The complexity of a cancer, such as cell heterogeneity, and the existence of hypoxia, stromai cells and stem cells has so far prevented successful development and treatment of patients suffering from the later stages of cancers. At present, the use of conventional therapies, such as chemo/radio therapy is limited, and only therapies that are focused on utilizing the patient＇s immune response to combat against the disease appear to be the most reliable and promising. Two decades ago, cytokines were discovered to be able to activate the immune systems and mount an anti-tumour response. Then, dendritic cells were hailed as the most significant regulators of immunity and are employed in a variety of cancer management schemes. This review introduces current development in the field, focusing on combination of the components of ＇he rapidly growing fields of immunotherapy and gene transfer/therapy, providing useful and significant detailed information for readers of cellular and molecular immunology.

Carbon dots(CDs)have been widely adopted as optical materials because of their excellent luminescent ***,most of the reported synthetic methods are conducted in solvents,especially hydrothermal/solvothermal reactions,leading to intractable problems such as toxic and flammable solvents,complex and inseparable by-products,and dangerously high pressures and ***-phase synthesis of CDs in air is an effective solution to overcome the above issues,but solid reactions always result in uncontrolled growth and agglomeration of *** this study,some inorganic salts are selected as catalysts for synthesizing CDs in solid states and air,which also play as dispersants to hinder CDs *** the meantime,some aromatic derivatives containing hydroxyl and amino groups are chosen as carbon sources,ground with the optimized catalyst,and then heated together in *** production yields are affected by the reaction time and reactant ratio,while the graphitization degrees of the CDs are determined by the reaction *** IG/ID value of their Raman spectra increases from 0.59 to 0.85,and the particle size decreases from 2.5 to 1.4 nm when the synthesis temperature is increased from 200 to 280℃.The as-prepared CDs show emission peaks ranging from 366 to 606 nm,with the photoluminescence(PL)q.antum yield up to 53%.Their emission color variation mainly results from different carbon sources,which can be ascribed to the differences in the element composition,functional groups,and graphitic nitrogen content of these *** dispersing CDs of different concentrations into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and combining them with blue LEDs,cold,standard,and warm white light emitting devices(WLEDs)are prepared,with a color rendering index(CRI)up to *** the as-prepared CDs have antioxidant ability at high temperature,the as-prepared WLEDs have long lifespans,remaining the effective white luminescence after 72 h continuous work.

AT2021lfa,also known as ZTF21aayokph,was detected by the Zwicky Transient Facility on 2021 May 4,a 05:34:48 ***-up observations were conducted using a range of ground-based optical telescopes,as wel as Swift/XRT and VLA ***2021lfa is classified as an“orphan afterglow”candidate due to its rapid flux decline and its reddened color(g-r=0.17±0.14 mag).For an optical transient source without promp gamma-ray detection,one key point is to determine its burst *** we measure the burst time through fitting the initial bump feature of AT2021lfa and obtain its burst time as 2021 May 3,at 22:09:50 *** afterglowpy,we model the multi-band afterglow of AT2021lfa and find that the standard model canno reproduce the late radio observations *** that the microphysical parameters ε_(e),ε_(B)(the energy fraction given to electrons and magnetic field),andξN(the fraction of accelerated electrons)may vary with time we then model the afterglow of AT2021lfa taking into account the temporal evolution of the physical parameters ε_(e),ε^(B),and ξ_(N) and find in this case the multi-wavelength observations can be reproduced *** initial Lorentz factor of AT2021lfa can be estimated from the peak time of the early afterglow,which yields a value of about 18 suggesting that AT2021lfa should be classified as a“dirty fireball.”From the upper limit for the prompt emission energy of AT2021lfa,we obtain that the radiation efficiency is less than 0.02%,which is much smaller than that of ordinary gamma-ray bursts(GRBs).It is also interesting that the fitted values of jet angle and viewing angle are very large,θ_(c)~0.66 rad,θ_(v)~0.53 rad,which may lead to the low Lorentz factor and radiation *** compared with GRB afterglow samples,it is evident that the onset bump timescale of AT2021lfa satisfies the empirical relationships observed in GRB ***,the luminosity of AT2021lfa falls within the range of observations for GRB samples;howeve

Reducing thermal conductivity while avoiding adverse interfacial reactions during sintering is crucial for improving the thermoelectric performance of Bi_(2)Te_(3)based *** ceramic nanoparticles are good candidates for achieving this *** this study,we designed and prepared a series of p-type Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3)nanocomposites decorated with Y_(2)O_(3)ceramic nanoparticles via ball-milling dispersion and spark-plasma *** to the chemical stability of the ceramics,no traces of atomic doping or interfacial reactions were *** measurements revealed that the Y_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles distributed along the grain boundaries acted as energy-dependent carrier-filtering centers to improve the scattering parameter and Seebeck coefficient,contributing to the elevated power factor even with a decreased electrical ***,the incorporated Y_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles and various defect structures they induced effectively strengthened the phonon scattering and suppressed the lattice thermal ***,a peak figure of merit(ZT)of 1.23 at 313 K was achieved for 0.4%Y_(2)O_(3)/Bi_(0.5)Sb_(1.5)Te_(3),which is 13%higher than that of the *** addition,the Vickers hardness of the composite material was 35%higher than that of the *** study demonstrates the effectiveness of ceramic nanoparticles in synergistic ally improving the thermoelectric and mechanical properties,which may be further extended to other thermoelectric systems.

Cancer,a complex and multifactorial disease,presents a significant challenge to global *** significant advances in surgical,radiotherapeutic and immunological approaches,which have improved cancer treatment outcomes,drug therapy continues to serve as a key therapeutic ***,the clinical efficacy of drug therapy is often constrained by drug resistance and severe toxic side effects,and thus there remains a critical need to develop novel cancer *** promising strategy that has received widespread attention in recent years is drug repurposing:the identification of new applications for existing,clinically approved *** repurposing possesses several inherent advantages in the context of cancer treatment since repurposed drugs are typically cost-effective,proven to be safe,and can significantly expedite the drug development process due to their already established safety *** light of this,the present review offers a comprehensive overview of the various methods employed in drug repurposing,specifically focusing on the repurposing of drugs to treat *** describe the antitumor properties of candidate drugs,and discuss in detail how they target both the hallmarks of cancer in tumor cells and the surrounding tumor *** addition,we examine the innovative strategy of integrating drug repurposing with nanotechnology to enhance topical drug *** also emphasize the critical role that repurposed drugs can play when used as part of a combination therapy *** conclude,we outline the challenges associated with repurposing drugs and consider the future prospects of these repurposed drugs transitioning into clinical application.

Supra-permafrost groundwater(SPG)is a key factor that causes damage to highways and railways in the q.nghai-Tibet Engineering Corridor(q.EC).It is difficult to monitor SPG in the field due to their complex formation mechanisms and movement *** single-site field monitoring studies limit the spatial and temporal precision of SPG spatial *** determine the moisture content of shallow soils and the SPG distribution along the q.EC,this work employed the temperature vegetation dryness index and remote sensing models for groundwater table distribution *** accuracies of the models were validated using mea-surements obtained from different sites in the *** the permafrost zones of the q.EC,72%,22%and 6%of the SPG were located at depths of 0.5-1,1 m,***,79.4%of the area along the q.nghai-Tibet Highway(q.H)(Xidatan-Tanggula)section contained *** these sections with SPG,37.9%have an SPG table at depths of 0.5-0.8 *** study preliminarily explored the SPG distribution in the q.EC with a 30 m *** findings can help improve the spatial scale of SPG research,provide a basis for the analysis of the hydrothermal mechanisms,and serve as a guide in the assessment of operational risks and road structure designs.

In regard to unconventional oil reservoirs,the transient dual-porosity and triple-porosity models have been adopted to describe the fluid flow in the complex fracture *** has been proven to cause inaccurate production evaluations because of the absence of matrix-macrofracture *** addition,most of the existing models are solved analytically based on Laplace transform and numerical ***,an approximate analytical solution is derived directly in real-time space considering variable matrix blocks and simultaneous matrix *** simplify the derivation,the simultaneous matrix depletion is divided into two parts:one part feeding the macrofractures and the other part feeding the ***,a series of partial differential eq.ations(PDEs)describing the transient flow and boundary conditions are constructed and solved analytically by ***,a relationship between oil rate and production time in real-time space is *** new model is verified against classical analytical *** the microfracture system and matrix-macrofracture communication is neglected,the result of the new model agrees with those obtained with the dual-porosity and triple-porosity model,***,the new model also has an excellent agreement with the numerical *** model is then applied to two actual tight oil wells completed in western Canada sedimentary *** identifying the flow regime,the solution suitably matches the field production data,and the model parameters are *** these output parameters,we can accurately forecast the production and even estimate the petrophysical properties.
