Background： Double outlet right ventricle （DORV） is a group of complex congenital heart abnormalities. Preoperative pulmonary hypertension （PH） is considered an important risk factor for early death during the surgical treatment of DORV. The aim of this study was to report our experience on surgical treatment of DORV complicated by PH. Methods： From June 2004 to November 2016, 61 patients （36 males and 25 females） aged 2 weeks to 26 years （median： 0.67 years and interquartile range： 0.42-1.67 years） with DORV （two great arteries overriding at least 50%） complicated by PH underwent surgical treatment in our center. All patients were categorized according to surgical age and lesion type, respectively. Pulmonary artery systolic pressure （PASP）, pulmonary artery diastolic pressure （PADP）, and mean pulmonary artery pressure （mPAP） were measured directly before cardiopulmonary bypass （CPB） was established and after CPB was removed. An intracardiac channel procedure was performed in 37 patients, arterial switch procedure in 19 patients, Rastelli procedure in three patient, Senning procedure in one patients, and Mustard procedure in one patient. The Student＇s t-test and Chi-squared test were performed to evaluate clinical outcomes of the surgical timing and operation choice. Results： Fifty-five patients had uneventful recovery. PASP fell from 55.3 ± 11.2 mmHg to 34.7±11.6 mmHg （t = 14.05, P 〈 0.001）, PADP fell from 29.7 ± 12.5 mmHgto 18.6± 7.9 mmHg （t = 7.39,P〈 0.001）, and mPAP fell from 40.3 ± 10.6 mmHgto25.7 ± 8.3 mmHg （t= 11.85, P 〈 0.001）. Six （9.8%） patients died owing to complications including low cardiac output syndrome in two patients, respiratory failure in two, pulmonary hemorrhage in one, and sudden death in one patient. BACKGROUND： Apoptosis plays an important role in central neural diseases and trauma. B-cell lymphoma/Leukemia-2 （Bcl-2） can inhibit apoptosis in a wide variety of cells including neurons. In this experiment, by studying Bcl-2 over-expression transgenic （TG） mice subjected to spinal cord injury （SCI）, we investigated whether Bcl-2 could reduce posttraumatic neuronal apoptosis, reduce the range of damage, and improve the behavioral functional recovery after contusive ***： Nine Bcl-2 TG mice and nine control mice were subjected to SCI of moderate severity at T10, with the use of weight dropping （WD） method （impact force 2.5×3.0 g/cm）. At times up to 1 day, 7 days and 14 days after SCI, functional defi cits were evaluated with Basso, Beattie, and Bresnahan （BBB） scales, and apoptosis of neurons was investigated by using the TUNEL method. Another three control mice only underwent lamina opening, but were not subjected to SCI, to provide blank ***： The mean functional scores for the control mice （5.05 ±0.35） were lower than those for the Bcl-2 TG mice （5.45 ±0.15）, although the unpaired T-test revealed no signifi cant difference （P=0.67）. On the other hand, the number of TUNEL positive neurons and integrated option density （IOD） scores for the Bcl-2 TG mice were both signifi cantly lower than those for the control mice （P〈0.05）.CONCLUSIONS： This experiment suggests that overexpression of Bcl-2 may suppress neuronal apoptosis after SCI. Bcl-2 may be an important factor within the central nervous system that can relieve the damage after trauma.

Widespread soil acidification due to atmospheric acid deposition and agricultural fertilization may greatly accelerate soil carbonate dissolution and ***,to date,few studies have addressed these ***,we use meta-analysis and nationwide-survey datasets to investigate changes in soil inorganic carbon(SIC) stocks in *** observe an overall decrease in SIC stocks in topsoil(0-30 cm)(11.33 g C m-2yr-1) from the 1980 s to the 2010 *** SIC stocks have decreased by～8.99±2.24%(1.37±0.37 Pg C).The average SIC losses across China(0.046 Pg C yr-1) and in cropland(0.016 Pg C yr-1) account for～17.6%-24.0% of the terrestrial C sink and 57.1% of the soil organic carbon sink in cropland,*** deposition and climate change have profound influences on SIC *** estimate that～19.12%-19.47% of SIC stocks will be further lost by *** consumption of SIC may offset a large portion of global efforts aimed at ecosystem carbon sequestration,which emphasizes the importance of achieving a better understanding of the indirect coupling mechanisms of nitrogen and carbon cycling and of effective countermeasures to minimize SIC loss.

Investigation of bubbles escape behavior from low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels using 3D X-ray microscope

During the continuous casting process of high-Mn high-Al steels,various types of gases such as Ar need to escape through the top of the *** which,the behavior of bubbles traversing the liquid slag serves as a restrictive link,closely associated with viscosity and the thickness of liquid *** contrast to two-dimensional surface observation,three-dimensional(3D)analysis method can offer a more intuitive,accurate,and comprehensive ***,this study employs a 3D X-ray microscope(3D-XRM)to obtained spatial distribution and 3D morphological characteristics of residual bubbles in mold flux under different basicity of liquid slag,different temperatures,and different holding *** results indicate that as basicity of slag increases from 0.52 to 1.03,temperature increases from 1423 to 1573 K,the viscosity of slag decreases,the floating rate of bubbles *** addition,when holding time increases from 10 to 30 s,the bubbles floating distance increases,and the volume fraction and average equivalent sphere diameter of the bubbles solidified in the mold flux gradually *** one word,increasing the basicity,temperature,and holding time leading to an increase in the removal rate of bubbles especially for the *** findings of bubbles escape behavior provide valuable insights into optimizing low basicity mold flux for high-Mn high-Al steels.

The design and fabrication of high toughness electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding composite films with diminished reflection are an imperative task to solve electromagnetic pollution *** MXene/ANF(aramid nanofibers)–MoS_(2)composite films with nacre-like layered structure here are fabricated after the introduction of MoS_(2)into binary MXene/ANF composite *** introduction of MoS_(2)fulfills an impressive“kill three birds with one stone”improvement effect:lubrication toughening mechanical performance,reduction in secondary reflection pollution of electromagnetic wave,and improvement in the performance of photothermal *** the introduction of MoS_(2)into binary MXene/ANF(mass ratio of 50:50),the strain to failure and tensile strength increase from 22.1±1.7%and 105.7±6.4 MPa and to 25.8±0.7%and 167.3±9.1 MPa,*** toughness elevates from 13.0±4.1 to 26.3±0.8 MJ m^(−3)(~102.3%)*** the reflection shielding effectiveness(SE_(R))of MXene/ANF(mass ratio of 50:50)decreases~10.8%.EMI shielding effectiveness(EMI SE)elevates to 41.0 dB(8.2–12.4 GHz);After the introduction of MoS_(2)into binary MXene/ANF(mass ratio of 60:40),the strain to failure increases from 18.3±1.9%to 28.1±0.7%(~53.5%),the SE_(R)decreases~22.2%,and the corresponding EMI SE is 43.9 *** MoS_(2)also leads to a more efficient photothermal conversion performance(~45 to~55℃).Additionally,MXene/ANF–MoS_(2)composite films exhibit excellent electric heating performance,quick temperature elevation(15 s),excellent cycle stability(2,2.5,and 3 V),and long-term stability(2520 s).Combining with excellent mechanical performance with high MXene content,electric heating performance,and photothermal conversion performance,EMI shielding ternary MXene/ANF–MoS_(2)composite films could be applied in many industrial *** work broadens how to achieve a balance between mechanical properties and versatility of composites in the case of high-function fillers.

Competitive adsorption of Cd, Cu, Hg and Pb by agricultural soils of the Changjiang and Zhujiang deltas in China

Soils can often be contaminated simultaneously by more than one heavy metal. The sorption-desorption behavior of a metal in a soil will be affected by the presence of other metals. Therefore, selective retention and competitive adsorption of the soils to heavy metals can affect their availability and movement through the soils. In this study, the simultaneous competitive adsorption of four heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Hg, and Pb) on ten agricultural soils collected from the Changjiang and Zhujiang deltas, China was assessed. The results showed that the competition affected the behavior of heavy metal cations in such a way that the soils adsorbed less Cd and Hg, and more Pb and Cu with increasing total metal concentrations, regardless of the molar concen- tration applied. As the applied concentrations increased, Pb and Cu adsorption increased, while Cd and Hg adsorption decreased. The adsorption sequence most found was Pb>Cu>Hg>Cd. The maximum adsorption capacity for the heavy metal cations was calculated, and affected markedly by soil properties. The results suggest that Hg and Cd have higher mobility associated to the lower adsorption and that Pb and Cu present the opposite behavior. Significant correlations were found between the maximum adsorption capacity of the metals and pH value and exchangeable acid, suggesting that soil pH and exchangeable acid were key factors controlling the solubility and mobility of the metals in the agricultural soils.

Phosphorus accumulation and eutrophication in feed-supply freshwater fishponds

The rapid growth and intensification of freshwater fishery can cause imbalances between phosphorus （P） input in feed and its output in produce. This aquaculture can result in enriching exogenous P in fishponds and, consequently, accelerates the process of eutrophication. To assess relations among input, accumulation, release of P and as a consequence degrading water quality in terms of chlorophyll-a （Chl-a） in freshwater fishponds, fourteen fishponds with feed supply, nine fishponds without feed supply, and five nonfish ponds in Shaoxing Plain, southeast China were selected for comparing P accumulation in their waters and surface sediments. Surface sediment samples were collected from each pond to evaluate their total P, water soluble P, Olsen P, algal available P, and P fractions. Water samples were also collected from the ponds to measure concentrations of dissolved P and Chl-a. Total P in the sediments ranged from 0.88 to 1.73 g/kg in the fishponds with feed supply, that in the non-fish ponds ranged from 0.47 to 0.86 g/kg. Organic P, accounted for 23% to 60% of total P in the sediments, was an important P fraction and increased linearly with increasing organic matter. Long-term application of feeds resulted in increased P availability in the bottom sediments and degradation of water quality in the freshwater fishponds. Compared with non-fish ponds, sediments from the feed-supplied fishponds contained considerably higher Olsen P, algal available P, and water soluble P. Higher proportions of the labile P （NH4Cl-P） and potentially labile P （NaOH-IP） were also found in the sediments from the fishponds. High solubility of P in the sediments resulted in elevation of P and chlorophyll-a concentration in the pond water. The dissolved P concentration in the pond water increased in the order of non-fish ponds （12μg/L）〈 fishponds without feed supply （24 μg/L）〈 fishponds with feed supply （66 μg/L）.
