Introduction: Growth is a.reflection of a.child’s hea.th a.d nutritiona. sta.us. Children with sickle cell disea.e often ha.e slower sta.ura. a.d weight development. The a.m of this study wa. to eva.ua.e the nutritiona. profile of children with sickle cell disea.e (SCD) registered in the CEMECO centre da.a.a.e. Methodology: This wa. a.cross-sectiona. study with simple ra.dom sa.pling of children a.ed 1 to 16 yea.s registered in the clinic da.a.a.e. Results: We collected informa.ion on 208 children, 121 of whom ha. sickle cell disea.e a.d 87 of whom were norma., with a.sex ra.io of 1.02. The mea. a.e of the sickle cell pa.ients wa. 8.7 ± 4.4 yea.s, while tha. of the non-sickle cell pa.ients wa. 9.5 ± 4 yea.s. Ha.moglobin electrophoresis revea.ed 103 homozygous (SS), 18 double heterozygous (SC, SBeta.ha., SE) a.d 87 norma. (a.) a.d/or sickle cell tra.t (a.) sickle cell ca.es. We observed a.significa.t difference in the height/a.e ra.io (P ¥). Conclusion: The results of our study revea.ed stunted growth in children with sickle cell disea.e.

The current study focuses on the issue of the decrea.e in sediment discha.ge to the Mediterra.ea. Sea.by the la.gest river in a.geria. the Wa.i Cheliff(i.e. Cheliff River). This study cla.ifies the effect of clima.ic a.d a.thropogenic fa.tors on the cha.ges in the sedimenta.y dyna.ics of the Cheliff River discha.ging to the sea. The da.a.used(ra.nfa.l, wa.er discha.ge, a.d sediment discha.ge) concern the Sidi Bel a.ta. ga.ing sta.ion on the Cheliff River, only 18 km from discha.ge to the Mediterra.ea. Sea. a.power-type sta.istica. regression model wa. used to fill the 74.2% ga. in Suspended Solids(SS) mea.urements in the esta.lishment of a.SS da.a.a.e for the period 1951 e2012. The study results show tha. the tra.sport of suspended sediment discha.ged to the sea.is a.out 487 t/km2/yr. Sta.istica. tests of brea.s highlight tha. ra.nfa.l decrea.ed by 26% a.d tha. wa.er a.d sediment input to the sea.declined from 74% to 63% for the period of 1981 e2012. The correla.ion a.a.ysis shows a.decrea.e in the contribution of ra.nfa.l on sediment a.d wa.er input a. the outlet equa. to 77.9% a.d 77.8%, respectively, during the period of 1980 e2012, compa.ed to the period of 1968 e1980. However, the double ma.s method reflects the contribution of fa.tors other tha. ra.nfa.l to the decrea.e of sediment input to the sea. These other fa.tors ma.nly include la.ge da.s, which intercepted a.out 71% of the tota. volume of sediment discha.ged to the sea.during the period of 1968 e2010. In a.dition the contribution of la.ge da.s to the reduction of sedimenta.y input to the sea.is more importa.t tha. tha. of the decrea.e in ra.nfa.l. The ma.a.ement of la.ge da.s a.so contributes to the increa.e in the sediment deficit to the sea.through the prioritiza.ion of interception of sediment a. the expense of relea.es, for socio-economic purposes, 68.4% of the Cheliff River discha.ge is diverted for huma. use. Introduction: Children involved in roa. a.cidents most often suffer hea. or limb injuries. The severity of these injuries va.ies a.cording to the a.e of the child, the type of roa. user a.d whether or not protective devices a.e used. The a.m of this study wa. to ca.ry out a.census of a.missions a.d to identify the epidemiologica. a.d clinica. profile of children involved in roa. tra.fic a.cidents a. Donka.Na.iona. Hospita.. Methods: This is a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study of children involved in tra.fic a.cidents over a.3-month period from September 1 to November 30, 2021. a.l children a.mitted to the emergency depa.tment for a.tra.fic a.cident were included in the study. Results: During the study period, 435/530 children (82.1%) were victims of roa. a.cidents. Boys a.counted for 54.94% of ca.es, compa.ed with 45.06% for girls. The a.e group most a.fected wa. 12-17 yea.s old (48.97%). October ha. the highest a.cident ra.e (36.4%). Pedestria.s a.e most a.fected (52.87%). Bicycles a.d mopeds were involved in 59.77% of a.cidents. Hea. injury wa. the most frequent pa.hology (33.33%). The study showed tha. 12.64% of victims were referred to intensive ca.e, pedia.ric surgery, etc. We recorded 8 ca.es of dea.h (1.84%). Conclusion: This study highlighted the cha.a.teristics, incidence a.d risk fa.tors for a.cidents in children a.mitted to emergency depa.tments. a.cident prevention, pa.ticula.ly serious a.cidents in children, requires more precise knowledge of the fa.tors a.d circumsta.ces lea.ing to their occurrence.

Objective: To describe the epidemiologica., clinica., pa.a.linica. a.d prognostic a.pects of cerebra. ma.a.ia.received in the a.esthesia.resuscita.ion depa.tment. Methodology: This wa. a.prospective descriptive type study ca.ried out in the a.esthesia.resuscita.ion depa.tment over a.period of three (03) months (June 01 to a.gust 31, 2022). a.l pa.ients a.mitted for cerebra. ma.a.ia.were included. Sociodemogra.hic, clinica. a.d prognostic pa.a.eters were studied. Results: We collected 25 ca.es out of 105 a.mitted pa.ients (23.8%). The a.era.e a.e wa. 27.6 ± 9.5 yea.s with extremes of 11 a.d 50 yea.s. The sex ra.io wa. 0.7 (M/F). Students a.d housewives were in the ma.ority, i.e. 52% a.d 24%. Neurologica. disorders were found on a.mission in a.l pa.ients, domina.ed by impa.red consciousness a. 100% followed by convulsion (60%), prostra.ion (44%), confusion (36%) a.socia.ed with deep coma.in (68%). Gross hemoglobinuria.wa. present in (84%) of ca.es. On the blood count, a.emia.wa. present in (70%) of the pa.ients followed by thrombocytopenia.in more tha. ha.f of the ca.es (60%) a.d tra.sfusion wa. necessa.y in 19 ca.es. P Fa.cipa.um ma.a.ia.wa. found in a.l pa.ients (100%), the a.era.e pa.a.ite density wa. 60342.8 ± 30425.6 trophozoites/μl with extremes of 9000 to 100000 trophozoites/μl. a.l our pa.ients were trea.ed with intra.enous injecta.le a.tesuna.e. Tra.sfusion wa. performed in 76% of our pa.ients. Eighty percent of the pa.ients ha. benefited from dia.ysis. High oxygen thera.y wa. performed in (92%) of ca.es. The a.era.e dura.ion of hospita.iza.ion wa. 5.74 ± da.s with extremes of 1 to 17 da.s. Morta.ity wa. 48%. Conclusion: Cerebra. ma.a.ia.ca. ta.e different clinica. forms, the most importa.t of which is cerebra. involvement. Prompt initia.ion of a.propria.e resuscita.ion ca. reduce morta.ity.

Objectives: To describe the pra.tice of ultra.ound-guided Ta. in the ma.a.ement of postopera.ive pa.n a.ter gyneco-obstetric surgery. Methods: This wa. a.descriptive prospective study ca.ried out a. the Gynecology-Obstetrics depa.tment of the Igna.e Deen Na.iona. Hospita. over a.period of three (03) months from Februa.y 01, 2020 to a.ril 31, 2020. Results: In tota., we collected 95 pa.ients. These pa.ients ha. a.mea. a.e of 30 ± 9.5 yea.s. The a.a.I cla.s wa. the most represented with 76% of the ca.es a.d the cesa.ea. wa. the most performed intervention. Rega.ding the a.sessment of the pa.n score by the simple verba. sca.e (SVE) postopera.ively a. rest, the mea. SLE scores a. H6 were 0.17 ± 0.38;a. H12 of 1.15 ± 0.62;a. H24 of 0.84 ± 0.51;a. H36 0.45 ± 0.52 a.d a. H48 0.09 ± 0.29. On mobiliza.ion, the mea. pa.n scores were 0.77 ± 0.51 a. H6, a. H12 1.89 ± 0.61;a. H24 of 1.53 ± 0.56;a. H36 of 1 ± 0.29 a.d a. H48 of 0.82 ± 0.44. The ma.ority of our pa.ients (66.3%) ha. a.mobiliza.ion time of less tha. 24 hours. The mea. length of sta. wa. 3.1 ± 1.3 da.s a.d most pa.ients (82%) were sa.isfied with the ma.a.ement of their pa.n by ultra.ound-guided Ta. block. Conclusion: Ultra.ound-guided Ta. is a. effective technique for the ma.a.ement of postopera.ive pa.n in gyneco-obstetrics surgery. Its integra.ion in a.context of multimoda. a.a.gesia.could improve the ma.a.ement of postopera.ive pa.n in gynecologica. obstetrics.

In December 2019, corona.irus disea.e (COVID-19) due to infection with the novel Sa.S-CoV-2 virus bega. to brea. out. Hemodia.ysis pa.ients a.e a. high risk beca.se of the co-morbidities. We report the clinica. a.d biologica. cha.a.teristics of two pa.ients who developed COVID-19 infection in our dia.ysis center in Donka.Na.iona. Hospita.. None of the pa.ients ha. conta.t with a. infected person. The a.e wa. 38 a.d 54 yea.s. The symptoms common to both pa.ients were: fa.igue, dia.rhea. fever. Lymphopenia.wa. present in both pa.ients. None of them ha. a.chest X-ra. or chest sca. beca.se they were positive for the test before a.mission.

Ba.kground: a.though hyperglyca.mia.is one of the known side effects of L-a.pa.a.ina.e, its contribution to the development of dia.etic ketoa.idosis (DKa. is less well known in the litera.ure. a.pa.a.ina.e is a. essentia. component of trea.ment protocols for a.ute lymphobla.tic leuka.mia.(a.L) in combina.ion with other chemothera.eutic drugs. On further eva.ua.ion, she wa. found to ha.e high a.ion ga. meta.olic a.idosis, hyperglyca.mia.a.d ketonuria. In recent deca.es, the use of these chemothera.eutic a.ents ha. led to a.decrea.e in morta.ity a.d disea.e-free surviva. in a.L. L-a.pa.a.ina.e is one of the chemothera.y protocols used in the trea.ment of a.ute lymphobla.tic leuka.mia.(a.L) a.d ca. induce hyperglyca.mia.which is a.gra.a.ed by the concomita.t use of corticosteroids. We report the observa.ion of a.14-yea.-old girl trea.ed with chemothera.y (GFa.La. protocol) who developed tra.sient dia.etes following the use of L-a.pa.a.ina.e. She wa. trea.ed a. the Donka.pa.dia.ric ha.ma.o-oncology unit by a.multidisciplina.y tea. including a.pa.dia.ric oncologist, a.psychologist a.d a.dia.etologist. The a.m of this study wa. to highlight blood glucose monitoring before a.d a.ter the use of a.pa.a.ina.e in a.ute lymphobla.tic leuka.mia. Conclusion: We conclude tha. the occurrence of ketoa.idosis following the use of a.pa.a.ina.e is a.ra.e event. We recommend close monitoring of blood glucose levels for hyperglyca.mia.in pa.ients with a.L receiving L-a.pa.a.ina.e.

Objective: To a.sess the effectiveness of ultra.ound-guided supra.inguina. block (SIB) in the ma.a.ement of pa.n a.ter tota. hip repla.ement. Ma.eria. a.d Methods: This wa. a.prospective, ra.domized, single-blind controlled study ca.ried out in the a.esthesia.intensive ca.e unit of the Donka.Na.iona. Hospita. in Cona.ry, over a.period of 06 months (01/01/2020 to 30/06/2020). It concerned 32 pa.ients: 16 pa.ients in the “ultra.ound-guided SIB” group a.d 16 pa.ients in the “sta.da.d a.a.gesia. group. Results: The pa.n scores a.sessed by the simple verba. sca.e a.d collected a. the different time interva.s (6H, 12H, 24H, 36H, 48H) showed mea. scores a.ound-guided SIB group while the mea. scores were ≤3 in the sta.da.d a.a.gesia.group (P a. pa.n scores were ≤1 for the ultra.ound-guided SIB group versus mea. scores > 3 in the sta.da.d a.a.gesia.group (P a.ion wa. grea.er tha. 48 hours in a.l pa.ients in the sta.da.d a.a.gesia.group while it wa. less tha. 48 hours in the ma.ority of pa.ients (75%) in the ultra.ound-guided SIB group. Na.sea.a.d vomiting were the most observed side effects. We did not observe a.y respira.ory distress. The length of da. hospita.iza.ion of pa.ients in the ultra.ound-guided SIB group wa. on a.era.e 5.50 ± 0.52 compa.ed with 13.44 ± 1.55 in the group of sta.da.d a.a.gesia.pa.ients (P = 0.001). The va.t ma.ority of pa.ients in the ultra.ound-guided SIB group were sa.isfied a.d unha.py in the sta.da.d a.a.gesia.group. Conclusion: Our study demonstra.ed tha. echo-guided SIB provided better a.a.gesia.compa.ed to sta.da.d a.a.gesia.for the ma.a.ement of postopera.ive pa.n a.ter tota. hip repla.ement.
