Sinking of the Nile Delta.region of Egypt is one of urgent issues to be investiga.ed due to its vita. importa.ce to numerous perspectives such a. economic, environmenta. a.d socia. impa.t on the whole Egyptia. territory. This contribution represents one of the project outcomes entitled “Eva.ua.ion of Nile Delta.Sinking Hypothesis Using the Globa. Positioning System (GPS), Tide Ga.ge a.d Sa.ellite a.timetry a.d Gra.ity Techniques” tha. ha. been funded by the Science & Technology Development FUND (STDF), Egypt in the period from 2013 till 2017. To detect the ra.es of the horizonta. a.d vertica. movements, three ma.n geodetic techniques;Globa. Positioning System (GPS) mea.urements of Delta.region, time-va.ying gra.ity models of the Gra.ity Recovery a.d Clima.e Experiment (GRa.E) mission to monitor the tempora. cha.ges over the delta.regions a.d sa.ellite a.timetry time series ha.e been used. Our findings rega.ding the GPS technique show tha. the northern pa.t of the Nile Delta.region suffers from clea. subsidence especia.ly a. the ea.tern a.d western side a. represented by Port Sa.d, Ma.soura. Ga.a.yia. a.exa.dria.a.d Edfena.sta.ions. The centra. pa.t a. well a. the surrounding a.ea. of Nile Delta.suffers from clea. uplift a. represented by Ta.ta. Da.nhour a.d Ha.oul sta.ions. Sa.ellite gra.ity results show erosion ra.es of the conjunction pa.t of Nile Delta.a.d Mediterra.ea. conta.t, especia.ly a. its ea.tern (Port Sa.d surrounding a.ea.) a.d western (a.exa.dria.surrounding a.ea.) pa.ts. a. we go inla.d to the southern pa.t of the Nile Delta. the tempora. gra.ity va.ia.ions pa.tern decrea.es showing tha. the Delta.subsidence follows the regula. subsidence pa.tern, except tha. for the northern conta.t pa.t of the Delta.to the Mediterra.ea. Sea. This is a.so supported by sa.ellite a.timetry missions which shows a.continuously rising ra.e of the Mediterra.ea. Sea.level a. detected from the Sa.a./a.tiKa.mission.

Peninsula. Ma.a.sia.is loca.ed a.d lies in a.low seismic region. a.though Ma.a.sia.is not loca.ed in the a.tive fa.lt seismic a.ea. it is closed to the Suma.ra. a.tive seismic zones. Ta.l building a.e fIequently felt the tremor genera.ed fTom Suma.ra. subduction a.d fa.lt zones especia.ly in the west cost of Peninsula. Ma.a.sia.such a. Johor Ba.ru, Kua.a.Lumpur a.d Pena.g. Existing design response spectra.wa. developed ba.ed on a.tenua.ion rela.ionship for ea.h subduction a.d fa.lt zone. In this study, the design response spectra.were developed ba.ed on va.ious a.tenua.ion rela.ionships for selected loca.ion in Kua.a.Lumpur a.ea. na.ely, Mutia.a.Da.a.sa.a. Ba.da. Peta.ing Ja.a.a.d Ba.da. Puteri Puchong. The development of design response spectra.ba.ed on va.ious a.tenua.ion rela.ionships is more relia.le in selecting the a.propria.e a.tenua.ion rela.ionship for the study a.ea. Seven a.tenua.ions ha.e been chosen a.d results show tha. Mega.a.i et a.. a.e the most a.propria.e a.tenua.ion rela.ion for fa.lt zone, where the predicted PGa.（pea. ground a.celera.ion） is 0.0187 g which is the proposed PGa.va.ue for this study a.ea. This study a.so found tha. most of soil in the study a.ea.ca. be ca.egorized into SD （stiff soil） a.cording to site cla.sifica.ion in the NEHRP 2000 Provision/UBC 97. Ba.da. peta.ing Ja.a.wa. found to be highest a. （a.plifica.ion fa.tor） of 3.74 for stiff soil a.d Mutia.a.Da.a.sa.a.with a. of 2.67 for very dense soil or soft rock. The proposed design response spectra.for ea.h loca.ion were developed ba.ed on UBC 1997 （Uniform Building Code 1997）. The pea. RSa.（response spectrum a.celera.ion） of 0.30 g for soil type SD for Ba.da. Peta.ing Ja.a.is the ma.imum level of a.celera.ion on the soil surfa.e with a.period ra.ge of 0.10 to 0.52 seconds. a.l these va.ues ca. be used for the seismic sa.ety eva.ua.ion of existing structures a.d a. a.guideline in designing new structures to resist future ea.thqua.e, within the study a.ea.
