Characteristics of bone tunnel changes after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using Ligament Advanced Reinforcement System artificial ligament

Background There are different materials used for anterior cruciate ligament （ACL） reconstruction. It has been reported that both autologous grafts and allografts used in ACL reconstruction can cause bone tunnel enlargement. This study aimed to observe the characteristics of bone tunnel changes and possible causative factors following ACL reconstruction using Ligament Advanced Reinforcement System （LARS） artificial ligament. Methods Forty-three patients underwent ACL reconstruction using LARS artificial ligament and were followed up for 3 years. X-ray and CT examinations were performed at 1,3, 6, 12, 24, and 36 months after surgery, to measure the width of tibial and femoral tunnels. Knee function was evaluated according to the Lysholm scoring system. The anterior and posterior stability of the knee was measured using the KT-1000 arthrometer. Results According to the Peyrache grading method, grade 1 femoral bone tunnel enlargement was observed in three cases six months after surgery. No grade 2 or grade 3 bone tunnel enlargement was found. The bone tunnel enlargement in the three cases was close to the articular surface with an average tunnel enlargement of （2.5＋0.3） mm. Forty cases were evaluated as grade 0. The average tibial and femoral tunnel enlargements at the last follow-up were （0.8＋0.3） and （1.1＋0.3） mm, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in bone tunnel width changes at different time points （P 〉0.05）. X-ray and CT measurements were consistent. Conclusions There was no marked bone tunnel enlargement immediately following ACL reconstruction using LARS artificial ligament. Such enlargement may, however, result from varying grafting factors involving the LARS artificial ligament or from different fixation methods.

Parameter selection for the hydroconversion of waste polyethylene plastic under mild conditions: A comprehensive evaluation

The hydrogenolysis/hydrocracking of waste polyethylene(PE) has recently been intensively studied, with the general pursuit of low-temperature reaction conditions, increased oil-phase yield, and narrower carbon chain distribution. Before this, we utilized a ball-milled ZSM-22 catalyst loaded with Ru nanoparticles(NPs), which exhibited excellent hydroconversion performance. It deconstructed PE into >80 wt.% oil products under low temperatures and short reaction times. Herein, we investigated the influence of varying temperature/pressure parameters on the degree of specific hydrocracking/internal hydrogenolysis/terminal hydrogenolysis reactions. From the comprehensive energy efficiency perspective, including stirring, reaction, and product separation, as well as taking into account the degree of product isomerization and catalyst lifespan, we analyzed the optimization of parameters. This research abandons the notion that lower temperatures are better and proposes a more comprehensive evaluation framework for low-consumption hydroconversion of PE to produce high-value products.

According to Kirchhoff's radiation law,the spectral-directional absorptivity(α)and spectral-directional emissivity(e)of an object are widely believed to be identical,which places a fundamental limit on photonic energy conversion and *** introduction of Weyl semimetals and magneto-optical(MO)materials into photonic crystals makes it possible to violate Kirchhoff's law,but most existing work only report the unequal absorptivity and emissivity spectra in a single band,which cannot meet the requirements of most practical ***,we introduce a defect layer into the structure composed of one-dimensional(1D)magnetophotonic crystal and a metal layer,which realizes dual-band nonreciprocal thermal radiation under a 3-T magnetic field with an incident angle of 60°.The realization of dual-band nonreciprocal radiation is mainly due to the Fabry-Perot(FP)resonance occurring in the defect layer and the excitation of Tamm plasmon,which is proved by calculating the magnetic field *** addition,the effects of incident angle and structural parameters on nonreciprocity are also *** is more,the number of nonreciprocal bands could be further increased by tuning the defect layer *** the defect layer thickness increases to 18.2μm,tri-band nonreciprocal thermal radiation is realized due to the enhanced number of defect modes in the photonic band gap and the FP resonance occurring in the defect ***,the effect of defect location on nonreciprocity is also *** present work provides a new way for the design of multi-band or even broad-band nonreciprocal thermal emitters.

P-and SV-wave dispersion and attenuation in saturated microcracked porous rock with aligned penny-shaped fractures

P-and SV-wave dispersion and attenuation have been extensively investigated in saturated poroelastic media with aligned ***,there are few existing models that incorporate the multiple wave attenuation mechanisms from the microscopic scale to the macroscopic ***,in this work,we developed a unified model to incorporate the wave attenuation mechanisms at different scales,which includes the microscopic squirt flow between the microcracks and pores,the mesoscopic wave-induced fluid flow between fractures and background(FB-WIFF),and the macroscopic Biot's global flow and elastic scattering(ES)from the *** Tang's modified Biot's theory and the mixed-boundary conditions,we derived the exact frequency-dependent solutions of the scattering problem for a single penny-shaped fracture with oblique incident P-and *** then developed theoretical models for a set of aligned fractures and randomly oriented fractures using the Foldy *** results indicated that microcrack squirt flow considerably influences the dispersion and attenuation of P-and SV-wave *** coupling effects of microcrack squirt flow with the FB-WIFF and ES of fractures cause much higher velocity dispersion and attenuation for P waves than for SV *** oriented fractures substantially reduce the attenuation caused by the FB-WIFF and ES,particularly for the ES attenuation of SV *** a comparison with existing models in the limiting cases and previous experimental measurements,we validated our model.

Structure regulating of metal clusters in carbonized metallic organic frameworks for high-efficient microwave absorption via tuning interaction strength between metals and ligands

Free radicals trigger the closure of open pores in lignin-derived hard carbons toward improved sodium-storage capacity

The chemical activation of various precursors is effective for creating additional closed pores in hard carbons for sodium ***,the formation mechanism of closed pores under the influence of pore-forming agents is not well ***,an effective chemical activation followed by a high-temperature self-healing strategy is employed to generate interconnected closed pores in lignin-derived hard carbon(HCs).By systematic experimental design combined with electron paramagnetic res-onance spectroscopy,it can be found that the content of free radicals in the carbon matrix influences the closure of open pores at high *** high activation temperature(>700 C)leads to a low free radical concentration,making it difficult to achieve self-healing of open pores at high *** activation at 700°C,a balance between pore making and self-healing is achieved in the final hard carbon.A large number of free radicals triggers rapid growth and aggregation of carbon microcrys-tals,blocking pre-formed open micropores and creating additional interconnected closed pores in as-obtained hard *** a result,the optimized carbon anode(LK-700-1300)delivers a high reversible capacity of 330.8 mA h g^(-1) at 0.03 A g^(-1),which is an increase of 86 mA h g^(-1) compared to the pristine lignin-derived carbon anode(L-700-1300),and exhibits a good rate performance(202.1 mA h g^(-1) at 1 A g^(-1)).This work provides a universal and effective guidance for tuning closed pores of hard carbons from otherprecursors.

Background:Enlarged retropharyngeal lymph nodes(RLNs)are very common in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)undergoing *** most suitable treatment option for enlarged RLNs depends on the pathological ***,RLN sampling is difficult and imminent in the clinic *** recently developed a novel minimally invasive technique termed endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA)for sam-pling RLN tissues sufficient for pathological or cytological ***:We enrolled 30 post-radiotherapy patients with NPC with suspected RLN metastasis detected via mag-netic resonance imaging(MRI).The EUS probe was introduced into the nasopharynx via the nostrils,and EUS was then used to scan the retropharyngeal space and locate the RLN in the anterior carotid ***-FNA was subsequently *** safety and efficacy of using EUS-FNA to sample the RLN tissues were ***:Strips of tissue were successfully sampled from all patients using *** the 30 patients,23 were confirmed to have cancer cells in the biopsied tissues via pathology or cytology examinations with 1 EUS-FNA biopsy *** seven cases without confirmed cancer cells were subsequently reanalyzed by using another EUS-FNA biopsy session,and two more cases were confirmed possessing cancer *** other five patients without con-firmed cancer cells were closely followed with MRI every month for 3 *** follow-up for 3 months,three patients were still considered cancer-free due to the presence of RLNs with stable or shrinking *** rest two patients who showed progressive disease underwent a third EUS-FNA biopsy procedure and were further confirmed to be cancer *** the whole cohort reported here,the EUS-FNA procedure was not associated with any severe ***:EUS-FNA is a safe and effective diagnostic approach for sampling tissues from the RLNs in patients with suspected recurrent NPC.

Distribution and geochemical significance of alkylbenzenes for crude oil with different depositional environments and thermal maturities

A total of 45 alkylbenzenes were detected and identified in crude oils with different depositional environments and thermal maturities from the Tarim Basin,Beibuwan Basin,and Songliao Basin using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry(GC×GCTOFMS).By analyzing the distribution characteristics of C0-C5alkylbenzenes,it is found that the content of some alkylbenzenes varies greatly in crude *** on the distribution characteristics of 1,2,4,5-tetramethylbenzene(Te MB)and 1,2,3,4-Te MB,the ratio of 1,2,4,5-Te MB to 1,2,3,4-Te MB is proposed to indicate the organic matter origin and depositional environment of ancient *** samples originated mainly from lower hydrobiont,algae,bacteria and source rocks deposited under reducing/anoxic conditions have low 1,2,4,5-/1,2,3,4-Te MB values(less than 0.6),while oil samples originated mainly from terrestrial higher plants and source rocks deposited under oxic/sub-oxic conditions have higher 1,2,4,5-/1,2,3,4-Te MB values(greater than 1.0).The significant difference of 1,2,4,5-/1,2,3,4-Te MB values is controlled by 1,2,4,5-Te MB content.1,2,4,5-Te MB content in oils derived from source rocks deposited in oxidized sedimentary environment(greater than 1.0 mg/g whole oil)is higher than that in oils from source rocks deposited in reduced sedimentary environment(less than 1.0 mg/g whole oil).1,2,4,5-/1,2,3,4-Te MB ratio might not or slightly be affected by evaporative fractionation,biodegradation and thermal maturity.1,2,4,5-/1,2,3,4-Te MB ratio and 1,2,4,5-Te MB content can be used as supplementary parameter for the identification of sedimentary environment and organic matter *** should be noted that compared to the identification of organic matter sources,the 1,2,4,5-/1,2,3,4-Te MB parameter is more effective in identifying sedimentary environments.
