The use of natural killer(NK)cells is a promising and safe immunotherapeutic approach in the field of cancer ***,combination treatments are required to enhance the effector functions and therapeutic efficacy of NK *** this study,we investigated the potential of daratumumab(Dara),bortezomib,and dexamethasone(Dvd)to augment the antitumor effects of NK cells in a multiple myeloma(MM)xenograft mouse *** cells were expanded and activated using the K562-OX40 ligand and membrane-bound IL-18 and IL-21 in the presence of IL-2 and IL-15 from peripheral blood mononuclear cells from MM patients.A human MM xenograft model was established using human RPMI8226-RFP-FLuc cells in NOD/SCID IL-2Rγnull(NSG)***-bearing mice were divided into six treatment groups:no treatment,expanded NK cells(eNKs),Dara,Dara+eNKs,Dvd,and Dvd+*** treatment strongly enhanced the cytotoxicity of eNKs by upregulating expression of NK cell activation ligands,downregulating expression of NK cell inhibitory ligands,and promoting antibody-dependent cellular *** combination of eNKs with Dvd significantly prolonged mouse survival and reduced the tumor burden and serum M-protein ***,Dvd pretreatment significantly increased eNK persistence and homing to MM *** findings suggest that Dvd treatment potentiates the antimyeloma effects of NK cells expanded and activated ex vivo by modulating immune responses in MM-bearing mice.

Mechanism of Japanese encephalitis virus genotypes replacement based on human,porcine and mosquito-originated cell lines model

Objective:To examine the multiplication efficiency Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV)genotype Ⅰ(G Ⅰ) and genotype Ⅲ(GⅢ) of different cell lines which originated from human,porcine,mosquitoes in order to prove mechanism of JEV G Ⅰ replacement JEV GⅢ since it emerging in nature recent ***:The mixture of Gi and GⅢ JEV isolates was inoculated on human rhabdomyosarcoma(RD).pig kidney epithelial(PS) and Aedes albopictus C6/36 clone(C6/36) which originated from human,porcine and mosquitoes,*** assays were performed to calculate virus titer and real-time RT-PCR with GⅠand GⅢspecific primer sets to quantify the number of GⅠ and GUI RNA ***:The highest virus titer reached at the 3rd day of post infection when G Ⅰand GⅢ mixture was inoculated on RD and PS and that of C636 was at the 4^(th)*** were amplified and maintained by C6/36 cells after 10 passages whereas that by RD and PS only limited within 8 and 6 passages,respectively.GⅠ strain amplified and maintained more efficiently on C6/36 and PS but not *** GⅢ strain amplified and maintained more efficiently on ***:There is a correlation between the multiplication efficiency of GⅠ and GⅢ JEV strains when these two genotype strains co-infected on different cell lines with the predominance of GⅠstrains in C6/36 and PS and the limited detection of G 1 strains in RD cells proving a possible mechanism of shift JEV genotypes in nature recent decades since GⅠ emerging.

An updraft gasifier was employed to treat 3 kg of dried rice husk per batch with different types of gasifying agents such as air,steam/air,and air with dolomite catalyst addition at various operating *** H2 content,low heating value,and H2/CO ratio in syngas were compared to determine the most effective solution to enhance the H2 production from rice husk *** presence of dolomite in air gasification produced the highest H2 content in the product gas,up to 15.4 mol%,followed by 7.08 and 3.6 mol%when steam/air and air standalone were used as gasifying agents,*** higher low heating value of syngas 5.1 MJ/Nm3 was observed in catalytic air gasification compared to 3.6 MJ/Nm3 when steam was *** optimal operation condition was reported at an airflow rate of 3 m3/h and a catalyst mixing ratio of 15%.

Surveillance of dengue and chikungunya infection in Dong Thap,Vietnam:A 13-month study

Nurses’ Knowledge, Practice, and Confidence after the Training Program on Wound Care at the Agriculture General Hospital in Vietnam

Aims: Wound care is the basic technique in patient care which has direct effects on treatment outcome. However, the Agriculture General Hospital (AGH), Vietnam, has never organized a continuing professional development (CPD) training program based on Vietnam’s Basic Nursing Competency Standards (VNBNCS) for their nurses. this study aimed to examine the knowledge, practice, and confidence level among nurses at the AGH after 12 months of implementing a VNBNCS-based wound care training program. Methodology: this descriptive and comparative study assessed the changes in knowledge, practice, and confidence scores of 43 nurses at five clinical departments before and 12 months after the training program (April 2018 to June 2019). Data were collected using a self-administrated knowledge questionnaire with 48 items, a 13-item confidence checklist, and a 16-item skills checklist. EpiData 3.1 and SPSS 18.0 were used to enter and analyze data, respectively. Results: The mean scores of knowledge (113.70 ± 14.75 vs. 129.7 ± 19.6), and practice (63.21 ± 19.99 vs. 132.07 ± 4.31) statistically significantly increased 12 months after training (p p Conclusion: Nurses’ wound care-related knowledge, practice, and confidence have improved 12 months after training. this demonstrates the VNBNCS-based wound care training program developed by Viet Duc University Hospital is suitable for use in the AGH and has achieved its promising initial outcomes. this program should be duplicated in other health facilities.

Objective:To determine the new M-superfamily conotoxins from molluscivorous snail Conus bandanus in ***:Conus bandanus venom was fractionated and purified on HPLC system with an analytical reversed-phase C18 column in order to screen small *** primary structure of peptide was analyzed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight tandem mass spectrometry using collision-induced dissociation and confirmed by Edman’s degradation ***:Five new conotoxins were biochemically characterized from the crude venom of the mollusk-hunting cone snail Conus bandanus,which were collected at Ke Ga reef of the Nha trang Bay(Vietnam).Each conotoxin had 15 or 16 amino acid residues and shared the same characteristic cysteine framework V as–CC–C–C–CC–.They were termed as Bn3 b,Bn3 c,Bn3 d,Bn3 e and Bn3 f following the conotoxins ***:The conotoxins Bn3 b,Bn3 e,and Bn3 f are categorized in the mini-M conotoxins of the M1 branch,while conotoxins Bn3 c and Bn3 d are categorized in the mini-M conotoxins of the M2 *** homological analysis reveals that these conotoxins could serve as promising probe compounds for voltage-gated sodium channels.

Recent advancements in stem cell technology open a new door for patients suffering from diseases and disorders that have yet to be *** cell-based therapy,including human pluripotent stem cells(hPsCs)and multipotent mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs),has recently emerged as a key player in regenerative *** are defined as self-renewable cell types conferring the ability to differentiate into various cellular phenotypes of the human body,including three germ *** are multipotent progenitor cells possessing self-renewal ability(limited in vitro)and differentiation potential into mesenchymal lineages,according to the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy(ISCT).this review provides an update on recent clinical applications using either hPSCs or MSCs derived from bone marrow(BM),adipose tissue(AT),or the umbilical cord(UC)for the treatment of human diseases,including neurological disorders,pulmonary dysfunctions,metabolic/endocrine-related diseases,reproductive disorders,skin burns,and cardiovascular ***,we discuss our own clinical trial experiences on targeted therapies using MsCs in a clinical setting,and we propose and discuss the MSC tissue origin concept and how MSC origin may contribute to the role of MSCs in downstream applications,with the ultimate objective of facilitating translational research in regenerative medicine into clinical *** mechanisms discussed here support the proposed hypothesis that BM-MSCs are potentially good candidates for brain and spinal cord injury treatment,AT-MSCs are potentially good candidates for reproductive disorder treatment and skin regeneration,and UC-MsCs are potentially good candidates for pulmonary disease and acute respiratory distress svndrometreatment.

Application of Regional Ocean Modeling System for Hydrodynamics in Binh Cang-Nha trang Bay, Vietnam

Based on the data collected at the Cau Da station, the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) is applied for hydrodynamics (e.g. circulation and temperature-salinity) in Binh Cang - Nha trang Bay, Vietnam. The results present the several cases of hydrodynamic regimes in the Bay during two mainly monsoon seasons (northeast and southwest monsoons). The clearly hydrodynamic regime occurs in the bay due to the impacts of rivers and monsoon conditions. These changes could be contributed to the hydrodynamic systems and water exchanges, that support basic scientific information for sustainable development of Binh Cang - Nha trang bay.

Reproductive biology of Leiognathus splendens was studied by using the samples collected from the catches of trawl fisheries in Myeik coastal waters during January to December *** takes place throughout the year,with a peak during April-May and *** observed length at first maturity was 9.0 cm total length in males and 8.4 cm in *** mean gonadosomatic index was more prominently in females(2.5)than males(1.5).Sex ratio(1 male:1.1 females)also indicates the general dominant of females over males Fecundity varied from 6120 to 58412 *** of fecundity to fish length,fish weight and ovary weight showed that fecundity is more related to the gonad weight(r=0.9)than length(r=0.8)and weight of fish(r=0.7).
