Fluorine Substitution Effect on the Material Properties in Transparent Aromatic Polyimides

The recent development of flexible display technology raised additional requirements for optical and electric properties of polyimides,accelerating the structure and property tunning of transparent *** unique electronic effect and steric hindrance effect of fluorine substitutions make fluorine-containing polyimides occupy an important position in the transparent polyimide *** this work,a series of transparent aromatic polyimides were prepared from a fixed 4,4’-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride(6FDA)and biphenyl diamines with different substitute groups at the 2,2’,6,6’-*** systematically studied the effects of pendant groups on the thermal,mechanical,optical and dielectric properties of these 6FDA-based polyimides with the aid of density function theory(DFT)*** particular,we paid special attention to the simple but compact fluoro group *** simple fluoro substitution brought the advantages of maintaining the linearity of the backbone and dense polymer chain packing,which would minimize the weakening of polyimides’inherent thermal,dimensional and mechanical *** with trifluoromethyl substituted polyimides with the best optical transparency,polyimides containing fluoro substitutes exhibited slightly decreased optical transparency,but increased thermal and dimensional stability and higher mechanical *** results could shed light on the ultimate transparent polyimide film development toward the application in extreme working condition,e.g.,the colorless polyimide substrate film for the flexible display technology.

Minilaparotomy to rectal cancer has higher overall survival rate and earlier short-term recovery

AIM： To report our experience using mini-laparotomy for the resection of rectal cancer using the total meso- rectal excision （TME） technique, METHODS： Consecutive patients with rectal cancer who underwent anal-colorectal surgery at the authors＇ hospital between March 2001 and june 2009 were included, In total, 1415 patients were included in the study, The cases were divided into two surgical proce- dure groups （traditional open laparotomy or mini-lap- arotomy）, The mini-laparotomy group was defined as having an incision length ≤ 12 cm. Every patient un- derwent the TME technique with a standard operation performed by the same clinical team. The multimodal preoperative evaluation system and postoperative fast track were used. To assess the short-term outcomes, data on the postoperative complications and recovery functions of these cases were collected and analysed. The study included a plan for patient follow-up, to ob- tain the long-term outcomes related to 5-year survival and local recurrence. RESULTS： The mini-laparotomy group had 410 pati- ents, and 1015 cases underwent traditional laparoto- my. There were no differences in baseline characteris- tics between the two surgical procedure groups. The overall 5-year survival rate was not different between the rnini-laparotorny and traditional laparotorny groups （80.6% vs 79.4%, P = 0.333）, nor was the 5-year local recurrence （1.4% vs 1.5%, P = 0.544）. However, 1-year mortality was decreased in the rnini-laparotorny group compared with the traditional laparotorny group （0% vs 4.2%, P 〈 0.0001）. Overall 1-year survival rates were 100% for Stage Ⅰ, 98.4% for Stage Ⅱ, 97.1% for Stage Ⅲ, and 86.6% for Stage Ⅳ. Local recurrence did not differ between the surgical groups at 1 or 5 years. Local recurrence at 1 year was 0.5% （2 cases） for mini-laparotorny and 0.5% （5 cases） for traditional laparotorny （P = 0.670）. The development of optical films with high transparency,high thermal resistance and low birefringence remains a challenge in the flexible display *** this work,we designed and synthesized a series of fluorinated colorless polyimides(CPIs)materials using 2,5-substituted m-phenylenediamine diamine monomers and 1,2,4,5-cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride(CHDA).We systematically studied the effects of fluorinated group substitutions on the thermal,mechanical,optical and dielectric properties of CPI *** introduction of alicyclic CHDA dianhydride affords high transparency and low yellowness,while the 2,5-substituted m-phenylenediamine diamines offer the CPIs with quite low birefringence as well as high glass transition temperatures.A particular CHDA/o3FBDA film with simple chemical structure stands out,exhibiting well-balanced overall properties.

A Deep Model for Partial Multi-label Image Classification with Curriculum-based Disambiguation

Investigation on UV-curing Reprocessable Thermosets Bearing Hindered Urea Bonds and Their Composites with Modified Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles

Dynamic interwell connectivity analysis of multi-layer waterflooding reservoirs based on an improved graph neural network

The analysis of interwell connectivity plays an important role in the formulation of oilfield development plans and the description of residual oil distribution. In fact, sandstone reservoirs in China's onshore oilfields generally have the characteristics of thin and many layers, so multi-layer joint production is usually adopted. It remains a challenge to ensure the accuracy of splitting and dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells with limited field data. The three-dimensional well pattern of multi-layer reservoir and the relationship between injection-production wells can be equivalent to a directional heterogeneous graph. In this paper, an improved graph neural network is proposed to construct an interacting process mimics the real interwell flow regularity. In detail, this method is used to split injection and production rates by combining permeability, porosity and effective thickness, and to invert the dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells by attention *** on the material balance and physical information, the overall connectivity from the injection wells,through the water injection layers to the production layers and the output of final production wells is established. Meanwhile, the change of well pattern caused by perforation, plugging and switching of wells at different times is achieved by updated graph structure in spatial and temporal ways. The effectiveness of the method is verified by a combination of reservoir numerical simulation examples and field example. The method corresponds to the actual situation of the reservoir, has wide adaptability and low cost, has good practical value, and provides a reference for adjusting the injection-production relationship of the reservoir and the development of the remaining oil.

Exploring the mechanisms of calcium carbonate deposition on various substrates with implications for effective anti-scaling material selection

The unexpected scaling phenomena have resulted in significant damages to the oil and gas industries,leading to issues such as heat exchanger failures and pipeline clogging. It is of practical and fundamental importance to understand the scaling mechanisms and develop efficient anti-scaling strategies. However,the underlying surface interaction mechanisms of scalants(e.g., calcite) with various substrates are still not fully understood. In this work, the colloidal probe atomic force microscopy(AFM) technique has been applied to directly quantify the surface forces between calcite particles and different metallic substrates,including carbon steel(CR1018), low alloy steel(4140), stainless steel(SS304) and tungsten carbide,under different water chemistries(i.e., salinity and p H). Measured force profiles revealed that the attractive van der Waals(VDW) interaction contributed to the attachment of the calcium carbonate particles on substrate surfaces, while the repulsive electric double layer(EDL) interactions could inhibit the attachment behaviors. High salinity and acidic p H conditions of aqueous solutions could weaken the EDL repulsion and promote the attachment behavior. The adhesion of calcite particles with CR1018 and4140 substrates was much stronger than that with SS304 and tungsten carbide substrates. The bulk scaling tests in aqueous solutions from an industrial oil production process showed that much more severe scaling behaviors of calcite was detected on CR1018 and 4140 than those on SS304 and tungsten carbide, which agreed with surface force measurement results. Besides, high salinity and acidic p H can significantly enhance the scaling phenomena. This work provides fundamental insights into the scaling mechanisms of calcite at the nanoscale with practical implications for the selection of suitable antiscaling materials in petroleum industries.

Numerical simulations for radon migration and exhalation behavior during measuring radon exhalation rate with closed-loop method

Accurate measurements of the radon exhalation rate help identify and evaluate radon risk regions in the *** these measurement methods,the closed-loop method is frequently ***,traditional experiments are insufficient or cannot analyze the radon migration and exhalation patterns at the gas–solid interface in the accumulation *** CFD-based technique was applied to predict the radon concentration distribution in a limited space,allowing radon accumulation and exhalation inside the chamber intuitively and *** this study,three radon exhalation rates were defined,and two structural ventilation tubes were designed for the *** consistency of the simulated results with the variation in the radon exhalation rate in a previous experiment or analytical solution was *** effects of the vent tube structure and flow rate on the radon uniformity in the chamber;permeability,insertion depth,and flow rate on the radon exhalation rate and the effective diffusion coefficient on back-diffusion were *** on the results,increasing the inser-tion depth from 1 to 5 cm decreased the effective decay constant by 19.55%,whereas the curve-fitted radon exhalation rate decreased(lower than the initial value)as the deviation from the initial value increased by approximately 7%.Increasing the effective diffusion coefficient from 2.77×10^(-7) to 7.77×10^(-6) m^(2) s^(-1) made the deviation expand from 2.14 to 15.96%.The conclusion is that an increased insertion depth helps reduce leakage in the chamber,subject to notable back-diffusion,and that the closed-loop method is reasonably used for porous media with a low effective diffusion coefficient in view of the back-diffusion *** CFD-based simulation is expected to provide guidance for the optimization of the radon exhalation rate measurement method and,thus,the accurate measurement of the radon exhalation rate.
