DNA Barcode ITS Effectively Distinguishes the Medicinal Plant Boerhavia diffusa from Its Adulterants

Boerhavia diffusa （B. diffusa）, also known as Punarnava, is an indigenous plant in India and an important component in traditional Indian medicine. The accurate identification and collection of this medicinal herb is vital to enhance the drug＇s efficacy and biosafety. In this study, a DNA barcoding technique has been applied to identify and distinguish B. diffusa from its closely-related species. The phylogenetic analysis was carried out for the four species of Boerhavia using barcode candidates including nuclear ribosomal DNA regions ITS, ITS1, ITS2 and the chloroplast plastid gene psbA-trnH. Sequence alignment revealed 26% polymorphic sites in ITS, 30% in ITS1, 16% in ITS2 and 6% in psbA-trnH, respectively. Additionally, a phylogenetic tree was constructed for 15 species using ITS sequences which clearly distinguished B. diffusa from the other species. The ITS1 demonstrates a higher transition/transversion ratio, percentage of variation and pairwise distance which differentiate B. diffusa from other species of Boerhavia. Our study revealed that 1TS and ITS1 could be used as potential candidate regions for identifying B. diffusa and for authenticating its herbal products.

The presented paper exhibits theory of the ＂gravitational＂ waves propagation near the Earth surface and in the ocean. There was determined an expression ＂gravitational＂ wave which was registered by the gravimeters being placed in several points of the Earth globe. Alteration of gravitational field was accompanied by alteration of the ＂gravitational＂ wave which has the velocity differing from the velocity of seismic waves. The theoretical model was proved by many experiments realized under registration of the underwater earthquake core by tens of gravimeters being placed in the Earth globe different points. The ＂gravitational＂ waves assist to increase the right forecast probability of the beginning tsunami to 50%.

Modeling of f-electron systems is challenging due to the complex interplay of the effects of spin–orbit coupling,electron–electron interactions,and the hybridization of the localized f-electrons with itinerant conduction *** complexity drives not only the richness of electronic properties but also makes these materials suitable for diverse technological *** this context,we propose and implement a data-driven approach to aid the materials discovery *** deploying state-of-the-art algorithms and query tools,we train our learning models using a large,simulated dataset based on existing actinide and lanthanide *** machine-learned models so obtained can then be used to search for new classes of stable materials with desired electronic and physical *** discuss the basic structure of our f-electron database,and our approach towards cleaning and correcting the structure data *** examples of the applications of our database include successful prediction of stable superstructures of double perovskites and identification of a number of physically-relevant trends in strongly correlated features of f-electron based materials.

An estimated 800,000 - 1.4 million persons in the US have chronic hepatitis B virus (HBv) infection. The risk for chronic infection is greatest among young children;approximately 90% of infants will remain chronically infected with HBv. Approximately 25% of those who become chronically infected during childhood die prematurely from cirrhosis or liver cancer. Hepatitis B vaccination is the most effective measure to prevent HBv infection and its consequences. In 2006, 29 US states had Hepatitis B vaccine Supply (HBvS) policy which either supplies hepatitis B vaccine at no cost to all providers for all children or provides hepatitis B vaccine to delivery hospitals-only free of charge for all infants;other 21 US states and the District of Columbia did not have. 17,636 infants born in 2006 obtained from 2007-2009 National Immunization Survey (NIS) were analyzed with survival analysis procedures of Kaplan-Meier estimate and Cox proportional hazards model for complex sample survey to evaluate the association between state HBvS policy and the timing of infant age in days to receipt of hepatitis B vaccination. State HBvS policy is associated with infant age in days from birth to receipt of the first dose of hepatitis B vaccine (P vaccine series (P vaccine occurred 31% earlier among infants residing in states with HBvS policy than among infants residing in states without (adjusted hazards ratio 1.31, 95%CI (1.23, 1.39)). Completion of the 3-dose hepatitis B vaccine series were 12% sooner among infants living in states with HBvS policy than among infants living in states without (adjusted hazards ratio 1.12, 95%CI (1.06, 1.18)). State HBvS policy may help overcome barriers to timely delivery of hepatitis B vaccines to infants.

A new image fusion scheme based on local accumulated gradient and PCA transform is presented. The image fusion process begins by taking the Dual tree complex wavelet transform of the source images. Then, the fused local detailed coefficients are chosen according to local accumulated gradient rule, and the fused approximate coefficients are acquired by selection or averaging rule based on PCA. Finally, the fused image can be obtained by taking the inverse dual tree complex wavelet transform of the fused composite coefficients. The experimental results show that the proposed method is an efficient approach to image fusion.

Li−garnet solid-state batteries(SSBs)have attracted a great deal of attention due to their nonflammability,nontoxicity,and potential to achieve significantly higher energy and power densities compared to those of conventional Li-ion batteries.1−5 Research that began in 20076 and focused primarily on improving the Li-ion conductivity of Li7La3Zr2O12(LLZO)has since evolved into the development of Li−garnet SSBs,encompassing aspects of the LLZO/Li interface,7,8 the electrochemical voltage window of LLZO,9−11 and compatibility with current cathode chemistries.12−15 Nevertheless,an analysis of the literature shows that there is still no clear opinion in the research community on the configuration of future Li−garnet *** particular,opinions differ on the design of the LLZO-based anode layer that accounts for(i)the dynamic expansion and shrinkage of the Li metal(from up to 5−25μm for the area capacity of 1−5 mAh cm^(−2))and(ii)the probability of void formation at the Li/LLZO interface.

To investigate the effect of a low-FODMAP diet on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)-like symptoms in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).METHODSThis was a randomised controlled open-label trial of patients with IBD in remission or with mild-to-moderate disease and coexisting IBS-like symptoms (Rome III) randomly assigned to a Low-FODMAP diet (LFD) or a normal diet (ND) for 6 wk between June 2012 and December 2013. Patients completed the IBS symptom severity system (IBS-SSS) and short IBD quality of life questionnaire (SIBDQ) at weeks 0 and 6. The primary end-point was response rates (at least 50-point reduction) in IBS-SSS at week 6 between groups; secondary end-point was the impact on quality of ***-nine patients, 67 (75%) women, median age 40, range 20-70 years were randomised: 44 to LFD group and 45 to ND, from which 78 patients completed the study period and were included in the final analysis (37 LFD and 41 ND). There was a significantly larger proportion of responders in the LFD group (n = 30, 81%) than in the ND group (n = 19, 46%); (OR = 5.30; 95%CI: 1.81-15.55, P ve study, a low-FODMAP diet reduced IBS-like symptoms and increased quality of life in patients with IBD in remission.

Numerous advancements in the Information Technology (IT) require the proper security policy for the data storage and transfer among the cloud. With the increase in size of the data, the time required to handle the huge-size data is more. An assurance of security in cloud computing suffers various issues. The evolution of cryptographic approaches addresses these limitations and provides the solution to the data preserving. There are two issues in security assurance such as geographical distribution and the multi-tenancy of the cloud server. This paper surveys about the various cryptographic techniques with their key sizes, time required for key/signature generation and verification constraints. The survey discusses the architecture for secure data transmissions among the devices, challenges raised during the transmission and attacks. This paper presents the brief review of major cryptographic techniques such as Rivest, Shamir Adleman (RSA), Dffie Hellman and the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) associated key sizes. This paper investigates the general impact of digital signature generation techniques on cloud security with the advantages and disadvantages. The results and discussion section existing in this paper investigate the time consumption for key/signature generation and verification with the key size variations effectively. The initialization of random prime numbers and the key computation based on the points on the elliptic curve assures the high-security compared to the existing schemes with the minimum time consumption and sizes in cloud-based applications.
