Objective:Rice fields are dynamic mosquito larval habitats with assemblage of different predator taxa,including the larva of the mosquitoes *** surveillance in the ricefields is essential to evaluate the potential of these predators as biological resource to regulate vector mosquito *** view of this,a survey of ricefields for immatures of different mosquito species including Lutzia was ***:Survey of selected ricefields was carried out to evaluate the species composition of *** evaluation of the immatures of Lutzia mosquitoes was carried out to assess its predation potential using mosquitoes and chironomid as ***:The survey revealed the presence of five mosquito species belonging to the genera Anopheles and Culex and the predatory immatures of the mosquito Lutzia Juscana(Wiedemann,1820).The ratio of prey and predatory larva ranged between 1.46 and 4.78 during the study period,with a significant correlation on the relative abundance of the larval stages of *** and Anopheles and Culex *** laboratory conditions,a single IV instar larvae of *** was found to consume on an average 5 to 15 equivalent instars of Anopheles *** Culex *** per day depending on its *** prey consumption reduced with the larval stage approaching *** provided with equal numbers of chironomid and Anopheles or Culex larvae,larva of *** consumed mosquito larvae significantly more compared to ***: The survey results and the preliminary study on predation are suggestive of the role of *** in the regulation of vector mosquito populations naturally in the *** *** is common in many Asian countries,further studies on bioecology will be helpful to justify their use in mosquito control programme.

A Finite Element Approach to Enhance the Performance of Nano Reinforced Prosthetic Foot

Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) are innovative advanced quality materials in the field of composites concerning their strength， mechanical， and thermal properties. Nowadays， the modern requirement of the industry in the fields of health care， aerospace， and power sectors needs the rapid evolution of new components， which allows researchers to invent new materials to satisfy the functional requirements of modern technology. Tissue engineering is one of the most concerned areas of the application of FGM in the healthcare sector， where the tailored properties of FGM play a significant role in building and growing an artificial structure that heals the damaged tissue of the body parts and meets the desired application that the part needs to perform. This paper highlights the suitability of the combination of a nano-structure enhanced epoxy functionally graded material， its properties， and applicability in the design of a prosthetic foot where it provides the mobility and comfort of the body part like natural tissue. The analytical study is done by designing an ANSYS model and simulating the results of equivalent stress and directional deformation. The Finite Element (FE) approach is used to optimize the output results of stress-strain analysis， different weight percentages of nano-filler are taken for performance enhancement. A comparative analysis is done with the previously established results taking carbon fiber-reinforced composites that offer a successful validation of the present results obtained. Furthermore， this study also provides a clear understanding of the justification of the composition considered for the effective application in the field of prosthetics field.

BACKGROUND Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)is an essential therapeutic tool for biliary and pancreatic *** and elderly patients,especially those aged≥90 years are generally considered a higher-risk population for ERCP-related *** To investigate outcomes of ERCP in the Non-agenarian population(≥90 years)concerning *** This is a cohort study using the 2018-2020 National Readmission *** aged≥90 were identified who underwent ERCP,using the international classification of diseases-10 code with clinical *** Hopkins’s adjusted clinical groups frailty indicator was used to classify patients as frail and *** primary outcome was mortality,and the secondary outcomes were morbidity and the 30 d readmission rate related to *** used univariate and multivariate regression models for *** A total of 9448 patients were admitted for any indications of *** and non-frail patients were 3445(36.46%)and 6003(63.53%)*** for ERCP were Choledocholithiasis(74.84%),Biliary pancreatitis(9.19%),Pancreatico-biliary cancer(7.6%),Biliary stricture(4.84%),and Cholangitis(1.51%).Mortality rates were higher in frail group[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)=1.68,P=0.02].The Intra-procedural complications were insigni-ficant between the two groups which included bleeding(aOR=0.72,P=0.67),accidental punctures/lacerations(aOR=0.77,P=0.5),and mechanical ventilation rates(aOR=1.19,P=0.6).Post-ERCP complication rate was similar for bleeding(aOR=0.72,P=0.41)and post-ERCP pancreatitis(aOR=1.4,P=0.44).Frail patients had a longer length of stay(6.7 d vs 5.5 d)and higher mean total charges of hospitalization($78807 vs$71392)compared to controls(P<0.001).The 30 d all-cause readmission rates between frail and non-frail patients were similar(P=0.96).CONCLUSION There was a significantly higher mortality risk and healthcare burden amongst nonagenarian frail patients undergoing ERCP compared

Integration of silicon nanowires in solar cell structure for efficiencyenhancement: A review

Silicon nanowires (SiNWs) are a one-dimensional semiconductor, which shows promising applications indistinct areas such as photocatalysis, lithium-ion batteries, gas sensors, medical diagnostics, drug delivery,and solar cell. From an implementation point of view, SiNWs are fabricated using either a topdownor bottom-up approach, and SiNWs are both optically and electronically active. SiNWs enhancesthe efficiency of the solar cell due to better electronic, optical, and physical properties that can becontrolled by tuning the physical dimensions of SiNWs. The SiNWs shows an inherent capability to beutilized in radial or coaxial p-n junction solar cells, to stipulate orthogonal photon absorption, antireflection,and enhanced carrier collection. This paper reviews property-control of SiNWs, theirvarious types of incorporation in a solar cell, and the reasons behind enhanced efficiency.

Measurement of bit-rock interface temperature and wear rate of the tungsten carbide drill bit during rotary drilling

Rock drilling is an essential operation in mining *** at the bit-rock interface plays a major role in the wear rate of the drill *** paper primarily focuses on the wear rate of tungsten carbide(WC)drill bit and the interrelationship between temperature and wear rate during rotary drilling operations conducted using a computer numerical control(CNC)*** interrelationship between the temperature and wear rate was studied with regard to three types of rock samples,i.e.,fine-grained sandstone(FG)of uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)that is 17.83 MPa,medium-grained sandstone(MG)of UCS that is 13.70 MPa,and fine-grained sandstone pink(FGP)of UCS that is 51.67 *** rate of the drill bit has been measured using controlled parameters,i.e.,drill bit diameter(6,8,10,12,and 16 mm),spindle speed(250,300,350,400,and 450 rpm),and penetration rate(2,4,6,8,and 10 mm/min),***,a fully instrumented laboratory drilling set-up was *** weight of each bit was measured after the bit reached 30 mm depth in each type of the rock ***,effects of the bit-rock interface temperature and operational parameters on wear rate of the drill bits were *** results show that the wear rate of drill bits increased with an increase in temperature for all the bit-rock combinations *** is due to the silica content of the rock sample,which leads to an increase in the frictional heat between the bit-rock ***,in case of medium-grained sandstone,the weight percentage(wt%)of SiO2 is around 7.23 wt%,which presents a very low wear rate coefficient of 6.33×10^–2 mg/(N?m).Moreover,the temperature rise during drilling is also minimum,i.e.,around 74℃,in comparison to that of fine-grained sandstone and fine-grained sandstone *** addition,this paper develops the relationship between temperature and wear rate characteristics by employing simple linear regression analysis.

Objective:To investigate the outbreak of unknown fever at Siliguri town,Darjeeling District on request from the State Health Department,Government of West ***: Investigations were made to the affected wards,Sub Divisional Hospital and the nursing homes of Siliguri *** of illness was 3-5 *** observations were made in some cases which had gastrointestinal disorders with high serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase(SGPT) and serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(SCOT) levels.A total of 69 blood samples and 7 throat swabs(in Minimum Essential Media) were collected and brought to the ICMR Virus Unit, Kolkata for *** from different affected areas were collected for the identification of the definite ***:Amongst the 69 blood samples,42(60.86%) were positive to IgM antibody against dengue virus by Mac enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) *** IgM antibody to Japanese encephalitis virus was detected among the collected blood *** on the clinical symptoms,presence of IgM antibody to dengue virus and identification of Aedes mosquito,it amply proves that,the illness of those cases were due to dengue virus infection. Conclusions:Based on clinical-epidemiological observations of the investigations the possibility of a communicable disease of viral origin,the detection of IgM antibody and the identification of Aedes egypti,and the potential circulation of denge virus in Siliguri town for the first time were all suggested.

System Identification becomes very crucial in the field of nonlinear and dynamic systems or practical *** most practical systems don’t have prior information about the system behaviour thus,mathematical modelling is *** authors have proposed a stacked Bidirectional Long-Short Term Memory(Bi-LSTM)model to handle the problem of nonlinear dynamic system identification in this *** proposed model has the ability of faster learning and accurate modelling as it can be trained in both forward and backward *** main advantage of Bi-LSTM over other algorithms is that it processes inputs in two ways:one from the past to the future,and the other from the future to the *** this proposed model a backward-running Long-Short Term Memory(LSTM)can store information from the future along with application of two hidden states together allows for storing information from the past and future at any moment in *** proposed model is tested with a recorded speech signal to prove its superiority with the performance being evaluated through Mean Square Error(MSE)and Root Means Square Error(RMSE).The RMSE and MSE performances obtained by the proposed model are found to be 0.0218 and 0.0162 respectively for 500 *** comparison of results and further analysis illustrates that the proposed model achieves better performance over other models and can obtain higher prediction accuracy along with faster convergence speed.

Adsorptive Removal of Phosphate from Aqueous Solution by Magnetic-Supported Kaolinite: Characteristics, Isotherm and Kinetic Studies

Natural kaolin (NK) and magnetite-modified kaolin (MK) prepared by co-precipitation were used as adsorbents to remove phosphate from aqueous solution. The materials were characterized using X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field-emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Batch adsorption experiment was carried out to determine the phosphate removal efficiencies of these materials. The magnetic-supported kaolin showed better dispersion and less co-aggregation which ensured better fusion of the kaolin with magnetite (Fe3O4). The removal process of phosphate was governed by physico-chemical process. The results demonstrated that the adsorption of phosphate onto NK and MK was highly pH-dependent and the kinetics of the adsorption followed pseudo-second order equation. The adsorption data of Mk adsorbent fitted better with the Freundlich isotherm equation. The MK showed much better adsorption capacity per mass of MK (52.91 mg/g) than untreated NK (17.61 mg/g). Since the magnetic kaolin can be easily prepared, it enables promising application for the removal of phosphate from aqueous solution. Hence, this new class of efficient adsorbent (MK), can have a variety of application in industrial processes.
