AIM: Celiac disease (CD) is an enteropathic disorder very prevalent in Saharawi people. Our aim was to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of six human tissue transglutaminase (tTG) based ELISA tests in Saharawi CD patients. METHODS: Fifty-two CD patients and 23 controls were selected from the Saharawi refugee camps in Tinduf. CD patients were divided into two groups according to their anti-endomysium (EmA) status: 41 EmA positive and 11 EmA negative. Sera from patients and controls were tested for human tTG using six commercial ELISA kits. We used receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves and areas under the curve to compare the diagnostic accuracies of the six assays. RESULTS: In general, there are differences in the sensitivity and specificity of the human tTG ELISA assays used. Diagnostic accuracy of tests was significantly improved by adjusting the cut-off thresholds according to ROC plot analysis; the correction of the cut-off with the employment of the ROC curve analysis modifies the decision limit in more than 50% in five of the six kits evaluated. CONCLUSION: Some of the human tTG ELISAs used in this study have a diagnostic accuracy similar to EmA determination for diagnosis of CD in Saharawi people. However, it is necessary to select the assay with a higher sensitivity and specificity, and recalculate the cut-off threshold using samples from the referral population.

Two new compounds 7-hydroxy-5-O-（β-D-glucopyranoside） flavan （1） and （Z）-4＇,6＇-dihydroxy-2＇-O-（β-D-glucopyranoside） chalcone （2）, along with eight known compounds, were isolated from the stem bark of Drypetes parvifolia （Euphorbiaceae）. Their structures were established on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and chemical evidence.

借助OH夜气辉辐射的光化学模式,由OH夜气辉辐射反演中间层-低热层区域的原子氧数密度时,输入参数的不确定性将导致反演得到的原子氧数密度具有不确定性.以在sudden death猝灭模式下通过OH_((8-3))振动带体辐射率反演原子氧数密度为例,分别研究了大气参数和OH气辉辐射率的不确定度引起的反演不确定度、化学反应速率常数的不确定度引起的反演不确定度,以及所有输入参数的不确定度共同引起的反演不确定度,找出其不确定度对反演结果影响最大的参数.结果表明,三种反演不确定度均随着高度的升高而增大,温度和体辐射率的不确定度对第一种反演不确定度的贡献最大,反应速率常数b_((8))和A_((8-3))的不确定度对第二种反演不确定度的贡献最大.

One of the postponed problems of nuclear power (NP) is the problem of the management of long-lived radioactive waste (RAW), and, first of all, with minor actinides (MA), of which americium-241 is the most difficult. The aim of this work is to study the efficiency of americium transmutation in a fast reactor with a heavy liquid metal coolant lead-bismuth eutectic alloy. The article presents the results of calculations of the transmutation of americium in the SvBR-100 reactor using standard uranium oxide fuel with the addition of americium-241. The obtained values of the rate of transmutation of americium are compared with similar values for the SvBR-100 reactors on MOX-fuel and in the BN-800 reactor.

In the present research, a series of 5,6-bis aryl 1,2,4-triazines 5a^5f were synthesized by condensation of various benzils 4a^4f with aminoguanidine bicarbonate and were screened in vivo, for their anticonvulsant and neurotoxicity studies. Compounds 5a, 5b and 5d were found to be potent molecules of this series, when compared with the reference drugs phenytoin sodium, diazepam and lamotrigine. The structures of these compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopic data.

Eighteen clones of Eucalyptus tereticornis （Sm.） were evaluated for three years by adopting randomized block design for various growth parameters at Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India and compared with two checks. Significant variations were recorded for height, diameter at breast height （DBH） and clear bole height （CBH）. The broad sense heritability was low to moderate for both height and CBH. The genetic gain for height and CBH increased substantially pe se with the increase in age of trees. The average genetic gain for thres years was recorded maximum for height （159.60%） followed by DBH （110.97%） and CBH （70.34%）. Clone 17 attained maximum DBH over other genotypes for second and third year followed by clones 14 and 11. Clone 5 showed an upward trend for DBH and maintained its superiority for CBH as the age of the tree increased. Similarly, clone 11 changed its ranking from 9th to 8th to 3rd for DBH and from 9th to 4th to 2nd for CBH, respectively for the age of one, two and three years. Nonetheless, clones 6 and 10 per- formed poorly for all the characters studied. Clones 17, 14 and 5 were found to be the most promising clones for commercial deployment.
