Impact of oral anti-hepatitis B therapy on the survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma initially treated with chemoembolization

Introduction:Most hepatocellular carcinomas(HCC) develop in a background of underlying liver disease including chronic hepatitis ***,the effect of antiviral therapy on the long-term outcome of patients with hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related HCC treated with chemoembolization is *** study aimed to evaluate the survival benefits of anti-HBV therapy after chemoembolization for patients with HBV-related ***:A total of 224 HCC patients who successfully underwent chemoembolization were identified,and their survival and other relevant clinical data were ***-Meier and Cox regression analyses were performed to validate possible effects of antiviral treatment on overall survival(OS).Results:The median survival time(MST) was 15.9(95%confidence interval[CI],9.5-27.7) months in the antiviral group and 9.6(95%CI,7.8-13.7) months in the non-antiviral group(log-rank test,P = 0.044).Cox multivariate analysis revealed that antiviral treatment was a prognostic factor for OS(P = 0.008).Additionally,a further analysis was based on the stratification of the TNM tumor *** the subgroup of early stages,MST was significantly longer in the antiviral-treatment group than in the non-antiviral group(61.8 months[95%CI,34.8 months to beyond the follow-up period]versus 26.2[95%CI,14.5-37.7]months,P= 0.012).Multivariate analysis identified antiviral treatment as a prognostic factor for OS in the early-stage subgroup(P = 0.006).However,in the subgroup of advanced stages,MST of the antiviral-treated group was comparable to that of the non-antiviral group(8.4[95%CI,5.2-13.5]months versus 7.4[95%CI,5.9-9.3]months,P = 0.219).Multivariate analysis did not indicate that antiviral treatment was a significant prognostic factor in this ***:Antiviral treatment is associated with prolonged OS time after chemoembolization for HCC,especially in patients with early-stage tumors.

As the demands of massive connections and vast coverage rapidly grow in the next wireless communication networks, rate splitting multiple access(RSMA) is considered to be the new promising access scheme since it can provide higher efficiency with limited spectrum resources. In this paper, combining spectrum splitting with rate splitting, we propose to allocate resources with traffic offloading in hybrid satellite terrestrial networks. A novel deep reinforcement learning method is adopted to solve this challenging non-convex problem. However, the neverending learning process could prohibit its practical implementation. Therefore, we introduce the switch mechanism to avoid unnecessary learning. Additionally, the QoS constraint in the scheme can rule out unsuccessful transmission. The simulation results validates the energy efficiency performance and the convergence speed of the proposed algorithm.

Uncertainty and disturbance estimator-based model predictive control for wet flue gas desulphurization system

Wet flue gas desulphurization technology is widely used in the industrial process for its capability of efficient pollution *** desulphurization control system,however,is subjected to complex reaction mechanisms and severe disturbances,which make for it difficult to achieve certain practically relevant control goals including emission and economic performances as well as system *** address these challenges,a new robust control scheme based on uncertainty and disturbance estimator(UDE)and model predictive control(MPC)is proposed in this *** UDE is used to estimate and dynamically compensate acting disturbances,whereas MPC is deployed for optimal feedback regulation of the resultant *** viewing the system nonlinearities and unknown dynamics as disturbances,the proposed control framework allows to locally treat the considered nonlinear plant as a linear *** obtained simulation results confirm that the utilization of UDE makes the tracking error negligibly small,even in the presence of unmodeled *** the conducted comparison study,the introduced control scheme outperforms both the standard MPC and PID(proportional-integral-derivative)control strategies in terms of transient performance and ***,the results reveal that a lowpass-filter time constant has a significant effect on the robustness and the convergence range of the tracking error.

Polyolefin vitrimers bearing acetoacetate functionality

Polyolefin vitrimers are polymer networks bearing reversible covalent crosslinking points, enabling them to be reprocessed and recycled. In this contribution, a series of polyolefin vitrimers were designed based on the acetoacetate-functionalized polyolefin copolymers, which were produced through the direct copolymerization of ethylene with polar comonomers using a phosphinesulfonate palladium catalyst. The pendant acetoacetate group could mediate several characteristic reactions, such as the Michael addition reaction, ketone-amine condensation and metal coordination reaction. As such, structurally adjustable polyolefin vitrimers can be accessed by introducing various dynamic crosslinking bonds, including disulfide exchange, transamination of vinylogous urethane and labile metal coordination bond. The utilization of different crosslinking reactions and the mole ratio of crosslinkers significantly impact the material properties of the resultant polymers. Specifically, the generated polyolefin vitrimers demonstrated excellent reprocessability and closed-loop recycling properties. The study in this work provides an efficient strategy to access various polyolefin vitrimers.

Short-time maritime target detection based on polarization scattering characteristics

In this paper,a detection method combining Cameron decomposition based on polarization scattering characteristics in sea clutter background is ***,the Cameron decomposition is exploited to fuse the radar echoes of full polarization channels at the data *** to the artificial material structure on the surface of the target,it can be shown that the non-reciprocity of the target cell is stronger than that of the clutter ***,based on the analysis of the decomposition results,a new feature with scattering geometry characteristics in polarization domain,denoted as Cameron polarization decomposition scattering weight(CPD-SW),is extracted as the test statistic,which can achieve more detailed descriptions of the clutter scattering characteristics utilizing the difference between their scattering ***,the superiority of the proposed CPD-SW detector over traditional detectors in improving detection performance is verified by the IPIX measured dataset,which has strong stability under short-time observation in threshold detection and can also improve the separability of feature space zin anomaly detection.

Analytical evaluation of steady-state solute distribution in through- diffusion and membrane behavior test under non-perfectly flushing boundary conditions

The through-diffusion and membrane behavior testing procedure using a closed-system apparatus has been widely used for concurrent measurement of diffusion and membrane efficiency coefficients of low-permeability clay-based barrier ***,the common assumption of perfectly flushing conditions at the specimen boundaries could induce errors in analyses of the diffusion coefficients and membrane *** this study,an innovative pseudo three-dimensional(3D)analytical method was proposed to evaluate solute distribution along the boundary surfaces of the soil-porous disks system,considering the non-perfectly flushing *** results were consistent with numerical models under two scenarios considering different inflow/outflow *** proposed model has been demonstrated to be an accurate and reliable method to estimate solute distributions along the *** calculated membrane efficiency coefficient and diffusion coefficient based on the proposed analytical method are more accurate,resulting in up to 50%less relative error than the traditional approach that adopts the arithmetic mean value of the influent and effluent *** retar-dation factor of the clay specimen also can be calculated with a revised cumulative mass ***,the simulated transient solute transport matched with experimental data from a multi-stage through-diffusion and membrane behavior test,validating the accuracy of the proposed method.
