effects of HCV management in Egyptian real life settings and the outcome of different treatment protocols. Also, it deals with the current and future strategies for HCV prevention and screening as well as the challenges facing HCV elimination and the prospect of future eradication of HCV.

Metamaterial Antenna is a special class of antennas that uses metamaterial to enhance their *** size affects the quality factor and the radiation loss of the *** antennas can overcome the limitation of bandwidth for small *** learning(ML)model is recently applied to predict antenna *** can be used as an alternative approach to the trial-and-error process of finding proper parameters of the simulated *** accuracy of the prediction depends mainly on the selected *** models combine two or more base models to produce a better-enhanced *** this paper,a weighted average ensemble model is proposed to predict the bandwidth of the Metamaterial *** base models are used namely:Multilayer Perceptron(MLP)and Support Vector Machines(SVM).To calculate the weights for each model,an optimization algorithm is used to find the optimal weights of the *** Group-Based Cooperative Optimizer(DGCO)is employed to search for optimal weight for the base *** proposed model is compared with three based models and the average ensemble *** results show that the proposed model is better than other models and can predict antenna bandwidth efficiently.
