横斑腹小鸮(Athene brama)是巴基斯坦旁遮普中部农业生态系统中最常见但研究匮乏的猛禽。我们通过分析吐弃块(n=498)以了解其季节性和地域性食性变化。结果显示:小型哺乳类占所有食物生物量的98.4%,而昆虫类在数量上占据绝对优势(56.4%)。在小型哺乳类食物中,鼠类(38.8%)是稳定的食物成分。而在昆虫食物中,甲虫最多(42.8%)。横斑腹小亦捕食鼩鼱类(2.3%)和鸟类(1.7%)。昆虫类食物还有蟑螂(6.4%)、臭虫(3.3%)、蝗虫(6.7%)和蚂蚁(3.2%)。小家鼠(Mus musculus)和柔毛鼠(Rattus meltada)在鼠类食物中出现频次最多。不同地区中,Hafizabad的食物多样性最高(2.07),而秋季的食物多样性最高(1.99)。

Sediment accumulation on the bed of open sewers and drains reduces hydraulic efficiency and can cause localized *** invert traps installed underneath the bed of open sewers and drains can eliminate sediment build-up by catching sediment *** three-dimensional(3D)computational studies have examined the particle trapping performance of invert traps of different shapes and depths under varied sediment and flow conditions,considering particles as *** two-dimensional and 3D numerical modeling,researchers assumed the lid geometry to be a thin line and a plane,*** this 3D numerical study,the particle trapping efficiency of a slotted irregular hexagonal invert trap fitted at the flume bottom was examined by incorporating the particle shape factor of non-spherical sewage solid particles and the thicknesses of upstream and downstream lids over the trap in the discrete phase model of the ANSYS Fluent 2020 R1 *** volume of fluid(VOF)and the realizable k-turbulence models were used to predict the velocity *** two-dimensional particle image velocimetry(PIV)was used to measure the velocity field inside the invert *** results showed that the thicknesses of upstream and downstream lids affected the velocity field and turbulent kinetic energy at all flow *** joint impact of the particle shape factor and lid thickness on the trap efficiency was *** both the lid thickness and particle shape factor were considered in the numerical modeling,trap efficiencies were underestimated,with relative errors of-8.66%to-0.65%in comparison to the experimental values of Mohsin and Kaushal(2017).They were also lower than the values predicted by Mohsin and Kaushal(2017),which showed an overall overestimation with errors of-2.3%to 17.4%.

Self-similar steady natural convection thermal boundary layer flow from a rotating vertical cone to anisotropic Darcian porous medium is investigated theoretically and numerically. The transformed non-dimensional two-point boundary value problem is reduced to a system of coupled, highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations, which are solved subject to robust surface and free stream boundary conditions with the MAPLE 17 numerical quadrature software. Validation with earlier non-rotating studies is included, and also further verification of rotating solutions is achieved with a variational finite element method （FEM）. The rotational （spin） parameter emerges as an inverse function of the Grashof number. The influence of this parameter, primary Darey number, secondary Darcy number and Prandtl number on tangential velocity and swirl velocity, temperature and heat transfer rate are studied in detail. It is found that the dimensionless tangential velocity increases whilst the dimensionless swirl velocity and temperature decrease with the swirl Darcy number, tangential Darcy number and the rotational parameters. The model finds applications in chemical engineering filtration processing, liquid coating and spinning cone distillation columns.

Electrical conductivity has been measured at different temperatures for ZrO2 doped with various molar ratios of CuO. The conductivity increases due to migration of vacancies, created by doping. The conductivity was found to increase with increase in temperature till 220℃ and thereafter decrease due to collapse of the fluorite framework. A second rise in conductivity around 500 ℃ was observed due to phase transition of ZrO2. X-ray powder diffraction, DTA and IR studies were carried out for confirming doping effect and phase transition in ZrO2.

Schirmacher Oasis and Larsemann Hills areas represent two different periglacial environments of East Antarctica. Schirmacher Oasis is characterized by a vast stretch of ice-shelf in the north and East Antarctic Ice Sheet(EAIS) to its south. Whereas, in Larsemann Hills area the northern and north-western boundary is coastal area and EAIS in the southern part,exhibiting polar lowland between the marine and continental glacial ecosystems. Physico-chemical parameters of water samples from different lakes of both of these two distinct locations are quite contrasting and have indicated influence of lithology, weathering, evaporation and precipitation. The lake water chemistry in Larsemann Hills area is mainly governed by the lithology of the area while Schirmacher lakes exhibit influence of precipitation and rock composition. All major ions of lake waters indicate balanced ionic concentrations. The atmospheric precipitation has significantly modified the ionic distributions in the lakes and channels. Carbonation is the main proton supplying geochemical reactions involved in the rock weathering and this is an important mechanism which controls the hydrochemistry. The lake water hydrochemistry differs widely not only between two distant periglacial zones but also within a short distance of a single periglacial entity, indicating influence of territorial climate over hydrochemistry.

AIM To establish the relationship of protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 2 and 22(PTPN2/22) polymorphisms and mycobacterial infections in Crohn's disease(CD). METHODS All 133 subjects' blood samples were genotyped for nine single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in PTPN2/22 using TaqMan^(?) genotyping, while the effect of the SNPs on PTPN2/22 and IFN-γ gene expression was determined using RT-PCR. Detection of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis(MAP) IS900 gene was done by nPCR after DNA extraction from the isolated leukocytes of each subjects' blood samples. T-cells isolated from the patient samples were tested for response to phytohematoagglutonin(PHA) mitogen or mycobacterial antigens by Brd U proliferation assays for T-cell activity. RESULTS Out of the nine SNPs examined, subjects with either heterozygous(TC)/minor(CC) alleles in PTPN2:rs478582 occurred in 83% of CD subjects compared to 61% healthy controls(P-values < 0.05; OR = 3.03). Subjects with either heterozygous(GA)/minor(AA) alleles in PTPN22:rs2476601 occurred in 16% of CD compared to 6% healthy controls(OR = 2.7). Gene expression in PTPN2/22 in CD subjects was significantly decreased by 2 folds compared to healthy controls(P-values < 0.05). IFN-γ expression levels were found to be significantly increased by approxiately 2 folds in subjects when either heterozygous or minor alleles in PTPN2:rs478582 and/or PTPN22:rs2476601 were found(P-values < 0.05). MAP DNA was detected in 61% of CD compared to only 8% of healthy controls(P-values < 0.05, OR = 17.52), where subjects with either heterozygous or minor alleles in PTPN2:rs478582 and/or PTPN22:rs2476601 had more MAPbacteremia presence than subjects without SNPs did. T h e average T-cell proliferation in CD treated with PHA or mycobacteria antigens was, respectively, 1.3 folds and 1.5 folds higher than healthy controls without any significant SNP. Free space optical communication (FSO) proves to be very effective and efficient technology for wireless communication. This work basically deals with the designing of FSO systems. Further, a comparative study has been made to ascertain which modulation technique proves better for communication. This paper investigates the performance of ASK and PSK modulation based FSO system by varying different FSO parameters under several conditions including haze, rain, mist and fog. Finally, simulation results are analysed and discussed.
