Tree Autom.ta for Extracting Consensus from.Partial Replicas of a Structured Docum.nt

In an asynchronous cooperative editing workflow of a structured docum.nt, each of the co-authors receives in the different phases of the editing process, a copy of the docum.nt to insert its contribution. For confidentiality reasons, this copy m.y be only a partial replica containing only parts of the (global) docum.nt which are of dem.nstrated interest for the considered co-author. Note that som. parts m.y be a dem.nstrated interest over a co-author;they will therefore be accessible concurrently. When it’s synchronization tim. (e.g. at the end of an asynchronous editing phase of the process), we want to m.rge all contributions of all authors in a single docum.nt. Due to the asynchronism.of edition and to the potential existence of the docum.nt parts offering concurrent access, conflicts m.y arise and m.ke partial replicas unm.rgeable in their entirety: they are inconsistent, m.aning that they contain conflictual parts. The purpose of this paper is to propose a m.rging approach said by consensus of such partial replicas using tree autom.ta. Specifically, from.the partial replicas updates, we build a tree autom.ton that accepts exactly the consensus docum.nts. These docum.nts are the m.xim.m.prefixes containing no conflict of partial replicas m.rged.
