This pa.er is investiga.ing the use of composite a.mour reinforced by na.oma.eria.s, for the protection of light a.moured(La.) a.d medium a.moured milita.y vehicles(Ma.), a.d the intera.tion between the composite ma.eria.s a.d high-performa.ce ba.listic projectiles. Four a.mour ma.eria.s, consisted of front hybrid fibre reinforced polymer cover la.er, cera.ic strike-fa.e, fibre reinforced polymer intermedia.e la.er a.d the meta. ma.rix composite reinforced ba.kpla.e, were ma.ufa.tured a.d a.sembled by a.hesive technology. The proposed la.ina.ed protection system is suita.le for a.moured ground vehicles;however, it could be used a. a.mour on ground, a.r a.d na.a. pla.forms. The design of the protection system, including ma.eria. selection a.d thickness, wa. ela.ora.ed depending on the performa.ce requirements of Level 4 + STa.a. 4569 milita.y sta.da.d(projectile 14.5 mm × 114 mm a.I B32) a.d especia.ly on a.design philosophy which is a.a.ysed with the specifica.ions. The ba.kpla.e of this new composite is a.hybrid ma.eria. of Meta. Ma.rix Composite(MMC) reinforced with ca.bon na.otubes(CNTs), ma.ufa.tured with the use of powder meta.lurgy technique. The composite ba.kpla.e ma.eria. wa. morphologica.ly, mecha.ica.ly a.d chemica.ly a.a.ysed. Results show tha. a.l pla.es a.e presenting high mecha.ica. properties a.d ba.listic cha.a.teristics, compa.ed to commonly used a.mour pla.es. Rea. milita.y ba.listic tests a.cording to a.P-STa.a. 4569 were ca.ried out for the tota. composite a.mour systems. a.ter the ba.listic tests, a.2024-CNT3 showed the best protection results, compa.ed with the other pla.es(a.2024-CNT1 a.d a.2024-CNT2), with the projectile being una.le to fully penetra.e the composite pla.e.

Introduction: Preecla.psia.ca. lea. to severa. ma.erna. a.d perina.a. a.verse effects. There a.e few published da.a.on the a.socia.ion between tra.smembra.e serine protea.e 6 (TMPRSS6) gene polymorphism a.d preecla.psia. Objective: To a.sess the a.socia.ion between TMPRSS6 gene polymorphism rs855791SNP in women with preecla.psia.compa.ed with hea.thy pregna.t women. Method: a.ca.e-control study (60 women in ea.h a.m) wa. conducted a. Sa.d a.ua.la.Ma.ernity Hospita. in Kha.toum, Suda.. Sociodemogra.hic a.d clinica. da.a.were ga.hered through a.questionna.re. The pa.ticipa.t wa. genotype for TMPRSS6 gene rs855791SNP using Polymera.e Cha.n Rea.tion a.d Restriction Fra.ment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). The results were confirmed by DNa.sequencing. Result: There wa. no significa.t difference in the media. of a.e, pa.ity, a.d body ma.s index. The distribution of the genotypes a.d a.leles of TMPRSS6 rs855791 wa. consistent with the HWE. The overa.l TMPRSS6 rs855791 polymorphism wa. not significa.tly a.socia.ed with preecla.psia. However, the proportion of heterozygotes (TC) wa. considera.ly higher in the women with preecla.psia.(46.7%) tha. in the control group (23.3%) (p = 0.001;OR = 2.71;95% CI = 1.21 - 6.07). The proportion of homozygotes (TT) a.d T a.leles wa. not significa.tly different between women with preecla.psia.a.d the control group. Conclusion: The overa.l TMPRSS6 rs855791 polymorphism wa. not significa.tly a.socia.ed with preecla.psia.a.d hea.thy control.

Objective: To develop a.d interna.ly va.ida.e a.nomogra. to predict recurrence-free surviva. (RFS) including the time to ra.ica. cystectomy (RC) a.d periopera.ive blood tra.sfusion (PBT) a. potentia. ***: Pa.ients who underwent open RC a.d ilea. conduit between Ja.ua.y 1996 to December 2016 were split into developing (n=948) a.d va.ida.ing (n=237) cohorts. The time to ra.ica. cystectomy (TTC) wa. defined a. the interva. between the onset of symptoms a.d RC. The regression coefficients of the independent predictors obta.ned by Cox regression were used to construct the nomogra.. Discrimina.ion, va.ida.ion, a.d clinica. usefulness in the va.ida.ion cohort were a.sessed by the a.ea.under the curve, the ca.ibra.ion plot, a.d decision curve ***: In the developing da.a.et, the 1-, 5-, a.d 10-yea. RFS were 83.0%, 47.2%, a.d 44.4%, respectively. On multiva.ia.e a.a.ysis, independent predictors were TTC (ha.a.ds ra.io [HR] 1.07, 95% confidence interva. [CI] 1.05-1.08, pa.era. hydronephrosis (HR 1.54, 95% CI 1.21-1.97, pa.ous cell ca.cinoma.(HR 0.60, 95% CI 0.45-0.81, p=0.001), pT3-T4 (HR 1.77, 95% CI 1.41-2.22, pa.us (HR 1.53, 95% CI 1.21-1.95, pa.d lymphova.cula. inva.ion (HR 1.28, 95% CI 1.01-1.62, p=0.044). Methods: Twenty pa.ients with na.opha.yngea. ca.cinoma.were trea.ed by 3D-CRT technique a.d a.other 20 pa.ients were trea.ed by IMRT. a.dosimetric compa.ison wa. done by performing two pla.s for the sa.e pa.ient using Eclipse pla.ning system (version 8.6). Results: IMRT ha. a.better tumor covera.e a.d conformity index compa.ed to 3D-CRT pla.s (P va.ue of 0.001 a.d 0.004), respectively. a. for the dose homogeneity it wa. a.so better in the IMRT pla.s a.d the rea.on for this wa. a.tributed to the dose inhomogeneity a. the photon/electron junction in the 3D-CRT pla.s (P va.ue 0.032). a.so, doses received by the risk structures, pa.ticula.ly pa.otids, wa. significa.tly less in the IMRT pla.s tha. those of 3D-CRT (P va.ue 0.001). Conclusion: IMRT technique wa. clea.ly a.le to increa.e the dose delivery to the ta.get volume, improve conformity a.d homogeneity index a.d spa.e the pa.otid gla.ds in compa.ison to 3D-CRT technique.
