The history of assigning ranks to fungi,as well as the relative importance of using divergence time estimates is *** paper pays tribute to the major mycological players,and especially to david Hawksworth on his 70th birthday and his contribution to fungal ranking in Systema Ascomycetum from 1982 to *** the conclusion of the latter series,the ranking continued with the Outlines of Ascomycota in 2007 and 2010 and more recently with specific classes in‘Towards an outline of Sordariomycetes’and‘Families of dothideomycetes’.Earlier classifications based on phenotype were certainly more subjective;however,remarkably many of these old arrangements have stood the test of *** recently,phylogenetic analyses have provided evidence towards a natural classification,resulting in significant changes in many *** classification arrangements however,are still subjective and dependent on the taxa analysed,resulting in different taxonomic interpretations and schemes,particularly when it comes to ***,what have been considered as genera by some,have been introduced as families by *** recently,estimation of divergence times using molecular clock methods have been used as objective evidence for higher ranking of taxa.A divergence period(i.e.200–300 MYA)can be used as a criterion to infer when a group of related taxa evolved and what rank they should be *** compiled data on divergence times for various higher ranking taxa in the Kingdom *** kingdom evolved 1000–1600 MYA(Stenian–Calymmian),while the presently accepted phyla evolved between 358 and 541 MYA(devonian–Cambrian).divergence times for subphyla are generally between 358 and 485 MYA(devonian–Ordovician),those of classes 145–358 MYA(Jurassic–Carboniferous),subclasses 66–358 MYA(Cretaceous–Carboniferous),orders 23–252 MYA(Paleogene–Triassic),families 2.8–145 MYA(Neogene–Cretaceous),and genera 2.8–66 MYA(Neogene–Paleogene).Thus,there are wide discrepancies in the times diffe

Epicardial Fat Thickness and its Association as a Risk Factor for Coronary Artery disease

Background of study aims and objective:Epicardial fat thickness is a novel parameter for predicting outcome and assessment of severity of coronary artery disease. Our present study aims to establish an association between epicardial fat thickness and coronary artery disease. Materials & Methods: Patients of suspected CAd underwent coronary angiography. 100 subjects proven as confirmed cases were included in the study. Routine clinical examination, risk factor profile and anthropometric variables were also done. Severity of CAd was assessed using Gensini Score. Epicardial fat thickness was measured using 2d ECHO. For comparative analysis, 50 healthy individuals were also included in the study. Results: Epicardial fat thickness was significantly higher in cases (7.53 ± 1.79 mm) than controls (4.24 ± 1.09 mm). Female sex, hypertension, dyslipidemia, obesity were observed to affect EFT significantly. No difference in mean EFT was observed with age, diabetes, smoking, ECG changes and arterial territory involvement. BMI and Gensini scores both showed strong positive correlation with epicardial fat thickness. Conclusion: Epicardial fat thickness is associated and linearly correlates with onset and severity of CAd.

The analysis of the filamentary structure of the cosmo as well as that of the internal structure of the polar ice suggests the development of models based on three-dimensional(3d)point processes.A point process,regarded as a random measure,can be expressed as a sum of delta dirac measures concentrated at some random *** integration with respect to the point process leads the continuous wavelet transform of the process *** possible mother wavelets,we propose the application of the Mexican hat and the Morlet wavelet in order to implement the scale-angle energy density of the process,depending on the dilation parameter and on the three angles which define the direction in the Euclidean *** indicator proves to be a sensitive detector of any variation in the direction and it can be successfully implemented to study the isotropy or the filamentary structure in 3d point patterns.

Numerical Simulation of Interaction between Fluid and Vapor Structures in Multiphase Flow around Hydrofoil

This work deals with the numerical simulation of interaction of fluid and vapor structures on NACA 2412 hydrofoil during the partial cavitation oscillation. This interaction is supposed to be the most important reason for the cavity shedding when, in a certain range of the cavitation numbers, some “resonance” effect can be reached. The incidence angle is 8? and the Reynolds number is 1.56 × 106. The hydrofoil with the span/chord ratio of 1.25 corresponds to the experiments carried out in the cavitation tunnel. The detached Eddy Simulation (dES) is used on full 3d geometry of the straight NACA 2412 hydrofoil to capture the strong influence of side-wall effects. Real properties of water including estimated content of undissolved air are con-sidered to affect the compressibility of the mixture and its speed of sound. The link between strong pressure pulses during the cavity cycles and the interaction of fluid and vapor structures is discussed in detail.

＜正＞This paper presents novel results on the joint problem of sampling, reconstruction and quantization of analog signals. Existing literature on this topic deals exclusively with band-limited signals in sampled form. Our key departure from earlier results is that we deal with continuous time reconstruction of not necessarily band-limited signals. Our approach utilizes concepts and tools from optimal sampled-data and receding horizon control theory. The key conclusion from the work presented here is that, in the case under study, the optimal quantizer design problem can be partitioned into two sub-problems, namely （i） the design of an optimal analog pre-filter followed by sampling and （ii） an optimal quantizer, which works directly on the pre-sampled signals. Simulation results are presented which illustrate the performance of the optimal A-d converter designed via these principles.

We report the fabrication and characterization of silicon carbide microdisks on top of silicon pillars suited for applications from near-to mid-infrared. We probe 10 μm diameter disks with different under-etching depths,from 4 μm down to 1.4 μm, fabricated by isotropic plasma etching and extract quality factors up to 8400 at telecom wavelength. Our geometry is suited to present high Q single-mode operation. We experimentally demonstrate high-order whispering-gallery mode suppression while preserving the fundamental gallery mode and investigate some requirements for nonlinear optics applications on this platform, specifically in terms of quality factor and dispersion for Kerr frequency comb generation.

Inactivation of Yersinia enterocolitica in Fermented Sausages during Fermentation

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the storage conditions as a way to increase the safety of fermented sausage, with the specific objectives to investigate the effect of storage time, pH value, water activity and microbiological status （Lactobacillus spp and Enterobacteriaceae） on the levels of Yersinia enterocolitica in fermented sausages. For this experiment, meat was divided into four equal portions of 10 kg each. The first portion was control group （C1 group） without addition of Y. enterocolitica and starter culture. The second portion （CII group） was inoculated starter, the third portion （EI group） was inoculated with I1. enterocolitica and the fourth portion （Eli group） was inoculated Y.. enterocolitica and starter culture. Sampling was performed by randomly selecting two links of each sausage preparation at the 0, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 15th, 25th and 35th day of drying. Results show that Y. enterocolitica and Enterobacteriaceae were not detected after 25 d of storage. The results indicate that practice utilizing starter culture is satisfactory to reduction of pathogen if present. Thus, inclusion with starter cultures in a maturation period may increase the safety of fermented sausages.

Introduction. We report the results of a one-day survey of nursing care loa d in University Hospitals (UH), General Hospitals (GH) and Stroke Units (SU) reg arding the acute stage of stroke. Methods. The type of care and the time devoted to care were compared by type of stroke (transient ischemic attack, ischemic st roke, hemorrhagic stroke, cerebral thrombophlebitis, sub-arachnoid hemorrhage) , and degree of handicap (Barthel score). Results. Twenty-two hospitals (13 UH and 9 GH) participated in the study and provided care for 328 stroke victims (3 0 transient ischemic attacks, 247 ischemic strokes, 36 hemorrhagic strokes, 3 ce rebral thrombophlebitis events and 11 strokes of unknown mechanism). Care was gi ven in UHs for 63 percent of the patients and in GHs for 37 percent; in SUs for 40 percent (132 patients) and general neurology units for 60 percent (196 patien ts). Care involved physiotherapy for 70 percent, speech therapy for 42 percent, and care for cognitive decline for 36 percent. Mean time spent by nurses and nur sing assistants peaked in the morning with a significant time not devoted to car e. More than 3 hours of nurse care per day of care was significantly more freque nt in SUs (p d in GHs (p = 0.02) for patients with Barthel score der than 80 years, with a Barthel score d who were admitted more than 1 5 days before the survey required more than two hours per day of nursing assista nt care significantly more often. The probability of more than three hours per d ay of nurse care for stroke increased 2.8-fold for hemorrhagic stroke, 6.0-f old for Barthel Score d 2.0-fold for care in a GH. The probability of more than two hours per day of nurse assistant care for stroke increased 3.0- fold for hemorrhagic stroke, 6.1-fold for Barthel score d for patient s older than 70 years, and 1.5-fold for stroke onset more than 14 days before t

Use of High definition Multileaf Colimator for the Treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia

In the present work, a treatment technique for trigeminal neuralgia (TN) using LINAC radiosurgery is shown. The technique is based on the optimization of ten static arcs in such a way as to minimize the overlapping of the treatment fields with the brainstem. We will call this technique brainstem-optimized (BO). The results are compared with another technique described in the literature known as a virtual cone (VC). The comparison of dosimetry results that have been carried out essentially shows that the doses in the brainstem V12Gy-brainstem, d0.5cm3-brainstem and d0.035 cm3-brainstem are lower in the BO versus VC technique, and with the parameters V50% (whole brain) and V12Gy-cerebrum higher in BO versus VC. Our goal is to keep the dose to the brainstem as low as possible and, if possible, at most between 12 Gy and 15 Gy. The BO technique meets our purposes and is considered clinically acceptable at our institution.
