Introducing Ni in Ru oxide is a promising approach to enhance the catalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).However,the role of Ni(which has a poor intrinsic activity)is not fully ***,a Ru NiO_(x)electrode fabricated via a modified dip coating method exhibited excellent OER performance in acidic media,and neutral media for CO_(2)reduction *** combined in-situ/operando X-ray absorption near-edge structure and on-line inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry studies to unveil the role of the Ni introduced in the Ru *** propose that the Ni not only transforms the electronic structure of the Ru oxide,but also produces a large number of oxygen vacancies by distorting the oxygen lattice structure at low overpotentials,increasing the participation of lattice oxygen for *** work demonstrates the real behavior of bimetallic oxide materials under applied potentials and provides new insights into the development of efficient electrocatalysts.

Utility of a deep learning model and a clinical model for predicting bleeding after endoscopic submucosal dissection in patients with early gastric cancer

BACKGROUND Bleeding is one of the major complications after endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)in early gastric cancer(EGC)*** are limited studies on estimating the bleeding risk after ESD using an artificial intelligence *** To derivate and verify the performance of the deep learning model and the clinical model for predicting bleeding risk after ESD in EGC *** Patients with EGC who underwent ESD between January 2010 and June 2020 at the Samsung Medical Center were enrolled,and post-ESD bleeding(PEB)was investigated *** split the entire cohort into a development set(80%)and a validation set(20%).The deep learning and clinical model were built on the development set and tested in the validation *** performance of the deep learning model and the clinical model were compared using the area under the curve and the stratification of bleeding risk after *** A total of 5629 patients were included,and PEB occurred in 325 *** area under the curve for predicting PEB was 0.71(95%confidence interval:0.63-0.78)in the deep learning model and 0.70(95%confidence interval:0.62-0.77)in the clinical model,without significant difference(P=0.730).The patients expected to the low-(<5%),intermediate-(≥5%,<9%),and high-risk(≥9%)categories were observed with actual bleeding rate of 2.2%,3.9%,and 11.6%,respectively,in the deep learning model;4.0%,8.8%,and 18.2%,respectively,in the clinical *** A deep learning model can predict and stratify the bleeding risk after ESD in patients with EGC.

The benefits of reinforcing polyimide （PI） films with boron nitride （BN） particles and boron nitride nanosheets （BNNSs） were assessed with the aim of enhancing their thermal, optical, and mechanical properties for flexible device applications. BNNSs were prepared from BN particles using a liquid-phase exfoliation method assisted by an ultrasonic probe-type sonicator and centrifugator. PI-based composite films blended with BNNSs and BN particles were fabricated at various concentrations via mechanical stirring and spin coating. The transparency of the PI/BNNS composite films remained almost the same as that of pure PI films up to 3 wt.% whereas the transparency of the PI/BN composite films decreased with increasing concentration of the BN fillers at 550 nm. The thermal stability improved significantly with increasing concentrations of both BN and BNNS relative to that of pure PI films. The temperature for 5% weight loss of the PI/BNNS composite film was higher than that of the PI/BN composite film at the same filler concentration. The composite films with 2 wt.% BN or BNNS showed the lowest wear rate, and the PI/BNNS composite films showed more stable frictional behavior compared to the PI/BN composite films. In addition, bending tests showed that the PI/BNNS composite films exhibited excellent flexibility compared to the PI/BN composite films. Overall, the results indicate that the BNNS can be effectively used as a filler that can enhance the thermal and mechanical properties of polymer materials for flexible device applications.

Numerous types of floating breakwaters have been proposed,tested and commercialized in the past *** majority of these breakwaters are made of solid bodies;hence,they are relatively bulky and are not readily to be rapidly installed at the targeted sites when immediate wave protection of the coastal and offshore facilities is ***,the application of these hard floating structures at the recreational beaches is rather unlikely due to potential deadly marine traffic *** overcome these problems,a flexible air-filled wave attenuator(AFWA)has been developed in the present *** floating breakwater is made of flexible waterproof membrane *** main body consists of a rectangular air-filled prism and is ballasted by sandbags located around the floating *** objective of this study is to evaluate the wave transmission,wave reflection,energy dissipation,motion responses and mooring forces of the AFWA under the random wave actions using physical *** test model located in a 20 m long wave flume was subjected to a range of wave heights and *** wave profiles in the vicinity of the test model were measured using wave probes for determination of wave transmission,reflection and energy loss *** motion responses in terms of heave,surge and pitch,and wave forces acting on the mooring lines were measured using a motion tracking system and load cells,*** experimental results reveal that the AFWA is effective in attenuating up to 95%in the incoming wave height and has low-wave-reflection properties,which is commendable for floating breakwaters.
