Fluorescent carbon dots synthesized in solid phase and air for application in LEDs

Carbon dots(CDs)have been widely adopted as optical materials because of their excellent luminescent ***,most of the reported synthetic methods are conducted in solvents,especially hydrothermal/solvothermal reactions,leading to intractable problems such as toxic and flammable solvents,complex and inseparable by-products,and dangerously high pressures and ***-phase synthesis of CDs in air is an effective solution to overcome the above issues,but solid reactions always result in uncontrolled growth and agglomeration of *** this study,some inorganic salts are selected as catalysts for synthesizing CDs in solid states and air,which also play as dispersants to hinder CDs *** the meantime,some aromatic derivatives containing hydroxyl and amino groups are chosen as carbon sources,ground with the optimized catalyst,and then heated together in *** production yields are affected by the reaction time and reactant ratio,while the graphitization degrees of the CDs are determined by the reaction *** IG/ID value of their Raman spectra increases from 0.59 to 0.85,and the particle size decreases from 2.5 to 1.4 nm when the synthesis temperature is increased from 200 to 280℃.The as-prepared CDs show emission peaks ranging from 366 to 606 nm,with the photoluminescence(PL)quantum yield up to 53%.Their emission color variation mainly results from different carbon sources,which can be ascribed to the differences in the element composition,functional groups,and graphitic nitrogen content of these *** dispersing CDs of different concentrations into polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and combining them with blue LEDs,cold,standard,and warm white light emitting devices(WLEDs)are prepared,with a color rendering index(CRI)up to *** the as-prepared CDs have antioxidant ability at high temperature,the as-prepared WLEDs have long lifespans,remaining the effective white luminescence after 72 h continuous work.

Polyampholyte gels,which have hierarchical structures,exhibit excellent self-healing properties and have great promise for biomaterials and *** investigated the relationship between microscopic structures and macroscopic viscoelastic properties of polyampholyte gels and found three factors influencing their viscoelastic properties,including the chemical crosslinking bonds,topological entanglements controlled by monomer concentration,and the ionic *** strength plays a major role on the strength of ionic bonds.A crossover point of elastic modulus and loss modulus was observed in the dynamic frequency sweeps at low monomer concentration or low chemical crosslinking density for gels with intermediate strength of ionic *** solid-liquid transition signaled by the crossover point is a typical feature of dynamic associated gels,representing the dynamical association-dissociation of the ionic bonds and full relaxation of the topological entanglements in the gel *** the crossover point disappears when the ionic bonds are too weak or too strong to form“permanent”***,in the non-linear yielding measurement,gels with intermediate strength of the ionic bonds are ductile and yield at very large shear strain due to the self-healing properties and the dynamic association-dissociation of the ionic *** the self-healing properties disappear when the ionic bond strength is too weak or too *** work reveals the mechanism of how the dynamic association-dissociation of ionic bonds influences both the linear and non-linear viscoelastic properties of the polyampholyte gels.

AT2021lfa,also known as ZTF21aayokph,was detected by the Zwicky Transient Facility on 2021 May 4,a 05:34:48 ***-up observations were conducted using a range of ground-based optical telescopes,as wel as Swift/XRT and VLA ***2021lfa is classified as an“orphan afterglow”candidate due to its rapid flux decline and its reddened color(g-r=0.17±0.14 mag).For an optical transient source without promp gamma-ray detection,one key point is to determine its burst *** we measure the burst time through fitting the initial bump feature of AT2021lfa and obtain its burst time as 2021 May 3,at 22:09:50 *** afterglowpy,we model the multi-band afterglow of AT2021lfa and find that the standard model canno reproduce the late radio observations *** that the microphysical parameters ε_(e),ε_(B)(the energy fraction given to electrons and magnetic field),andξN(the fraction of accelerated electrons)may vary with time we then model the afterglow of AT2021lfa taking into account the temporal evolution of the physical parameters ε_(e),ε^(B),and ξ_(N) and find in this case the multi-wavelength observations can be reproduced *** initial Lorentz factor of AT2021lfa can be estimated from the peak time of the early afterglow,which yields a value of about 18 suggesting that AT2021lfa should be classified as a“dirty fireball.”From the upper limit for the prompt emission energy of AT2021lfa,we obtain that the radiation efficiency is less than 0.02%,which is much smaller than that of ordinary gamma-ray bursts(GRBs).It is also interesting that the fitted values of jet angle and viewing angle are very large,θ_(c)~0.66 rad,θ_(v)~0.53 rad,which may lead to the low Lorentz factor and radiation *** compared with GRB afterglow samples,it is evident that the onset bump timescale of AT2021lfa satisfies the empirical relationships observed in GRB ***,the luminosity of AT2021lfa falls within the range of observations for GRB samples;howeve

Polyelectrolyte(PE)gels,distinguished by their unique stimuli-responsive swelling behavior,serve as the basis of broad applications,such as artificial muscles and drug *** this work,we present a theoretical model to analyze the electrostatics and its contribution to the swelling behavior of PE gels in salt *** minimizing the free energy of PE gels,we obtain two distinct scaling regimes for the swelling ratio at equilibrium with respect to the salt *** compare our predictions for the swelling ratio with experimental measurements,which show excellent *** addition,we employ a finite element method to assess the applicability range of our theoretical model and *** anticipate that our model will also provide valuable insights into drug adsorption and release,deformation of red blood cells,4D printing and soft robotics,where the underlying mechanism of swelling remains enigmatic.

Space-borne gravitational wave(GW)detectors can detect the merger of massive black *** early warning and localization of GW events before merging can be used to inform electromagnetic telescopes and conduct multimessenger ***,this requires real-time data transmission and analysis *** geocentric orbit of the space-borne GW detector Tian Qin makes it possible to conduct real-time data *** this study,we develop a search and localization pipeline for massive black hole binaries(MBHBs)with Tian Qin under both regular and real-time data transmission *** demonstrate that,with real-time data transmission,MBHBs can be accurately localized on the *** the approaching merger,each analysis can be finished in only 40 *** an MBHB system at a distance of 1 Gpc,if we receive data every hour,then we can pinpoint its location to within less than 1 deg^(2)on the final day before the merger.

Low-permeability reservoirs are generally characterized by low porosity and low permeability. Obtaining high production using the traditional method is technologically challenging because it yields a low reservoir recovery factor. In recent years, hydraulic fracturing technology is widely applied for efficiently exploiting and developing low-permeability reservoirs using a low-viscosity fluid as a fracturing ***, the transportation of the proppant is inefficient in the low-viscosity fluid, and the proppant has a low piling-up height in fracture channels. These key challenges restrict the fluid(natural gas or oil) flow in fracture channels and their functional flow areas, reducing the profits of hydrocarbon *** study aimed to explore and develop a novel dandelion-bionic proppant by modifying the surface of the proppant and the fiber. Its structure was similar to that of dandelion seeds, and it had high transport and stacking efficiency in low-viscosity liquids compared with the traditional ***, the transportation efficiency of this newly developed proppant was investigated experimentally using six different types of fracture models(tortuous fracture model, rough fracture model,narrow fracture model, complex fracture model, large-scale single fracture model, and small-scale single fracture model). Experimental results indicated that, compared with the traditional proppant, the transportation efficiency and the packing area of the dandelion-based bionic proppant significantly improved in tap water or low-viscosity fluid. Compared with the traditional proppant, the dandelionbased bionic proppant had 0.1-4 times longer transportation length, 0.3-5 times higher piling-up height, and 2-10 times larger placement area. The newly developed proppant also had some other extraordinary features. The tortuosity of the fracture did not influence the transportation of the novel proppant. A series of 3-acyl-substituted isoindolinone derivatives were synthesized in a one-pot manner via the reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes,isocyanides,and carboxylic acids in the presence of palladium catalyst and base. The reaction employing easily available starting materials features simple operation and high efficiency. The mechanistic study showed that the reaction might undergo 1) Pd-catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of o-bromobenzaldehyde with isocyanide and the re-insertion of another molecule of isocyanide,2) addition of carboxylic acid to in situ formed ketenimine followed by a rearrangement relay to give 3,3-diacyl-substituted isoindolinone derivative. Further transformations of the obtained products through decarbonylation could also be realized.
