Among collagen members in the collagen superfamily,type XIX collagen has raised increasing interest in relation to its structural and biological *** XIX collagen is a Fibril-Associated Collagen with Interrupted Triple helices member,one main subclass of collagens in this *** collagen contains a triple helix composed of three polypeptide segments aligned in parallel and it is associated with the basement membrane zone in different *** molecular structure of type XIX collagen consists of five collagenous domains,COl1 to COl5,interrupted by six non-collagenous domains,NCI to *** most relevant domain by which this collagen exerts its biological roles is NCI domain that can be cleavage enzymatically to release matricryptins,exerting anti-tumor and anti-angiogenic effect in murine and human models of *** physiological conditions,type XIX collagen expression decreases after birth in different tissues although it is necessary to keep its basal levels,mainly in skeletal muscle and hippocampal and telencephalic interneurons in ***,in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,altered transcript expression levels show a novel biological effect of this collagen beyond its structural role in basement membranes and its anti-tumor and anti-angiogenic *** XIX collagen can exert a compensatory effect to ameliorate the disease progression under neurodegenerative conditions specific to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in transgenic SOD1 G93 A mice and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis *** novel biological role highlights its nature as prognostic biomarker of disease progression in and as promising therapeutic target,paving the way to a more precise prognosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The optimal ventilation method for patients suffering from cardiac arrest and receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)remains unclear,and the recent guidelines do not provide detailed information.[1-3]During CPR,changing thoracic pressures due to chest compressions and ventilation pressure infl uence venous return and cardiac output,respectively.[4-6]Novel mechanical ventilation modes that are synchronized to chest compressions may improve blood flow and oxygenation.[4]In this porcine trial,we investigated the feasibility of a specially designed chest compression synchronized ventilation(CCSV)mode with peak pressures limited to 40 mbar(1 mbar=0.1 kPa)and an experimental synchronized ventilation(SV)limited to 20 mbar,respectively,intended to achieve a more lung-protective ventilation pattern during *** evaluated whether the diff erent synchronized pressure levels ameliorate hemodynamics,gas exchange and pulmonary function and compared it to intermittent positive pressure ventilation(IPPV).

With the recent development of high entropy materials, an alternative approach to develop advanced functional materials with distinctive properties that show improved values compared to conventional materials has been provided. The high entropy concept was later successfully transferred to metal fluorides and high entropy fluorides(HEFs) were successfully synthesized. Owing to their high theoretical specific capacities in energy storage applications, HEFs were utilized as cathode materials for lithiumion batteries(lIBs) and their underlying storage mechanisms were investigated. Instead of a step-bystep reduction of each individual metal cation, the HEFs seem to exhibit a single-step reduction process,indicating a solid solution compound instead of merely a mixture of different metal fluorides. It was also observed that the electrochemical behavior of the HEFs depends on each individual incorporated element. Therefore, by altering the elemental composition, new materials that exhibit improved electrochemical properties can be designed. Remarkably, HEFs with seven incorporated metal elements exhibited a better cycling stability as well as a lower hysteresis compared to binary metal *** findings offer new guidelines for material design and tailoring towards high performance lIBs.

BACKGROUND:The number of lay people willing to attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)in real life is increased by effective education in basic life support(BlS).However,little is known about access of general public to BlS training across the *** study aimed to investigate availability and key features of BlS courses proposed for lay people in India,Nigeria and the United Kingdom(UK).METHODS:A Google search was done in December 2018,using English keywords relevant for community resuscitation *** courses addressing BlS and suitable for any adult layperson were included in the ***-site training courses were limited to those provided within the country's ***:A total of 53,29 and 208 eligible courses were found for India,Nigeria and the UK,*** the UK,the number of courses per 10 million population(31.5)is 79 and 21 times higher than that in India(0.4)and Nigeria(1.5).Course geography is limited to 28%states and one union territory in India,30%states and the Federal Capital Territory in *** the UK,the training is offered in all constituent countries,with the highest prevalence in *** are predominantly classroom-based,highly variable in duration,group size and instructors'*** India and Nigeria,mean cost of participation is exceeding the monthly minimum ***:In contrast to the UK,the availability and accessibility of BlS courses are critically limited in India and Nigeria,necessitating immediate interventions to optimize community CPR training and improve bystander CPR rates.

The perspective of gender on the Ebola virus using a risk management and population health framework:a scoping review

BACKGROUND Biliary microlithiasis/sludge is detected in approximately 30%of patients with idiopathic acute pancreatitis(IAP).As recurrent biliary pancreatitis can be prevented,the underlying aetiology of IAP should be *** To develop a machine learning(Ml)based decision tool for the use of endosonography(EUS)in pancreatitis patients to detect sludge and *** We retrospectively used routinely recorded clinical and laboratory parameters of 218 consecutive patients with confirmed AP admitted to our tertiary care hospital between 2015 and *** who did not receive EUS as part of the diagnostic work-up and whose pancreatitis episode could be adequately explained by other causes than biliary sludge and microlithiasis were *** trained supervised Ml classifiers using H_(2)*** automatically selecting the best suitable predictor model to predict microlithiasis/*** predictor model was further validated in two independent retrospective cohorts from two tertiary care centers(117 patients).RESUlTS Twenty-eight categorized patients’variables recorded at admission were identified to compute the predictor model with an accuracy of 0.84[95%confidence interval(CI):0.791-0.9185],positive predictive value of 0.84,and negative predictive value of 0.80 in the identification cohort(218 patients).In the validation cohort,the robustness of the prediction model was confirmed with an accuracy of 0.76(95%CI:0.673-0.8347),positive predictive value of 0.76,and negative predictive value of 0.78(117 patients).CONClUSION We present a robust and validated Ml-based predictor model consisting of routinely recorded parameters at admission that can predict biliary sludge and microlithiasis as the cause of AP.
