Relict subtropical coniferous forests in China face severe fragmentation,resulting in declining populations,and some are under significant threat from invasive alien *** the crucial importance of understanding forest dynamics,knowledge gaps persist,particularly regarding the impact of invasive plants on vulnerable natives like Keteleeria *** this study,we investigated the impact of invasive plants on the regeneration of forests dominated by ***,a subtropical relict species in southwestern *** this purpose,we characterized forest dynamics of 160 forest plots featuring *** as the primary dominant species and determined whether the presence of invasive plants was correlated with regeneration of *** identified four distinct forest types in which *** was *** found that radial growth of *** trees is faster in younger ageclasses today than it was for older trees at the same *** population structure of *** in each forest type exhibited a multimodal age-class ***,three forest types lacked established saplings younger than 10 years old,a situation attributed to the dense coverage of the invasive alien Ageratina *** invasive species resulted in a reduction of understory species ***,our analysis uncovered a significant negative correlation in phylogenetic relatedness(net relatedness index)between native and invasive alien plant species in eastern *** suggests closely related invasive species face heightened competition,hindering successful *** together,our findings indicate that successful establishment and habitat restoration of *** seedling/saplings require effective measures to control invasive plants.

Alpine treeline ecotones are highly sensitive to climate *** low temperature-determined alpine treeline is expected to shift upwards in response to global ***,little is known about how temperature interacts with other important factors to influence the distribution range of tree species within and beyond the alpine treeline ***,we used a GF-2 satellite image,along with bioclimatic and topographic variables,to develop an ensemble suitable habitat model based on the species distribution modeling algorithms in *** investigated the distribution of suitable habitats for *** under three climate change scenarios(i.e.,low(SSP126),moderate(SSP370)and extreme(SSP585)future emission trajectories)between two consecutive time periods(i.e.,current-2055,and 2055-2085).By 2055,the potential distribution range of *** will expand under all three climate *** medium and high suitable areas will decline under SSP370 and SSP585scenarios from 2055 to ***,under the three climate scenarios,the uppermost altitudes of low suitable habitat will rise to 2,329 m a.s.l.,while the altitudes of medium and high suitable habitats will fall to 2,201 and2,051 m *** 2085,*** promotes the expansion of *** distribution range in Changbai Mountain,and this expansion will be modified by precipitation as climate warming *** interaction between temperature and precipitation plays a significant role in shaping the potential distribution range of *** in the alpine treeline *** study reveals the link between environmental factors,habitat distribution,and species distribution in the alpine treeline ecotone,providing valuable insights into the impacts of climate change on high-elevation vegetation,and contributing to mountain biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

We have conducted a comprehensive investigation into the bright single pulse emission from PSR B1133+16using the Giant Metrewave Radio *** time resolution data(61μs)were obtained at a center frequency of 322 MHz with a bandwidth of 32 MHz over a continuous observation period of 7.45 hr.A total of 1082 bright pulses were sporadically detected with peak flux densities ranging from 10 to 23 times stronger than the average pulse ***,no giant pulse-like emission with a relative pulse energy larger than 10 and extremely short duration was detected,indicating that these bright pulses cannot be categorized as giant pulse *** majority of these bright pulses are concentrated in pulse phases at both the leading and trailing windows of the average pulse profile,with an occurrence ratio of approximately *** pulse energy distribution for all individual pulses can be described by a combination of two Gaussian components and a cutoff power-law with an index of α=-*** updated nulling fraction of 15.35%±0.45% was determined from the energy *** emission of individual pulses follows a log-normal distribution in peak flux density *** is imperative that regular phase drifting in bright pulse sequence is identified in both the leading and trailing components for the first *** physical mechanisms are discussed in detail to provide insights into these observations.

Binary polyantimony clusters,namely[Cu_(2)Sb_(14)]^(4–) and [Ag_(2)Sb_(14)]^(4–),containing coinage metals,were successfully synthesized and characterized,in which two homoatomic Sb73–subunits are bridged by two coinage metals in η^(4):η^(1) and η^(1):η^(1) coordination modes,***[M_(2)Sb_(14)]^(4-),two bridging Cu ions and two Sb atoms form a planar rhombic unit,which was revealed to have antiaromatic properties by theoretical *** electron structure and bonding analysis confirmed the presence of delocalized bonds in the rhombic unit and the metallophilic interaction between two formal M^(+) ions.

As the brightest gamma-ray burst ever observed,GRB 221009A provided a precious opportunity to explore spectral line *** this article,we performed a comprehensive spectroscopy analysis of GRB 221009A jointly with GECAM-C and Fermi/GBM data to search for emission and absorption *** the first time we investigated the line feature throughout this GRB including the most bright part where many instruments suffered problems,and identified prominent emission lines in multiple time *** central energy of the Gaussian emission line evolves from about 37 to 6 MeV,with a nearly constant ratio(about 10%)between the line width and central ***,we find that both the central energy and the energy flux of the emission line evolve with time as a power law decay with power law index of–1 and–2,*** suggest that the observed emission lines most likely origin from the blue-shifted electron positron pair annihilation 511 ke V *** find that a standard high latitude emission scenario cannot fully interpret the observation,thus we propose that the emission line comes from some dense clumps with electron positron pairs traveling together with the *** this scenario,we can use the emission line to directly,for the first time,measure the bulk lorentz factor of the jet(Γ)and reveal its time evolution(i.e.,Γ~t^(-1))during the prompt ***,we find that the flux of the annihilation line in the co-moving frame keeps *** discoveries of the spectral line features shed new and important lights on the physics of GRB and relativistic jet.

Multichromophoric architectures with wellorganized chromophoric arrangements are of vital importance to gain insights into interchromophoric ***,we report a novel heteroleptic self-assembly strategy and construct three achiral and one chiral sandwich-like heterochromophore complexes(Zn_(4)l^(G)l^(A-C)_(2)and Zn_(4)l_(G)l^(D)_(2)).Possible dynamic products,including homoleptic oligomers and isomers,are eliminated,producing achiral complexes with exceptional *** are observed in chiral complexes due to the flexible geometry of *** aligned chromophore arrangements with precise spacing and orientations are evidenced by single-crystal X-ray *** distinct segments in the ligands lead to different interchromophoric ***,energy transfer and tunable emission,including white-light emission,are achieved for Zn_(4)l^(G)l^(A)_(2)and Zn_(4)l^(G)l^(B)_(2).In addition,chirality transfer is observed for Zn_(4)l_(G)l^(D)_(2),due to conformational restriction from chiral lD,leading to chiral rotational conformations of tetraphenylethylene moiety in lG.

The hexaploid sweetpotato(lpomoea batatas)is one of the most important root crops ***,its genetic origin remains controversial,and its domestication history remains *** this study,we used a range of genetic evidence and a newly developed haplotype-based phylogenetic analysis to identify two probable progenitors of *** diploid progenitor was likely closely related to lpomoea ae-quatoriensis and contributed the B,subgenome,IbT-DNA2,and the lineage 1 type of chloroplast genome to *** tetraploid progenitor of sweetpotato was most likely *** 4x,which donated the B2 subgenome,IbT-DNA1,and the lineage 2 type of chloroplast *** most likely originated from reciprocal crosses between the diploid and tetraploid progenitors,followed by a subsequent whole-genome *** addition,we detected biased gene exchanges between the subgenomes;the rate of B,to B2 subgenome conversions was nearly three times higher than that of B2 to B subgenome *** analyses revealed that genes involved in storage root formation,maintenance of genome stabil-ity,biotic resistance,sugar transport,and potassium uptake were selected during the speciation and domestication of *** study sheds light on the evolution of sweetpotato and paves the way forimprovementofthiscrop.

Owing to the unique structure,anode-free lithium metal batteries(AFlMBs)have higher energy density and lower production cost than traditional lithium metal batteries(lMBs)or lithium-ion batteries(lIBs),However,AFlMBs suffer from an inherently finite li reservoir and exhibit poor cycle stability,low Coulombic efficiency(CE)and severe dendrite *** this work,polydiallyl lithium disulfide(PDS-li)was successfully synthesized and coated on Cu current collector by electrochemical *** PDS-li acts as an additional lithium resource to compensate for the irreversible loss of lithium during *** addition,the special structure and lithiophilicity of PDS-li contribute to lower nucleation overpotential and uniform lithium *** coupled with li-rich manganese-based(lRM)cathode of li1.2Mn0.54Ni0.13Co0.13O2,the anode-free full cell exhibits significantly improved cycle stability over 100 cycles and capacity retention of 63.3%and 57%after 80 and 100 cycles,*** believe that PDS-li can be used to ensure stable cycling performance and high-energy-density in AFlMBs.

The shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(liPSs)and uncontrollable lithium dendrite growth seriously hinder the practical application of lithium-sulfur(li-S)*** simultaneously address such issues,monodispersed Nb N quantum dots anchored on nitrogen-doped hollow carbon nanorods(NbN@NHCR)are elaborately developed as efficient li PSs immobilizer and li stabilizer for high-performance li-S full *** functional theory(DFT)calculations and experimental characterizations demonstrate that the sulfiphilic and lithiophilic NbN@NHCR hybrid can not only efficiently immobilize the soluble li PSs and facilitate diffusion-conversion kinetics for alleviating the shuttling effect,but also homogenize the distribution of li+ions and regulate uniform li deposition for suppressing li-dendrite *** a result,the assembled li-S full batteries(NbN@NHCR-S||Nb N@NHCR-li)deliver excellent long-term cycling stability with a low decay rate of 0.031%per cycle over 1000 cycles at high rate of 2 *** at a high S loading of 5.8 mg cm^(-2)and a low electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 5.2μl mg^(-1),a large areal capacity of 6.2 mA h cm^(-2)can be achieved in li-S pouch cell at 0.1 *** study provides a new perspective via designing a dual-functional sulfiphilic and lithiophilic hybrid to address serious issues of the shuttle effect of S cathode and dendrite growth of li anode.
