Contribution of Anti-p63 Antibodies in the Interpretation of Benign Label Prostatic Biopsies

Introduction: Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men. The diagnosis is most often based on the prostate biopsies’ analysis and on histological criteria recognizable on standard coloring. In some cases, the use of immunohistochemistry is important. Objectives: This paper aims to specify the p63 phenotypic profile of lesions diagnosed benign, with minimal suspect foci, difficult to interpret, HGPIN (high grade intraepithelial neoplasia) and LGPIN (low-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia) and evaluate the manual technique of p63 immunohistochemistry. Patients and Method: This was a retrospective, descriptive study of prostate biopsies recorded in the PAC service of the HALD from January 1st, 2018 to December 31st, 2018. It was completed by a manual immunohistochemical study of the blocks enrolled from November 19th to December 4th, 2020 in the PAC department of the HPD. The studied parameters were: registry number, age, clinical stage, prostate volume, PSA level, microscopic appearance and p63 immunohistochemical profile. Results: Our study included 60 prostate biopsies. The ages of our patients varied from 45 to 77 years, with an average of 64.2 years and a standard deviation of 6.2. The majority of patients were at clinical stage cT2b (33%) with a prostate volume varying between 33.15 and 169.4 cc. The minimum value of PSA in our series is 5 ng/ml, the maximum being 100 ng/ml with an average level of 24.1 ng/ml and a standard deviation of 21.2. Our series included 50 adenomyomatous hyperplasias, 7 adenomyomatous hyperplasias associated with chronic prostatitis, 2 HGPIN and 1 LGPIN. After re-reading we found 5 discordant cases, which corresponded to minimal suspect foci (kappa = 0.5098). The p63 marking was informative in 53 cases, i.e. 88%, and non-informative in 7 cases, i.e. 12%. Among the uninformative markings, 2 were due to lack of tissue adhesion to the slides. Intraductal Prostatic Carcinoma: epidemiological and Anatomopathological Aspects in Dakar

Introduction: Intraductal carcinoma is often associated with high-grade, high-stage adenocarcinoma. Its frequency is variable and it is considered a poor prognostic factor. In our context, when prostatic carcinoma is diagnosed, pathologists do not always report the presence of this anatomopathological entity. We therefore conducted a study to determine the epidemiological and anatomopathological profile of patients with this lesion in Dakar. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study covering a 1-year period from January to December 2022. It focused on cases of intraductal carcinoma diagnosed among prostatic carcinomas collected in the anatomopathology laboratories of Hôpital Général Idrissa Pouye (HOGIP) and Hôpital Militaire de Ouakam (HMO). It was based on archives of anatomopathological reports, blocks and slides. A total of 200 cases of prostatic carcinoma were collated and reviewed to identify those presenting with intraductal carcinoma according to the diagnostic criteria of Guo and epstein. Results: 87 cases of intraductal carcinoma were found, representing 43.5% of prostatic carcinomas. The mean age was 71 years. Patients in their seventh decade were the most represented, i.e. 42.5%. The majority of samples examined were biopsies (72.4%). The mean PSA level was 965.91 ng/ml, with extremes ranging from 0.03 to 10,000 ng/ml. Histologically, 96.5% of cases (N = 84) were invasive prostatic carcinoma. Gleason score 8 (4 + 4) was the most common, accounting for 42.53% (N = 37). On average, the study found four (04) foci of intraductal carcinoma per specimen, with extremes ranging from 1 to 30. Dense cribriform architecture accounted for 78.16%, loose cribriform for 11.5%, solid for 8.04% and micropapillary for 2.3%. Six cases (6.9%) showed foci of comedonecrosis. ear Cholesteatoma Surgery in South Sahara: Our experience in Bamako

In Mali, cholesteatoma surgery remains a challenge due to the limited number of otological practitioners, and the low socio-economic level of patients reflecting the difficulties in performing CT or MRI for post-operative follow-up. We therefore initiated this work with the objective of analyzing, through a broad bibliographic review, the clinical, paraclinical, topographical, therapeutic and progressive aspects of a series of ear cholesteatoma. Materials and Method: This was a retrospective and prospective, descriptive study that took place in the eNT and head and neck surgery department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital over 36 months from November 2020 to October 2023. These were patients admitted to the department for chronic cholestematous otitis media. Result: In total, we collected 34 files of patients admitted for cholesteatoma. This represented 9% of cases compared to all otological surgeries carried out during the same period, i.e. 362 cases. The average age of our patients was 35.31 years, with extremes ranging from 7 years to 80 years, there were 24 men and 10 women, i.e. a M/F ratio of 2.4. The average time to diagnosis was 7 years. The main functional signs were dominated by chronic fetid purulent otorrhea associated with hypoacusis in 94.6% of cases. One case of meningeal complication and three cases of cerebral empyema were reported. Clinically, a postero-superior and marginal tympanic perforation was observed in 53%, a retraction pocket in 5.9%, the sentinel polyp in 9%, and a non-marginal tympanic perforation in 32%. Pure-tone audiometry performed preoperatively for all patients showed conductive hearing loss in 83%. In 82% of cases we created a recess with the creation of a mini box. An ossiculoplasty was performed immediately with fragments of cartilage. The postoperative course found the disappearance of otorrhea (88.23%), the persistence of otorrhea in one case, two cases of facial paralysis, and one case of tinnitus. We did not identify

Introduction and Significance: Burn injury (BI) is a considerable health issue which is responsible for around 300,000 deaths and affecting about 11 million people every year worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of BIs array from 112 to 518 per 100,000 per year. The appropriate awareness of performing first aid could facilitate to improve the outcomes of burns. Purpose and Objectives: To appraise the community that acknowledges burns, first aid, and associated factors among the community population in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia. The paper aims to identify limitations to encourage additional research and persuade legislators to develop improved burn-injury care recommendations and training programs. Materials and Methods: An observational-based sample survey was conducted among the people who live in Jazan City aging 13 years or more, during April 5 to May 5, 2023. Data collection was done by a validated online self-administrated questionnaire sent randomly to community members in different parts of Jazan City via social media platforms. Collected data were coded and cleaned by an excel program, and finally exported on SPSS 26.0 software. The variables were analyzed using descriptive statistics like frequencies and percentages. Also, the Chi-square test was used to investigate the relation between different variables, with a significance value of P Results: This study included 243 participants (about 62%) among them were mostly male participants (151) having a university degree. The majority of participants 75% did not take any form of BFA training in the past. This study shows that 69.9% of the participants have inadequate awareness, despite 72% having a constructive attitude towards burn first aid. Previous burn-related first aid training was significantly associated with participants’ knowledge of BFA at a p-value less than 0.05. On 2D approximations for dissolution problems in Hele-Shaw cells

In this paper, we study the dissolution problems occurring in laterally large 3D systems with very small dimensions along the third coordinate, such as fractures or Hele-Shaw cells. On the basis of the scale separation assumption, we apply upscaling to the 3D pore-scale model using the volume averaging method to develop 2D averaged equations. The influence of the choice of momentum equations on the accuracy of the 2D Hele-Shaw model is discussed, and we show that the results obtained using Darcy-Brinkman equations are better than those obtained using Darcy’s law, because of the consideration of the viscous boundary layer. The validity and accuracy of the resulting 2D model are assessed based on comparisons with full 3D solutions for problems corresponding to the existence of geometrical 3D features to which a simple averaging procedure along a line(i.e., the height of the gap) perpendicular to the 2D plane cannot be applied, such as the dissolution of pillars. The results show that when Péclet and Reynolds numbers exceed certain limits, 3D effects must be considered. Moreover, natural convection effects are important when the Rayleigh number is large.

This paper addresses the potential use of Sugar Cane Bagasse Ash(SCBA)as a pozzolanic material for partial cement replacement in concrete *** mortars containing SCBA having five different particle size distributions at a replacement rate of 20%by weight were used to study the chemical and physical pozzolanic properties of *** durability of SCBA replaced mortars was also *** with 0%retained on sieve No.325 was used to replace 20%by weight of cement and create mortar specimens that were subjected to sulfuric acid attack of varying concentrations(1%–3%by weight of water).The tested samples were observed to check visual distortion,mass loss,and compressive strength loss at 1,7,14,28,and 56 d of acidic exposure,and the results were compared to those for the control sample,that was lime water cured,at the same *** SCBA sets were found to meet the requirements for pozzolan class N specified by ASTM C *** containing SCBA with 0%or 15%retention produced better compressive strength than the control mortars after 28 ***,X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the SCBA had favorable chemical properties for a pozzolanic ***,SCBA replaced samples at all ages showed improved resistance against acidic attack relative to that of the control *** deterioration was seen for 3%concentrated *** study’s findings demonstrated that SCBA with an appropriate fineness could be used as a pozzolanic material,consistently with ASTM C 618.
