Modified chitosans with 3,4-di-hydroxy benzoyl groups （CS-DHBA） and 3,4,5-tri-hydroxy benzoyl groups （CS- THBA） were synthesized and their nanoparticles were prepared via ionic crosslinking by tripolyphosphate （TPP）. The chemical structure and degree of substitution （DS） of di- and tri-hydroxy benzoyl chitosans are determined by FTIR and IH- NMR spectroscopy. The morphology of particles, size distribution and zeta potential of nanoparticles were studied using transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and dynamic light scattering （DLS）, respectively. The mean diameters of particles of CS-DHBA and CS-THBA nanoparticles were 144 nm and 112 nm, respectively. It was found that the particles size decreased slightly with decreasing the degree of substitution and increasing degree of deacetylation （DD）, due to increasing of ionic crosslinking of ammonium ions and polyanions of tripolyphosphate. The TEM photographs of CS-DHBA show that these particles are spherical in shape, but the particles of CS-THBA show some aggregation. In addition, the solubility and the mechanical properties of the prepared modified chitosans and their nanoparticles were evaluated for bio-adhesive and biomedical application. The results of solubility tests indicated that, the CS-DHBA and CS-THBA have higher solubility at pH 〉 7 comparing to CS. Also the CS-DHBA, CS-THBA and their nanoparticles showed a significant adhesive capacity and enhanced tensile strength and tensile modulus.

In this study, rheological examination of the mixture of a tubular reactor in which methyl methacrylate was polymerized has been studied. The n(flow behavior index) value of Power Law Model of mixture contained in the reactor has been determined within the span of 0.3492 to 0.9889 by curve fitting. Employing these numerical data for velocity profile, the reactor has been modeled. Moreover, the functions of the reactor have been compared in the three modes of plug, mixed and laminar flow. The results obtained in this research indicate that the polymethyl methacrylate mixture contained in the reactor is pseudo-plastic. Moreover, as the conversion grows, the velocity profile starts as a parabolic profile and approaches the plug mode; although it never reaches the plug. The other conclusions borne in this study indicate that when the reactor's radius is decreased, the conversion rate grows. However, as decreasing the radius would also reduce the productions rate, this procedure is not economical. Finally, in this modeling, the amount of conversion is equal to 56.47% at the end and according to its laboratory proportion which is 55.88%, it has reached the conclusion that the modeling duly undertaken is applicable and valid.

Evaluation of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Performance by Using ZnO/Water Nanofluids

To examine and investigate the impact of nanofluid on heat exchanger performance,including the total heat transfer,the effect of friction factor,the average Nusselt number,and the thermal efficiency,the output heat transfers of a shell and tube heat exchanger using ZnO nanoparticles suspended in water has been conducted *** governing equations were solved using finite volume techniques and CFD simulations with ANSYS/FLUENT Solver *** nanoparticles volume fractions adopted are 0.2%and 0.35%that used in numerical computations under 200 to 1400 Reynolds numbers *** increasing of temperature is approximately 13%from the bottom to the top of heat exchanger,while the maximum enhancement of Nusselt number is about 10%,19%for volume fractions 0.2%and 0.35%*** elevated values of the friction factor at the volumetric ratios of 0.2%and 0.35%are 0.25%and 0.47%*** findings demonstrate that the performance efficiency of shell and tube heat exchanger is enhanced due to the increase in Nusselt number.

Dengue is a harmful tropical disease that causes death to many ***,the dengue vaccine development is still at an early stage,and only intervention methods exist after dengue cases ***,previously,two scientific experimental field studies were conducted in producing a dengue outbreak forecasting model as an early warning ***,an Autoregressive Distributed Lag(ADL)Model was developed using three factors:the epidemiological,entomological,and environmental with an accuracy of 85%;but a higher percentage is required in minimizing the error for the model to be ***,this study aimed to develop a practical and cost-effective dengue outbreak forecasting model with at least 90%accuracy to be embedded in an early warning computer system using the Internet of Things(IoT)***-one weeks of time series data of the three factors were used in six forecasting models,which were Autoregressive Distributed Lag(ADL),Hierarchical Forecasting(Bottom-up and Optimal combination)and three Machine Learning methods:(Artificial Neural Network(ANN),Support Vector Machine(SVM)and Random Forest).Five error measures were used to evaluate the consistency performance of the models in order to ensure model *** findings indicated Random Forest outperformed the other models with an accuracy of 95%when including all three *** practically,collecting mosquito related data(the entomological factor)was very costly and time ***,it was removed from the model,and the accuracy dropped to 92%but still high enough to be of practical use,i.e.,beyond 90%.However,the practical ground operationalization of the early warning system also requires several rain gauges to be located at the dengue hot spots due to localized ***,further analysis was conducted in determining the location of the rain *** has led to the recommendation that the rain gauges should be located about 3e4 km apart at the dengue hot spots to ensure

The inhibition ability of 2-amino-5-nitrothiazole （Nitramine） against the corrosion of AISI steel 4130 in 1 mol/L HCI solution was evaluated by polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） and chronoamperometry. Polarization studies indicated that nitramine retards both the cathodic and anodic reactions through chemical adsorption and blocks the active corrosion sites. The adsorption of this compound obeyed the Temkin＇s adsorption isotherm. The inhibition efficiency was increased with inhibitor concentration as well as temperature. EIS data were analysed by equivalent circuit model shows that as the inhibitor concentration increased the charge transfer resistance of steel increased whilst double layer capacitance decreased. Kinetic and thermodynamic parameters such as activation energy, enthalpy, entropy and free energy of activation and adsorption were calculated. Atomic force microscopy and optical microscopy were used to study the steel surface with and without inhibitor.

To discuss the potential role of iridium(Ir)nanoparticles loaded under atmospheric and high pressures,we prepared a series of cata-lysts with the same active phase but different contents of 10wt%,20wt%,and 30wt%on gamma-alumina for decomposition of ***-der atmospheric pressure,the performance of the catalyst was better when 30wt%of the Ir nanoparticles was used with chelating agent that had greater selectivity of approximately 27%.The increase in the reaction rate from 175 to 220 h^(−1)at higher Ir loading(30wt%)was due to a good dispersion of high-number active phases rather than an agglomeration *** a satisfactory result of this investigation at high pressure,Ir catalysts with different weight percentages showed the same stability against crushing and activity with a characteristic velocity of approxim-ately 1300 m/s.
